Much better explanation than the first one. The only thing I dont like is that the magnetic field being created by electrons moving in the same direction is described as rotating. I believe it is not moving, but more like a force in a ring. So arrows more than animated moving dotted lines?

Thanks. Lots of great information. Now that you've discussed DC, stepper and induction motors, can you also do a segment explaining servo motors? I've seen them when hard drives are taken apart, but it is far from clear to me how they actually work.

I still dont understand how it can rotate for example 40hz when AC frequency is 60hz. Magnetic fields are exactly out of phase

So firstly, the shaft will never rotate at the exact speed that as the magentic field due to varying factors causing resistance, most notably the load. The difference between the two rotation speeds is known as slip normally measured as a percentage. So a 4 pole 3 phase induction motor might operate with 50Hz, which translates into 1500 RPM, but it might only operate at 1450RPM so has a slip of 3.3%, this will vary between different motors or even the same motor with different loads. However for many reasons we will want to vary that rotation speed. For that a variable frequency drive is used, this converts AC to DC then DC back to AC. So we can convert 50Hz mains AC into whatever frequency we need to drive the motor a the required RPM. This also converts the voltage with it, as it's important to keep the same voltage to frequency ratio.
