I watched this live, and most of the live chat was horrible. People were asking for first-party games and Smash reveals when the video is clearly about THIRD-PARTY games and developers. It sickens me.
And also, why are they expecting a new fighter after they just got 2 with one that's not even out yet. It makes even less sense when you realize this is an indie direct.
@aCCidental L00KS That's how it got worse though. People got so sick of people doing it for real that they started doing it to mock them. Next time hit up a site that livechats on their page below the embedded video.
The only worst thing I found outta this video actually wasn’t the video, it was the chat room. Everyone in that filthy chat room can be so ungrateful sometimes. Great showcase Mr. Ninty 👍
People dont go to their livestreams to read the chat. Unless you like reading obnoxious comments trying to be funny. In that case, if you use Twitch or RU-vid this shouldnt come as a shocker to you.
@@falchionlord8005 That's just the Nintendo fanbase at the end of the day. Though to be fair, Nintendo has robbed us of information in the past. Most of the time we are left guessing what they'll do to improve the system because we never find answers to fan's concerns. I do think people behaving and spamming in unrelated topics is annoying dont get me wrong. Im just not surprised people especially younger ones, to expect everything they want in any official Nintendo video.
Luigi I think all the people in the chat asking for smash and splatoon should also personally go apologise to a tree in the amazon rainforest for supplying them with oxygen

@MemeGod27 I could see them joking around with the Jojo references (I was following along with that). Though, they probably weren’t joking when some were mentioning Sans, Shantae and Waluigi for Smash. Some dude even mentioned Capcom vs SNK 3 so I guess he might’ve been joking.
I saw someone in the live chat say "Who cares about indies" as if there was anything other than that in the video. Go to school, stop being illiterate. It's an INDIE showcase, not a Nintendo direct.
Ori and the Blind Forest is one of my all time favourite games. It's only second to Hollow Knight in the Metroidvania genre. Salt and Sanctuary, and Guacamelee close behind.
@@thewaterman122 I love Ori but I can't agree with that. The game had heart but lacked content, unlike Hollow Knight with its challenging boss fights and deep lore. I am looking forward to Ori's sequel and hoping they expand on everything.
Ikr the leaks were true. I'm more excited about Risk of Rain 2 played it in early access on steam, its a Hella fun game amazing support seeing it on switch so fast!

Well spoken. That chat was filled with rude, toxic, and disrespectful people who have to be kids. I feel bad for the developers because they just wanted to show off their games only to get comments in the chat like "nobody cares". Most of that chat clearly didn't know what the name Indie Direct meant.

@@saxshton Well, in the 2018 game awards, Stanley Parable: ultra deluxe was confirmed to be an expansion/port of the Stanley Parable to consoles and PC with a significant amount of extra content like more endings. They didn't specify which consoles but in their website they said they would be trying to bring the game to "your favorite console" (ie the Xbox 1, PS4, and Switch since they're the biggest and only consoles of the current console generation) The Stanley Parable isn't very graphically demanding as well so it wouldn't need much optimization for switch. The thing that valve owns is the source engine that it uses, which does also mean it technically owns the proprietary software but here's the catch, this is only for the original pc release. The ultra deluxe uses the unity engine instead, meaning that valve basically owns nothing of the expanded version due to them not owning unity and since unity is supported on all platforms compared to the source engine it means it can be used for all consoles. The original idea/demo was made as a half life 2 mod but the actual full game used the portal 2 version of the source engine instead, with the ultra deluxe using unity. Minecraft is already on switch so the reference wouldn't be too out of the ordinary, the valve references are a bit more difficult to keep in but I think if they just kept them it would pretty cool and wouldn't cause much controversy. The game is releasing sometime this year.
Without looking it up, I think Untitled Goose Game is exclusive to some PC games service for awhile, that's why there's a delay. We'll get it when that expires. Hopefully soon.

@@aidangordon2713 Nintendo would not be interested in being purchased. They actually refused the offer in the past when Microsoft wanted to buy them to develop Xbox games.
@@KMExceeder I didn't watch stream but it didn't sound like an "Ignore the trolls" situation. People (more like little kids) were spamming and screaming in chat about seeing releases/dlc for games that are going to take a few years to develop on an INDIE SHOWCASE. I think that would be pretty hard to ignore and people deserve to be mad and rant about it.

My god the live chat was (mostly) disrespectful. People obviously put heaps of work into these games but the 8 year old kept on crying about smash and how it’s not a direct.
Holy...Ori is a game?! It looked like the most beautiful animation I'd ever seen! The beauty of the game and the atmosphere makes this become one of the few games that I immediately wanted right after seeing it.

"What we are (we're) you expecting" Bruh, all the times you see people mess up on stuff like when to use "your" or "you're" but now there's also people who obviously overcorrect instead and end up being wrong again. Were/we're are two different things with different usecases. When someone corrected you in the past it wasn't because "were" is spelled wrong and "we're" is the correct spelling every time.
Not sure about the new presentation style. Prefer the clean look of the previous Nindies and indies showcases. The bits of talking also seemed more stilted than usual; nearly as bad as the State of play VO. Still, games look great, finally Hotline miami! Youropa and Touryst also look great!

For those looking for Hollow Knight: Silksong, there's no announcement. Team Cherry likes to announce things on their own accord and only put announcements on their social media. The only time they announce things on other showcases is when the news has already been announced by Team Cherry. We just have to wait for TC to make an official statement for an announcement.
Was I the only one expecting to see Celeste's Farewell DLC? The fact that the achievements were updated in the Steam version really fed into my delusion that they'd be showcasing a DLC for an already-released game in this presentation. But then again, hindsight is 20/20...

There's so many games in here I want. I really hope a lot of these get physical releases, especially for Dungeon Defenders, Skater XL, Torchlight 2, Cat Quest 2, and Ori and the Blind Forest. What am I saying, they all look awesome and I'd like them all physically.
Honestly this showcase rekindled my hope for the games industry, I used to lament over how there's no quirky little games anymore coming out of companies and so on but this showcase was CHOCK full of them. Indies truly are where all the creativity in the industry has gone, I' so grateful for them, some of these games look absolutely outstanding.
