Awesome video, that kid is amazing. Love the collab n watching you inspire faith in someone to try something they think is beyond their capability is something i love about climbing an cool to see it play out in real time. I think she couldve sent that slab too but big respect for giving it her all. You both looked strong af. Magic wood looks pretty magical. Makes me wanna get outside n try hard, very inspiring content
Thank you! This makes me so happy to read! I think Kaelyn also could’ve done it as well, it just takes so much getting used to when transitioning to outdoors, not to mention the camera pressure!
Whale-power! Classic, I'll have to use that one next time a friend is beaching out. Also loved the campusing in Crocs. Couldn't help but think you were putting all those pull-up assessment vids to the real world test. Perfect segue!
I felt for Kaelyn on Big Cheese. She looked easily able to do it but it was so high and steep... I've been there on much lower grades, less high, thinking "If I manage to get up to this point, there's no going back... help!" Very inspiring though.
So relatable...slabs in scarpa veloces🤣 that's all I can wear now since tight, stiff shoes wrecked my feet and the struggle is real haha. They smear great though lol
I was so excited to see that this video has captions. Since it is really hard for a hard of hearing person to understand certain bits. But when I turned them on I did not get any captions idk if it's just my phone. Can someone pls tell me if they get captions on the video?
I always love the kooky music you add to your videos Anna. Can you share the musicians or tell me what they call this genre? This video was so much fun too!
Dude climbing outdoors is so much harder than good climbers make it look. I get frustrated because the setters at my gym set in an outdoor style (which makes the climbs harder for the grade than your typical gym), but it really makes a difference when you get outside and see that that V5 that you planned on jumping on is kinda hard AF….great video Anna and great job Kaelyn and little dude ✌🏽😃✌🏽
Yes!! It’s also hard to find gyms that regularly set in an outdoor style these days! Something I find a bit frustrating because I use indoors to train for outdoors haha
@@AnnaHazelnutt you’d love our gym then. People get frustrated because they’re used to climbing 2 or 3 grades higher than they’re able to at our gym. The setters pride themselves on no drop off from outdoors to indoors because they climb outdoors
I've done more sport outside, but a big thing is the feet are completely different. Your feet move you up, hands keep you on the wall, way more than indoor climbing I found.
I would recommend going with someone who goes outdoors a lot, so they can help with pad placements and spotting! Stay positive about it and don't go in with expectations from your indoor climbing grades-- outdoor climbing is so different, it takes a while to get used to the style and its best to go in with a learner's mindset. Oh, and leave no trace, brush your ticks, and be respectful while outside!
