When i m read in class v or vii my maiteei phrend call me Hao Haomacha none of meiteei frd including tangkhul frd, kharam frd kukis we r somuch regret and angry because Meiteei use Hao as refer to chingmi tribal chaokhat taba sing... Even when we read again in imphal my maiteei phred call me Hao22 But now this Hao meaning was Meaiteei trying to snatch away from Tribal i don't know ??

In the early times, most of the valley was filled with water. Second: From mainland Indians to Meitei conversion, influenced by religion. Many Bengalis and mainland Indians took the title of Meiteis and turned themselves into Meiteis. Third: Intermarriages among many communities like Nepali, mainland Indian, Nagas, and Kukis since we live in the center. Before the Mangang clan dominated other clans, every clan had their own kings like Moirang Ningthou, etc. Meitei were made up of all the sub-tribes from the surrounding hills of Manipur. But now it has mixed with from the many communities too
