Nice effort....it's sufiana kalam.....their literal meaning are entirely different from the original meaning....and you said many Urdu speakers also can't understand it....I am good at such things because I take special interest in sufiana kalam....in this poet is explaining about the very important people like prophet's companions in jannah where he said "yahan maikada k imam Hain" means one of the most pious companion referring to Hazrat Ali (R.A) is the leading person of drinking place in Jannah. (That alcohol (Sharab) will not in anyway like the one in duniya(earth) it will the cleanist and sweetest Sharab which did not destroy your heart and soul. Whatever Allah prohibited for us in this duniya is not good in general and mostly proved by science now....and what HE has promised to give us in Jannah has no comparison with what is available in this duniya. I hope I make you understand a bit.

The Maikada in this poem refers to the house of knowledge and understanding of Islam. Where no one believes simply because they were born into the religion. It is a place full of Rind (Drinkers) of this divine knowledge who "drink" (gain knowledge) to get closer to God. The Sheikh is represented as an ignorant follower. The Rind is the knowledgeable follower. The Saqi is Hazrat Ali R.A, who is one of the teachers after Prophet Muhammad S.A.W who put in great effort to teach humanity how to behave as a true Muslim. I'll give you a few examples to understand the depth of the verses: #1. Jo Zara si pe kai behak gya usai Maikadai sai nikaal do, Yahan kam nazar ka guzar nahi, yahan parsaai haraam hai. English Translation: He who gets drunk off a few drops (of wine), throw them out of this tavern. There is no room here for the narrow-minded, there is only room for those who are pure at heart and open-minded. Explanation: Anyone who is not understanding of the religion and starts to complain rather than argue over the knowledge we pass, throw them out of this place. We only serve those who are open-minded and willing to expand their knowledge and understanding of God through dialogue, civil-arguments, assertive speaking and active listening. #2. Yeh haram nahi hai ai Sheikh jee, Yahan Parsaai haraam hai. English Translation: This is no mosque O Sheikh, innocence is forbidden here. Explanation: This is not a place in which you sit quietly and are forbidden to talk and ask questions and have arguments. Your arrogance and ignorance of the religion is forbidden here. Either enter to argue and expand upon our knowledge, or stay in the eternal darkness of ignorance you bind yourself to, and leave us. #3. Maikhanai sai Masjid tak pai gai Naksh-ai-pa, ya rind gai hon gay ya Sheikh gaya ho gaa. English Translation: Along the path from the mosque to the tavern are footprints, either the sheikh went to drink or the inebriated (drinkers of knowledge) came to pray. Explanation: This set of lines discusses an important theme in the poem. It talks about the difference between those who blindly pray and those with deeper understanding of God. And it speaks about THE DRINKERS (Of knowledge and Wisdom passed down from Hazrat Ali R.A to the people), and the Sheikh (who was born a Muslim and blindly follows the belief system like cattle that a Shepard herds). It speaks that between the tavern and the mosque are sets of footprints, so either the inebriated drinkers went to the mosque to pray with a belief built on knowledge and understanding, or the sheikh walked to the tavern to have a drink (real alcoholic drink) and make excuses to justify his actions because of his lack of understanding, belief and faith. This is one of those poems that most Pakistani people will not even understand. You can only fully understand it if you are at least an initiate in Sufi Philosophy. Hope those few verses's explanation helped you understand the meaning a little better.

I am not an expert but there are two types of poetic recitations in Islamic culture namely Hamd and Naat! Hamd is in praise of Allah and Naat is in praise Prophet Muhammad. Just that simple.

Hardest part is start from 6:00 you need excellent knowledge of urdu and history of islam after death of Mohamed(PBUH). Specially Hazrt Ali and Hussain. Najaf and karbala are the palaces were some history associated...... lot of urdu words are difficult to understand even well known person of urdu because they are used as personification and similes. Thats y am not going to translate these urdu words because they doesn't work

This is a sufiana Kalam. A disciple is addressing to his Spiritual Master and this is totally symbolic "Sharab" is used as a symbol for secret spiritual knowledge of pure form of human. The secret knowledge that Spiritual Master gives to his disciple for the purification of his soul. "Jo wahan peo tw Halal hai jo yahan peo tw Haram hai" it means that the secret spiritual knowledge can only be discussed with spiritual master and disciple has not permission to share that spiritual knowledge with every common people.

Actually yeh well known poet jigar muradabadi k kalam hai is k background yeh hai ki jigar saheb is drunken and some intellectual person organize mushaira in city ajmer in respect of prophet and extended invitation to jigar saheb he then politely declined because of his habit of drinking he say how i can write naat of prophet it's impossible for me but due to repeated requests jigar saheb accepted unfortunately when it was announced that jigar saheb will be attending mushaira there's revolt in public how a drunken be allowed.in this period of uncertainty jigar saheb written this kalam thereafter he hasn't touch the wine.this kalam have very deep meaning when he says maikada means it city of prophet (pbuh) madina and he says koi insan toh kya farishte bhi bagair wazu tera naam nahi letai it means without ambulation taking name of prophet (pbuh)is improper ---- actually it needs proper knowledge to understand this type of kalam even though i am Muslim iam unable catch exact meaning
