Indoor football needs a lot more recognition. Went to a San Antonio Gunslingers game 2 years ago and barely anyone showed up! People don’t realize how much I’d pay to watch this.
Arena football has been around since the 80s. I’m not sure why everyone seems to just not remember. It’s been on like a 4 year hiatus but that’s it. It used to come on ESPN
the original and most successful Arena Football League is long gone. Players were actually paid 6 figure salaries. There were TV deals and thousands of people in attendance. Even video games. That MVP dude in this video is an ex D2 player. The skill level of AFL players were that of the modern UFL. NFL practice squad guys and NFL washouts. Still all D1 athletes. Sucks arena football has fallen this far.
Just left the Bay Area Panthers game like an hour ago. They were winning the whole game and lost with 19 seconds left to the San Diego Strike Force. It was a great game. Panthers won the championship last year. I had some run in arena 2 and a handful of Try-outs with Arena 1 teams. This is a good product and can make it, especially in cities that don’t have teams. It just needs a little more financial backing and exposure.
I played 3 years of arena ball back in 2011, 12 and 13 after I played a season in Canada in 2010. I played center. Them wide receivers are absolute psychopaths lol. I seen our receivers get put in the 3rd row going full speed and popped right back up lol. All that for $1000 a week before taxes and a chance to make it back to a higher level. It was so a lot of fun though.
My old team!! I was just with them a month ago. Now with a team in PA! Don’t sleep on indoor football. It’s a smaller league but it’s a stepping stone to the next level. I’ve seen the NFL scouts at practices N all🤟🏾🏈
its like they saw the NFL and all the brain damage reduction and the retired players and CTE and the early death and said "SCREW THAT" CARPET ON ICE!!!!!COME ON
Their best player in the whole league was a Division 2 college QB I remember when Arena Football actually had ex-NFL players and practice squad guys that were all division 1 players. Guys made like quarter to half a million a year on the top end and played in front of around 10,000 people. Essentially the talent and viewership level found in the current UFL.
I saw a football spin off called ice football where they play on a rink but it’s actually ice and it’s the funniest thing. Their 40 times are probably like 15s and they just waddle around the arena until someone scores 😂😂
I saw a game as a kid and it was so cool. If you caught a ball they let you keep it and if you were lucky like us you could ask the ball boy after the game and they’ll give you one. They also let us on the field to play around for a bit afterwards, it was a good time
Arena football is sick. Infact I heard the AFL is looking to make a comeback and they’re new business model is going to be more of a traveling league like Harlem Globetrotters
The IFL is great. Funnest sport I’ve ever been to. I’ve got front row season tickets to the wranglers. I don’t understand why everyone doesn’t go. It is 100 times more exciting than the NFL in my opinion.
I played indoor for 4 years. I saw people end their whole careers in practice on that wall. Nobody plays indoor bc they want to. Just keeping the dream alive while working to go higher. This ain't football but it is a sport.
