The house is looking so beautiful. The wood patterned tile in the shower looked awesome! You did a great job on the floor. I can’t imagine how sore your back was getting, but it had to be worth it because it looks perfect. You two have designed and built a very lovely home. Thank you for sharing this process with us.

This house continues to get more and more incredible. The attention to detail on the tilework (aligning the floor grid with the corner of the stairs!) is only found in self-builds and the most expensive mansions...

:) Yeah with some things I get a bit crazy and with others, people don't understand how I can leave it that way.. Like the concrete wall, if I decide to leave it, I will leave it with all the drips and pencil doodles..

Fantastic job! Is there anything you two can't do? The tile work and plant area design are impressive. The shower sink is very sleek and modern, though it does require frequent cleaning, as usual. I have a similar one installed in my bathroom. Can't wait for your next videos! Cheers!

That tile leveling system is a game changer. I did my floor with 60x120cm tiles and it went so fast and perfect. But I layed out the tiles randomly, but always an overlap of more then 1/3th. I think it looks nicer with such big tiles. No straight lines in both directions and no repetition. But it took some planning not to have a pattern after a few rows. The indoor garden is a nice idea.
@lignumchannel
@lignumchannel 15 дней назад
That didn't come across my mind but I think it would look good. Now I wonder if maybe I should have put more thought into it.. Glad you like the garden! I'm really happy how it turned out and hopefully it will look better and better as the plants grow..

It looks great. The garden is a nice touch. The ends of the support rods for the stairs need to be cut flush with the nut. I would hate to be working in the garden and catch one in the back of the head.

Great job! I confirm that the porcelain stoneware was chosen correctly and installed without seams or thresholds throughout the entire first floor area. I did this in my house in 2015 (and I also have warm water floor heating and semi-dry sand cement screed) and still no problems. Even taking into account that the glue was applied only on the floor ;)
@lignumchannel
@lignumchannel 15 дней назад
Thank you very much!:) I'm really happy to hear that, I have some worries on narrow areas at the doors that heath changes wont lead to cracks but hopefully everything will be ok. I put glass fiber mesh in those areas in the glue layer to reinforce it and that should help a lot.

Nice how the tiles continue trough all the rooms, we didn't see the cuts gone wrong but it must have been many. The plants make a nice contrast with the concrete wall behind, and create a good indoor climate as well.

3 broken tiles and a few cuts I wasn't satisfied with but fortunately was able to use them elsewhere. I'm still thinking about using the same tiles outside on the terrace to get a continuous floor but still haven decided.. Yes the garden really turned out better than I expected.. Now we just have to wait for the plants to grow :)

I am very curious to see more as each video continues to reveal your almost unreal but perfectly executed vision. Btw I thought using a penetrant to mix the first layer of glue was a fantastic idea, if I understood correctly.

three of them but I managed to use the pieces where smaller ones were needed:) Worst thing was that they broke after applying glue so I had to wash them and in that time I could lay two more.. But I learned a lot:) Yeah me too but I't is really time to move in and I'm afraid I will have no time with all the regular work for the company to make a kitchen myself.. I will probably have to order it.. But there is still a lot of other furniture for me to do and I hope I wont disappoint..

I'm late on this one because of a bout of flu, but: - The inner garden is gorgeous! And having every plant in its own pot, genius. - Being your house flooded with natural light from almost every angle, the chosen dark tile colour palette looks great. - I'm nonetheless puzzled by your waterproofing the bathroom (4:50) before applying the tiles. I mean, the tiles adhesive is supposed to be waterproof and so are the grout and the tiles. Or is it something done usually in your area to mitigate earthquake damage (cracks)?

@@lignumchannel You're troweling the thinset in parallel lines which is the right way to do it. As a result, the ridges collapse in one direction thus giving 100% coverage

It feels like it has been quite a while since you last showed of the amazing progress on your house but having watched that, I can see why: those floor tiles are massive! Not only do they look tough to maneuver around but I would be so paranoid when doing the cut outs (c'mon, it's a safe space here, were there many casualties in your pursuit of perfection? 😉) Loving the integrated indoor planting as well. It feels like it softens the large flat walls nicely. Keep up the amazing work

3 broken while laying and a fer where I didn't apply measure twice cut once rule.. Not too bad though;) Yes I'm really happy with the garden. @lignumchannel
@lignumchannel 16 дней назад
That's why I love movie magic:) You don't have to edit in the same order you filmed;) As for the stairs, those treads are temporary, final ones will be much thicker and cover the steel from all sides. That's why I left the rods longer, after I install the final treads, excess will be cut off..
