@@peterkarminas9512 60 fps is confirmed for Xbox. My bet is since everyone has the same footage, this is an edit made by Machinegames and they probably output the video at 30 fps or RU-vid is messing it up somehow.
I used to not prefer first person games, but Cyberpunk 2077 changed my mind. I definitely get more immersed in first person games that are narrative driven. Now, the third person cutscenes will be something to get used to.
I have to disagree with those wishing for third-person gameplay. Just play a few seconds of Peter Jackson's King Kong: The Official Game of the Movie (2005), and you’ll understand why developers often opt for the immersive first-person route. The game pulls you into its world by stripping away the HUD and making you rely on your surroundings to gauge details like ammo count, environmental cues, and puzzle elements. This approach doesn’t just increase immersion; it challenges players to pay closer attention, deepening the experience by engaging their senses in ways third-person gameplay rarely can achieve. There’s a reason why most immersive sims are designed in first person. Games like System Shock, BioShock, Prey, Alien: Isolation, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Thief, and Dishonored all prioritize this perspective to fully draw players into their worlds. Some, like Deus Ex: Human Revolution, incorporate a hybrid approach by switching to third person for certain elements, such as takedowns, cover mechanics, conversations with NPCs, and cutscenes. However, the core gameplay remains primarily in first person, emphasizing immersion and player engagement through a direct, more personal perspective.
Year right. Many people like me will just not buy this if they don't add third person mode. Immersion not always comes from just perspective, it depends on what is the key gameplay mechanics. If it's platforming, combat (especially if it's mostly melee) and stealth while it's adventure (totally not System Shock or Alien Isolation), then third person is the way to go. Uncharted is a joke for you?
@@xen0m So I guess you're not buying the game then ... sucks for you. I don't care. There are first person games and there are third person games, and I play them all, if they're good.
All the people complaining about it not being in 3rd person… I’m glad it isn’t 3 person can be good but this takes a fresh perspective on action adventure, if this was 3rd person it would just be another standard action adventure game like uncharted etc. looks great, putting yourself in the shoes of Indiana Jones instead of just controlling him.
@@DRlSE I totally agree with you. If the decision was to make this 3rd person, the haters would just be calling it out as a re-skinned tomb raider game. The 1st person angle was the right decision and the immersion and combat look amazing I can’t wait till this drops on gamepass
the lighting, level design, the details, I'm blown away how they actually created a believable Indiana jones game i had 0 expectations for an xbox first party game, now i actually want to play this game
REALLY wish this was 3rd person. I get it, they didn't want to be compared to Tomb Raider and Uncharted, but his outfit (especially the hat and whip) are so iconic that not having his character on screen at all times makes it less nostalgic to me. Having said that, they did somehow make it look like the movies (especially inside the tombs), and they did a good job on the combat and voice acting as well. So yeah, I'm still optimistic. I just wonder how long this game will be though? 10 hours? 15 at most?
@hexerei02021 it's not a RPG, it's an adventure game based on a movie. I don't want immersion, I want a cinematic experience and 3rd person is the way to go there. But like I said, they did a good job capturing the aesthetic, so I still think it looks good. And yes, 10 is definitely too short. 15 would still be short but a little acceptable. I'm hoping for at least 20 to 30 hours. They've only been working on the game for less than 3 years though, so it'll probably be pretty short...
I think first person action/adventure/puzzle games based off of major franchises are on the rise. Batman Arkham Shadow surprised everyone with its engaging gameplay and fantastic storytelling, and I think Indy and the Great Circle will be no different! The frames dropping during combat is alarming, but hopefully it’s something they can fix before it’s release. Something that really caught me off guard was how breathtaking the atmosphere was… I wasn’t expecting much from this game, but I’m honestly excited to play it myself! As the owner of a PlayStation 5, I can’t wait for Spring 2025!
Funny I was just thinking the opposite, star wars reference aside, this just looks like troy baker: the talking simulator, and I had enough of that in BioShock infinite lol
apart of some tchnicall issues the game looks cool and Troy Baker is such a awesome actor he manages too pull of Harrison Fords voice most of the time :)
As an old fan, I can see where they are trying to nail the vibe, and they get it right a lot of the time (things like the punching sound is right out of Raiders). I think the environments look pretty great, UE5 is obviously very slick. I just hope the story is up to snuff. The gameplay looks pretty generic, but I can live with that if I actually feel like Indie.
I hope we will be able to turn off the contours on the objects. They're sticking out too much for not much reason at all, because Indiana already puts his hand towards the object of choice. Looks really good overall, I'll buy it.
Glad your the only one homie, so many games coming out that look miles better, I just hope this stays a Xbox exclusive, people shouldn't waste more money on troy bakers annoying ass 😂
Avatar frontiers of pandora nailed the first person!!! I have high hopes for this game! Also, more games should just allow you to switch between cameras.. not sure why this isn't a staple by now when so so many games allow you to freely choose.
This! Weird people should be able to enjoy parkour in first person! It can be cool at times, and everyone else should be able to play 3rd person like it should be played. Switching in such games should become a standard. With new technologies it's not that hard to make good animations for 3rd person even if you're indie developer.
@@xen0m its not really about animation but mostly game design and level design. Changing perspective means that you need to adjust every elements in the area, it Can be done in open World such as Bethesda ones games because of the scale but for an immersive sim specially with huge emphasis on stealth like il seeing here, i doubt of the good result
@@ReacTeam64 In the past most of the times it was about animations because of budget restrictions, it's cheaper to make. And yes, its also about game mechanics. Stealth and dimensional puzzles are better in third person. This game is action-adventure, nowhere it says anything about immersive sim, just people making that assumption from it being first person. Machine Games never made any immersive sims.
@@xen0m not sure about 3rd person better for stealth, every game is different and makes immersive in their own way, for me and many people we don't need to see our character AT every moment to be immerged like Dishonored or CBPK to say the least. And yeah it surely isnt an immersive sim but more of an adventure/puzzle game
La escena donde lo amenaza con lanzarlo al vacio... es impresionantemente impactante lo real e inmersivo que se ve gracias al verdadero poder de esta actual generación de XBOX
I wished they would come out with a really good lengthy 4 hour demo for PC. I wasn't into the Like a Dragon but then played Erased his Name and 2 hours into the demo I was hooked. The frame rate on this game is bad, the graphics are amazing, I am not too thrilled about the first person choice but, if they can polish the mechanics and make a nice lengthy well written game and not cut back on anything with the final product when it goes Gold, I am in. They always screw up the final product. No pre orders... I wait to see what the ACG, The RadBrad, Hollow, and Brian Menard just to list a few have to say, yes Asmongold
Game looks good, but would a respectable archeologist as Indiana Jones break an ancient Egyptian hiding door to pieces in order to go in ? I don't think he ever did such a thing in the original trilogy.
Am I the only one who thinks the people and animations could look better? Sure, the sights are wonderful, but the animations seem a little off. This game is yet to impress me, from what I've seen so far. I hope the gameplay is good.
I'm also in the 3rd person perspective camp. Arguments that it would look the same as Uncharted or Tomb Raider are pointless - it's the same as saying: "Don't do another racing game with view from behind the wheel, because it would look the same as CmR, Dirt or NfS". Action adventure games utilizes 3rd person perspective for a reason. Widely understood parkour, fighting and interaction with environment plays important role in these and you can watch them more intensely when looking at the scene from the 3rd person perspective, because you see more details. Moreover, some moves like climbing stuff either would cause you nausea, or force to watch wall and floor up close during whole duration of the move (that's why designers are switching to 3rd person view anyway for those scenes). Finally, it allows you to admire the character, which played unarguably important role in TR, but IMO also plays important role in IJ - I'm talking about Indy's iconic fedora and whip. First person view plays key role in shooters, because to aim properly the eyes of protagonist and the viewfinder of the gun must be in one line with the target - it is next to impossible to do it realistically without first person view. That's why in the game industry we are talking about FPSes (as in: first person shooters), and the term FPV is used rather while talking about flying drones. And a final thought: I would pay really a lot of money for "just another Uncharted" or "just another Tomb Raider" (I'm talking about Legend-Anniversary-Underworld, not these "new" open world-survival monstrosities). Wouldn't you also?
Totally agree. They could just include 3rd person mode and still let that strange guys enjoy their unique FPS WITHOUT SHOOTING experience. Maybe they'll drop a 3rd person DLC later like Capcom did with RE.
@@raoulpinkett5253 I agree with you. Three person’s view is more enjoyable for this type of games, as you can see the full environment around the character and admire the work of game developers. I personally I will not spend time for this game. Anyway some people will enjoy this game 🙂
@@Notevenallowedtoburnwood first person is objectively better for exploring. you are closer and see in greater detail. thats the whole reason the game is in first person. first person melee combat is more iffy, but the game is not centered on combat.
it was just me or someone saw the fps dropping all the time e maaaaan, what is this graphics of xbox one, oh my , better compensated in gameplay and history, because the graphics is ok and the fps is terrible.
Hints everywhere, highlighted objects or him saying there is something behind the wall. It is more like walking simulator with a few action aspects. It looks boring
