I live in Colorado, these mountains mean home for us

i live in Ohio. When I was almost 12, we went w/ my grand parents (and parents) on a trip around the USA, in my grand parent's mobile home & our friends went in theirs. John (our friend's) had a 'back-up driver', his eldest's boyfriend/fiancée, David. And dad was Papa's backup driver. So in Papa & Grammie's "Pace Arrow" camper/ mobile home, RV was me, my little sister, mom & dad, Papa & Grammie. IN their (John & Delores's) RV the Winnebago, Was John, Delores, their 2 kids, Tonja and Todd and David. The men planned the trip (Only fair since they were doing all the driving). And they were ambitious! We left Ohio headed into Pennsylvania, all I recall really there was the Poconos (Mountainous area) and we stopped in Philidelphia to see the Liberty Bell. (And other stuff, but I recall the Liberty Bell) then on to New York state to see the Statue of Liberty, then we headed down to Virginia to meet up w/ an Army Air Corps buddy of Papa's "George" and I think we camped there so they had time to catch up that evening. (Might have been the 2nd evening, or 3rd.) Then headed south through the Carolinas stopping here & there at places we wanted to see then continued through Georgia stopping at a few places on the way through. We'd stop at state or federal parks or KOA camping grounds (Most of which cost all of $10 or so a night to stay, get electric, dump sewage & fill up water back in 1978). Next stop I recall is New Orleans, Louisiana, and on to Texas to eat at the Original Blacks BBQ (plus lots of other stuff, it's the IMPORTANT stuff I remember!). Some Indian reservations in OK, or maybe NM? That was cool, saw the ancient Pueblo cliff dwellers places. Petrified Forrest was somewhere in there, then on to the Grand Canyon, Utah I swam in the Great Salt Lake on my Birthday - turned 12. Then up to Wyoming, Colorado, Montana & the other state that makes up 'four corners. You stand in this one spot and you are in 4 different states at the same time. I was 12, I thought it was way neato. ;) Then up to see "Old Faithful" Geyser & the rest of Yellowstone Park (well, the main stuff), then we made our way home to Ohio. So all in all went through 36(?) states I think out of 50. Tho some were 95% a 'drive through' a few miles to get to one we wanted to see more ;)

I'm from the Atlantic coast of the US, but I drove across the US to hike in the Rocky Mountains. I visited Yellowstone and Grand Teton national parks. It was wonderful.

Hi Ladies, let me guess? There Rocky 😂I've seen the Rocky Mountains while driving or flying over them and they look big and I wouldn't want to hike or climb them😲

ive crossed them id say 20 times in car and three times on motorcycle the Montana and Canada routes are the best but all routes are nice
