Matt Ryan not asking to be traded after being drafted by the Falcons might be his biggest mistake. The choking curse followed him, and will never leave
My favourite part of this game was when the Colts declared “It’s losing time” and proceeded to lose all over the place in the second half. Truly a football team of all time.
I feel like Tree really missed an opportunity for "Days of our Vikings" this season. EVERY damn week has had gut-wrenching drama with this team. As a Vikings fan, I have no idea how my heart hasn't just exploded already.
Alcohol is a sedative, and if you aren't drinking, the tankards of ale that must be pervasive in Minnesota with that god-damn team can give you second-hand drunkenness. You're frauds, but damn if you aren't the most legit frauds in the NFL right now.
@@nautgamingnautgaming9949 Knockoff Karma from the Packers. All those wins we fraudulently got last few seasons needed to go somewhere. Woulda preferred the Lions, but at least it's not da Bears.
As a Colts fan, it is truly impressive that such guts, determination, and drive was shown. For the Colts. To retain their draft position. They pulled it out of the depths of hell of a mid-teens pick. What resiliency. Such strength. What skill. To pull out the L for draft position.
I wouldn’t really put it on the defense. The defense and special teams were pretty much carrying the Colts that first half as the offense only had one TD, which was a result of the Vikings fumbling the ball to Indy. Indy had both a block punt and an interception returned for TDs. The Vikings also had 2 failed 4th down conversions on their 31 yd line. The offense couldn’t do anything with it and only got 2 FGs. Once the second half came, the Vikings got their crap together and the defense couldn’t keep up with the lack of production on offense the entire game.
@@manguything6301 I’d argue it’s more on offense than defense when a lead like this is pissed away. Because usually these two things occur A. The offense gets lazy, 3 and outs galore. Bad clock management, no scoring B. The defense begins playing prevent type defense rather than the defense that has held them to so little points during the game. So essentially, bad coaching and bad offense = blown lead
IMHO both have the blame, the defense for, you know blowing a 30+ point lead and the offense for not even getting to field goal range on a regular basis and bad clock management, giving the d no time to rest
@@kingofgrim4761 yea I can see how you can get "lazy" after tirelessly working your ass off to get your team up 33 points in one half, has nothing to do with carrying all the weight, being fatigued or tired.
There was one detail that you overlooked, sir Tree. This was a double whammy curse. It wasn't JUST because Matt Ryan was on the team. It was because Indianapolis fired their head coach who just happened to be the PREVIOUS owner of the largest comeback in the history of football. Now that he's been fired, divine vengeance has come in the form of his ex-team blowing an even BIGGER lead than the one he came back from. Matt Ryan is the icing on the cake. (It's some pretty thick icing though, I'll give you that.)
Matt Ryan’s Legacy is set in motion. That being known as a choker. First it was 17-0 to the Niners in 2013, 28-3 in the Super Bowl against the Patriots, and now 33-0 to the Vikings. Jeff Saturday is gonna be the first interim coach to be fired.
If this season is hurting Tree, just imagine the postseason. Edit: mom i'm famous Edit 2: If tree makes through the postseason without ripping his eyes out of his eye sockets, I will drink water. Edit 3: bit late but I have to drink water Edit 4: I drank the water and died
I don’t even know what to say about this game. I don’t know whether to feel bad for Indy for pulling off the chokes to end all chokes or feel good for Minnesota for pulling off one of the greatest comebacks in NFL History. Truly the game to end all games.
Born and raised in Indiana and have always loved the Colts but god this season has just been pain to watch to the point to where I'm not even shocked anymore.
Looking back on the bills game after the colts and it is kind of crazy how many parallels there were between the two games Kirk drinking his Gatorade Ed Ingram tripping Kirk Being down by like 3 scores going into the 4th CJ Ham scoring the second touchdown in the comeback Getting the ball first in OT and not ending it Winning the game with a field goal
This game is a masterpiece, and requires a masterpiece to truly depict what we saw happen on the field. No offense tree, but a game of this sheer quality requires a Dorktown episode
Man, Paul Allen has stood everything Vikings related, at least on modern times. He probebly deserves to see a Super Bowl winning team as much as Bud Grant
@@jeremyjuggler2677what if your up 27-20 with 5 seconds left in the fourth quarter without any timeouts. And then throw a 100 yard pick six. And then they make the 2 point conversion. In the Super Bowl.
I was there! So damn cool. Even if it kind of proves we're frauds it's still cool to say I witnessed the Vikes pull off the biggest comeback ever. SKOL
Lol nah. Plenty of teams have been down 33 or more points. My VIKINGS are the ONLY team to EVER come back and win a game after being down that many points. It’s a revolutionary game in the history of the NFL, because now every team down 30 or more moving forward for the rest of time, will have hope that they can pull off a comeback like this. It’s changed the game forever
Actually Kirk Cousins tripped because his guard Ed Ingram stepped on him. It's happened 3 times this year. Ironically the other 2 times were in the Buffalo game, so I guess it's a good luck omen.
The Vikings franchise has been the unluckiest in the NFL. I think one more game-losing missed field goal will cause the universe to implode in on itself. In response, the football gods have blessed us with extraordinary luck this season, and despite the agents of chaos (the referees) doing everything in their power to make us lose, we keep winning. I don't know when the luck will run out, but the gods owe us at least one Superbowl.
Tree I love your content. Oh ya truly a plethora of sports info and comedy. But, as a colts fan, I can’t stomach watching this game all over again. I’ll see you next week Chief 🫡
As a Vikings fan I don’t think they’ll necessarily get all that far in the playoffs but honestly all of their wins this season have been like this so who’s to say they can’t just keep winning
My high school football was down 35-0 at the half during the D-1 city championship. We came back to win 35-38, and we went all the way to win the state championship. Football is a weird game indeed
Tree this is off topic but a monthly NHL recap would be awesome. I look foward to each Wednesday during the nfl season because they are truly epic. The maple leaf/ ballard vid is truly a magnum opis. Cheers and merry Christmas. Thank you for this channel.
I was at work when this game was being played. I remember checking the score and seeing it was 23-0, the again at it was 33-0 I was like "Man the Vikings completely blew this!" Then I checked it again a few hours later and saw the NFL app saying the game was going into overtime Absolute insanity
I remember seeing the score at 33-0 and thinking how much it was over, then I remember getting a notification later on in the day saying that Minnesota won and I was like, “What the heck? Minnesota won?”
You really can't blame the Colts for anything happening to the Packers this season. Aaron Rodgers pointed out what needed to be done *in the preseason.* The fact that Matt Lafleur thinks this is a video game & that the skill level of receivers doesn't matter, only the QB avatar's does is a level of ineptness seen far too often in coaches.
@@choosecarefully408 we’re not blaming the colts for the packers struggles, we’re mad that they blew that game, same as Vikings, bears, and lions fans would be if this happened to us
Great Job on this one.... You did make the true salient point, and I congratulate you... In the 2nd half, Indy was NOT trying to run clock.... I kept yelling at my tv THE CLOCK MUST RUN!!!!! It didn't help, they couldn't hear me, I'm 1700 miles away.....
The funniest thing about this season was the Vikings had 11 games where they one by one score. And yet there was no reason they had to do this. Vikings live to scare its fans
So, I seldom follow the NFL nowadays, but being from Minnesota has made it nigh impossible for me to ignore this Vikings team (because family keeps raving about them). In just this season, the Vikings have recorded their worst loss in franchise history, BUT also the largest comeback in league history. Not to mention their wins are mostly done with slim margins AND were already the victors of the “[other] greatest game”. Regardless of sport or how they’ll fare in the playoffs, HOW IS THIS TEAM REAL!?
If only there would be Greatest Game videos about games that are actually, well, great, for both sides. Still, this is truly the greatest game for Vikings with the comeback that nobody expected.
I genuinely feel bad for Matt Ryan...he's really not bad at all, sometimes inconsistent and makes bad plays but he's really a good QB....but his main problem has been sitting with terrible teams with a few good players on Offense and Defense....and yet his 3 most "memorable" games are 17-0, 28-0, and 33-0, all games where he did excellent in the first half, but as the defense started choking away, I suppose the pressure got to him and he started choking (which probably was in the back of his mind after the first game where they choked and it started eating at him every time they kept scoring more and more points, causing him to choke further). I think he's just under elite level QBing and wasn't anything super crazy, but I still feel terrible to have your "legacy" be 3 games where the team completely choked it.
As someone living on the Wisconsin-Minnesota border and has had to deal with Vikings fans acting like, because it was the biggest comeback ever, this game showed they were legit instead of one that basically gave themselves a black eye and then won a fight against a child, hearing Tree talk about how bad this game actually was and how both teams flat out embarrassed themselves was quite vindicating. The Comeback, a game that ironically featured former Colts coach Frank Reich in his greatest moment as a backup QB for the Bills, this is not. This is basically the Comeback if instead of both teams having one great half each, both teams had one half where they just absolutely sucked.
Jeff Saturday DOES have potential as a coach. He has the potential that a decently talented team can tank half a season badly enough so they can actually draft a top QB prospect and escape the purgatory of signing/trading for rejects
