Its not that nice ever around here. I hate it here in indianapolis. Bad schools housing is crapy. The the amount of houses being built is drastically rising the housing prices are way too much. If i were you i would choose to live in Brownsburg, carmel, fishers, or the south side right down meridian street by southport road. It has some pretty good houses being built that way. Otherwise dont live here it sucks.
@@artemjford1002 Lawrence for all of it's faults and loose pit bulls in certain areas is actually really nice by the military complex. The homes and restaurants are nice and affordable. Plus Fort Harrison is a great State Park.
@@artemjford1002 You complain about housing prices being too much and then you suggest people live in Carmel or Fishers instead ? I guess you think housing prices are cheaper in Carmel and Fishers ?
Lived here all my life. Nothing to complain about, except the streets.if you were given 50 cents for every chuck hole you,LL be rich in a matter of minutes
Didn’t know about the canal in downtown!! This summer I believe that loading up the kayaks and making a day trip to Indy from Lexington is a MUST!! Thanks for sharing
The canal downtown Indianapolis was originally supposed to be part of the Erie Canal. It actually stretches for about 8 miles, and actually crosses a creek via an acqueduct. In the downtown part, you can rent paddle boats.
This town looks so beautiful and relaxed. I am from Romania and Im currently learning about the USA and its states and it's all very fascinating although I don't want to move there, but just for fun and general knowledge. There is so much to discover about the USA!
Nice video! When I was really young back in the 80's NObody went downtown...it was dirty, crime-ridden....then it became SO beautiful & was the place to go. Unfortunately it's now taking a turn back toward the 80's 😬😢 Thank you for showcasing our city, this brings back memories of when it was beautiful. God Bless you 💕💕
yep true. We didn't do any prep like we normally do, because was not planning to do a video in Indy, but yea probably should have included areas like Eagle Creek.
probably the best Indianapolis video i’ve ever seen. and the most positive comments. i always say most people that come here like it. all the trolls....a lot have never been here. or they came in the 80s or early 90s. Indy grew so much after 2000 till now.
It is an underrated city. I stopped once travelling down from Chicago to Nashville in 2016 as nothing more than a lunch stop and I was pleasantly surprised. The downtown area is as nice as any outside the major ones on the coasts. Everything is in such close proximity like the Stadiums, Convention Center, Hospitals, University, State Capitol so theres a decent vibrancy which I have found lacking in a lot of other Midwestern and Southern Cities which have really felt the effects of white flight and deindustrialization. Its quite livable as well, lacks the congestion and living costs of the mega cities like Chicago, Atlanta etc never mind NYC and LA.
Actually its not too bad, this was shot 5 days ago. It is pretty well cleaned up. There are some businesses in downtown still boarded up, but there was still plenty to film. The Gov did good by sending in the National Guard very quick and put a stop to the rioting. Minneapolis could take a lesson from Indy in that regard.
There was one night, about 2 months ago. Windows got broke downtown. It wasn’t/isn’t bad. We are an underrated city, but I like it that way. Indy is a great city to live/work in.
For those that don't like/care to fly or drive, taking Amtrak to Indianapolis is an option. The Cardinal (New York to Chicago via Indianapolis) comes through three times a week. Indianapolis Union Station (the world's first Union Station opened here in 1853) is right downtown. Within walking distance is Lucas Oil Stadium (diagonally across the street from Union Station), Gainbridge Fieldhouse, hotels, nightclubs, restaurants, etc.
I moved back to Indianapolis in the 90s after serving in the military because the job market was good and the cost of living was great. You can get alot of house for the money here. BUT there are some social tradeoffs and they are REAL.
How is it vacationing there in the winter time? Especially with all of the Covid? Is it boring right now or still worth a visit? Thank you if you have the time to answer.Good day.
@@eivefoxx8312 if u have a family Id say move here . If you’re single and no family and like to do fun things DONT MOVE HERE! it’s boring ! But the price is wayyyyyyyyy cheaper than California. For nice housing move to carmel/fishers . About 20 something mins away from the city
One of my favorite cities. It was one of the few cities I've visited that is so clean you wouldn't even see gum let alone anything else on the ground.💯
Another great video. I lived in Bloomington for a year and only went to Indy to get to the airport (Indy has a really nice airport btw). Those fitness zones look great....outdoor exercise is a great stress reliever and use of public funds imo. Also, I appreciate that you see the GOOD in each city...I'm so sick of people only capitalizing on the bad of different places to get views and not highlighting the good too.
Yeah that's true but unfortunately today you can't use them because you just might get robbed or shot by a certain group of people who are now the it thing in sports and social media!! If your white your now the problem for systematic racism and owe them everything.
Great shots. The best time of year in indy is Memorial day weekend through end of June. Such beautiful weather. You highlighted all the spots I love to ride my bike through.
Listen to the police scanner at night, it will give you a better view. Bring your own body armor if you want to walk the canal, there isn't any for rent at the kiosk as of yet.
Indianapolis is one favorite us city. I been there for many times, my brother and my nephew were there. I love restaurants, stadium, airport, circle center mall. It beautiful city 😊 I love it
Good video! I live just south of Indianapolis and go to Christ Church Cathedral on the circle. I recommend going to St. Elmo's Steakhouse downtown. My only criticism is that you spelled Indiana wrong in the beginning. You accidentally spelled if as "Indianna." Keep up the good work!
We’re originally from Indy, and it will always be home to us. Indianapolis to Germany to Italy! Thanks for showing off our home in a lovely light!!! ❤️🏙❤️
If you come to indy things u need. A gun, multiple spare tires, roads are crap and a Who cares attitude because nobody cares about you or anything the rudest people you will ever meet. How do I know I DEAL WITH EVERYDAY FOR LAST 49 YEARS! GET WORSE DAILY
@@OfficialBlondeAndBoujee yes they have it's really a shame. I always carry to protect myself, my wife(I'm on her profile) and our children. These young cats now have no respect or ethics and it's scary. Its 15 to 17 yr old kids you gotta watch out for now. They're all carrying guns and looking for someone to kill. They just wanna throw their lives away.
@@mr.fleekofficial8715 right I got shot as an 18 year old here a good number of my friends are dead or in jail. Didn't even grow up on 38th and post either I grew up in nora
Born and rIsed here and I love my home Definitely not perfect. When I grew up everyone pitched in and kept neighborhood clean .wish some neighborhood would do that now But so love my hometown ❤
We have been planning Milwaukee the last 2 years, but weather and time did not cooperate. Even on this trip, I was close to buying a new vehicle in Milwaukee, but decided not to. That is a city we really want to do soon.
This was 5 days ago so actually it does like like this. The city is pretty much cleaned up. There were some boarded up businesses, but other than that was pretty clean. We were shocked in our research to find out that it does have a high crime rate than we thought, but I think like any city, there are good areas and there are bad areas.
I Agree Our Downtown Is 100 %Different Now Even our Parks AND River Dont Look Like That A lot of That Footage Looks Like From The Computer ,, I think Our City Wanted Him To Do This From The Damage Done
There are a lot of gems here in Indy if you look for them. The city is beautiful. However the people here, (some not all) can be like crabs in a bucket. 🤦🏽♀️

I live 10 minutes from downtown indy. Yes the crime is terrible and yes theres a lot of potholes. With any big city there will be crime. We live in the midwest so yes there will be potholes. All the positives about our city though outweighs the negative. I've lived here my entire life and I wouldn't trade it for the world! Even though indy is a big city it still feels so homely because everyone knows everyone.
Indy’s suburban sprawl and giant city limits make potholes worse. The low density development doesn’t yield enough tax revenue to pay for the enormous amount of road maintenance. Combine that with a lot of freeze-thaw cycles and state representatives pillaging our funds for rural projects and you get our Swiss cheese roads.
I have been born and raised here. I hate this place and want to move but can't because baby momma lives here. Weather sucks and most the people are not friendly or high because there is nothing to do and the ones that have money think they are better than everyone.
I've been a resident of the area for my entire life. This is a great representation of Indy but there is so much more! The Indianapolis Speedway has an entire history unto itself. There is Eagle Creek Park which is one of the best city-urban parks in the country. Just east of downtown is full of historic neighborhoods. North of downtown is Buttler-Tarkington and Broad Ripple. Broad Ripple is full of creativity, art, and food. There is also so much more to do and explore!
I've lived in Indy for 3 years. Our family is enjoying it. My youngest son dance for the Indiana Pacers "Blue and Gold Breakers" and he takes breakdance lessons at 31svn Street Dance Academy. His piano teacher is 89 years old and still giving lessons to over 50 kids and adults
Alguien que hable español? JAJA solo me metí a buscar porque me gustaría conocer estados unidos, y la neta Indianápolis me está gustando para visitar junto con nueva York, Miami, Chicago, las Vegas, los angeles and Oregon
‼️ SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL ❗ I don't know who could have did a better job, Indianapolis was my home during my young adult life, I was born in Muncie. I'm a 68 year old man now been living in Alabama for the past 30 years, interstate 65 north will take me straight on into Indianapolis, every time I get on it if something inside of me just wants to keep driving, I lived at 37th and crescent avenue and rode my bike in the Golden Hill Park edition with all my friends, went to the dairy Queen right there on northwestern I think it might be MLK boulevard now I'm not for sure, but after getting us some ice cream be used to jump the fence of crown Hill cemetery and run up to the top of the hill to see that big monument of James Whitcomb Riley. The days of Innocence, PRICELESS ‼️
In 2018 the company I used to work for sent several employees here for the Indy 500. I walked the streets of downtown for almost 2 miles, alone at 3am to reach our hotel...am I lucky to be alive?
Great video however Indy is nowhere near this nice anymore. Covid killed a lot of businesses then the city never quite recovered from the riots. There’s nothing to do here and the weather is horrible.
I’ve Been Here Born & Raised. The Best Places To Go Is The Circle Center Mall, We Have The Biggest Children Museum In The US, The Zoo Is Very Good Too Go If It’s Good Weather Out, Motor Speedway (If your a racecar fan & it’s the worlds largest racetrack), Newfields (54,000+ Artworks), White river state park has gardens, Trails, museums, concerts, and the zoo, Holiday Park & Eagle Creek Park are Very good to go to, Go to the monument circle in December and watch the shows/Christmas tree they have lit up
We're moving out of Indianapolis as soon as possible. Crime is out of control and the mayor has our police doing firemans watch. Sitting and waiting on calls instead of patrolling. After 38 years, we're leaving and moving out of this city.
