Because y’all call white people racist for anything they r not. That’s a very vile thing to say abt someone when it’s not true. Idk u but what if I said ur racist? You’d probably b hurt and frustrated cuz u aren’t... why black ppl think they THR only people on earth who hurt. Ignorant.
"Dear white people, every time we've written 'white people,' we've written it in lowercase because we are tired of you Capitalizing on our pain..." Kudos girl! Impassioned rhetoric, love it.
Damn that inspired me to start writing my Dear Half White People poem. Dear Half White People, stop acting like you face the same racial discriminations as darker skinded bruthas and sistas. Dear Half White People, time to accept that you have Light Privledge. Dear Half White People, stop acting like your skin and hair is so much better than others.
I wish I could go back in time a tell this to younger me this "whenever your teacher starts talking about slavery, and everyone turns to look at you swivel your head and turn around and search for what the fuck they clearly can't find ."
having come from the Bronx, I can easily understand the perspective and respect the conversation...unfortunately right now the only color of concern is green, those that have and those that don't...because they that have are manipulating and crushing the rest of us out of existence
there was this guy he was like a preacher or something he said something that was quite profound "judge a person by the content of their character not the color of their skin" but what does he know... clearly he has never met this outstanding hero of equality who was able to accurately judge an entire race of people in 5 minutes. lol that preacher would not stand a chance against her in a debate.
Stan Price you can’t ‘accurately’ judge a group of people. I believe in saying that you can’t judge a person just because of their race. People that are black, white, Mexican, Native American, and any other race are all the same. If we want to get rid of stereotypes, we have to get rid of all stereotypes. We all need to make changes.
I was not ready to be woken up like this. Like fr, I felt something inside me come alive after hearing this masterpiece. This poem didn't just have teeth, it had razor sharp fangs, and I do not feel bad for the colonizer who feels the life-ending bite around their throat.
as a white person, i am so so sorry for anything i’ve done to anyone if i’ve been racism i’m so sorry i try to educate myself but watching videos and talking to ppl i don’t wanna be like my ancestors i wanna change. i don’t want to hear “white people” and think negatively i don’t wanna be ashamed of my skins past. i want us to treat others right ik i can’t change the world but i can change myself hopefully that will help i am so sorry:
Why in the fuck are you apologizing? You did nothing to them, and nothing was done to them. Nobody alive in this country was a slave, and nobody alive in this country enslaved them.
this comment isn't really related to the poem but I'm kinda annoyed at some people for thinking that if they say white people can't dance or can't sing soulful songs people think it's funny and not offensive
@@boobabloobiSpoken like a true racist bigot. The fact that you think one group of people should have privilege for their skin color makes you the biggest racist of all.
So tired of this collective revenge complex toward Europeans. I not only gave zero guilt for being European, but I am extremely proud of my European ancestors and their accomplishments. I will not apologize or respond to bullshit arguments about colonialism or slavery. All peoples and nations have their sins.
As far as the transatlantic slave trade goes, the Africans committed the worst sins. Yet you'll never see these privileged morons ask for an apology or reparations from their fellow blacks.
Okay the first check was: Kyla Jenée Lacey with a piece called white privilege and the 2nd chic was: FreeQuency Let's support these young women. When they teach Edgar Poe we teach these 2 for starters.
@@starrr432 in recent years access to white people has become a human right. If you don’t like us try living in a country with only other black people. They exist and are crime ridden global trash heaps. The only a time a majority black country was developed and good (South Africa) it was being governed and ran by white people. Not to mention the rapid decline of Haiti after they killed their white masters.
this poem isn't that good to me because of the fact that if a white person did a poem on this a war would start in the comment sections a lot of people of color get mad at some white people for saying racist stuff but once a white person says something racist it's like a completely different thing like the person deserves to die or something. I also don't believe in generalizing but I do believe in majority. btw I'm not white I'm asian
preach to her honesty and passion🙌🏾...also generalization is not racism. Yes she generalized about all white people which is not great, no not all white people are racists. Did she degrade and dehumanize the worth and existence of white people ? No, so its not racism.
Honestly the only reason I’m hear is because of someone sending me the video I don’t really agree with what she is saying I think we should respect each other’s ideas
I'm sorry I love her poems but I am white and don't agree with anyone getting hurt killed by anyone without real cause but I have lived a life way worse then some of my black friends get to poor without food money walking the streets homeless at 6 I hate rasisism and every life matters but can I ask a question without being crucified please what is the difference of me being grouped into white like black being grouped isn't it all prejudices and I promise u my skin don't mean ppl don't look down on me bc they do not bc of my social status or income verse my color and then some with the color please no hate i dint know what it is like to be black or go through things as a black human being however I do have this question hope someone will respond
NirvanaD34th If you have such a problem with the poem then don't watch it ..... You choosing to be disrespectful to the writer is pissing me off how about you listen to the message then just maybe you can stop being so ignorant but I do find your saltiness hilarious though tbh and I find it so funny how you're criticizing people's poems when I don't see you writing one and presenting it out of your shitty mouth but in order to do so I suggest you take your own advice and get a book on how to write poetry at your library and while your at it educate yourself and maybe check out a book on how to not be an judgemental asshole
Wow, so someone can't disagree with the false statements made in a poem. I guess I could make a poem about how black people are pedophiles and you would just stay silent, right? Of course not, because if I did such a thing i would deserve all the criticism and berating I got for making such a retarded poem. Now, please don't construe that I am equating the two for that is not the case. She is simply misinformed and been brainwashed by a victim mentality which has clouded her vision of actual reality.
catmani2 do you see the U.S right now I'm not saying all white people are bad or racist because I KNOW for a fact that's not true but look at the U.S and tell me she doesn't have a right to be angry
catmani2 I do not agree with this at all, I have seen people victimizing themselves and this is not to any degree victimizing. She is pointing out what happens so commonly in society. Also like I have said so many times, don’t try to say that her experiences aren’t reality if you haven’t experienced it.
I am deeply. Deeply offended. I am White and I do not do any of these things. YOU are putting these stereotypes on Caucasians. If I EVER gave a speech or anything titled “dear Black people” or “dear brown people” I would get so much hate. And it’s not “white” it’s Caucasian .
So angry! Smh... Dear white people... I win..🎉😂 I dont live in a mental prison and am FREE of hate even through i have many reasons to be angry... I love you like God LOVE the church.. Love Juicie Collier
This disappoints me. Do white people make poem about black people like this one? This is racist not all white people are like that. Everyone's different
Just give up let her have her outdated opinions yes people not just white people are racist and indulged in slavery but the fact remains labeling white people like this is being racist she's being what she is calling white people how ironic. She needs to stop think about the number of family members around her then the people see interacts with daily i bet the number is under 100 people then count how many times them people be racist towards her i bet the numbers around 0 i hope so.
@@WAGgymSuperFan that little girls right this video shouldnt be about all white people being racist for I'm white and love people for their personality not there color. I am not racist and never will be and no one should be racist. Racism makes zero sense.
I have mixed feelings about the generalities mentioned in the poem. Not all white people are in the group she is speaking to, though I understand the concept of what she's trying to convey.
+Tanisha Campbell Thats the thing though. Obviously not all white people will share the same ideals, but this is for the white people who do wish that. There is not a collective "hivemind" deal going on, but look at it this way: Its not just one black person having to ask a white person not to touch their hair, or look at them in the classroom when slavery is mentioned, its enough of them that it's become a huge problem for black people.
+Josh Spartan But that isn't racism unless you are a POC the only issue here is that this sort of thing makes you personally uncomfortable, but that does not make it a racial issue at all, which is the point this poet is trying to convey
I dont think this should have been titled dear white people considering not all white people are racist. Some white people are racist but not all of them maybe dear racist white people would have been a better name for this poem.
No one cares about what u think and it’s a good name for this poem and she never said all of us were racist but some are and unless u wrote the poem h have no right to try to rename it if ur offended check ur self
You can tell she spoke a lot of truth in her poem based on the various racist white folks who had something negative to say lol. It basicly proves she was right about everything that was said in this poem. She went in👌🙃
