How can she put so much emotion in the song that she is having to read the words while she is singing? That alone in crazy but then put all of the emotion she puts in it is just crazy unbelievable. I love her and all of her songs. She is the best singer I have ever heard, and I'm 71.
Watch the guitarist. He is right there, next to her, live... and he is very obviously feeling what she is throwing down. She is definitely my favorite singer. The emotion she causes those listening to experience is so powerful.

In this song, comparing the two versions (original by Adele and the cover of Angelina),she at 12 years old, is for me more emotional and profound, with tones in a wider range than that of Adele.😊 ❤️ And her way of representing all this is always so simple, calm, intimate that you can really listen to it over and over again all day, it accompanies you, comforts you, caresses you with those notes that glide gently around you, it is something so intimate that none of the other great young singers can match. 🤗
I've been looking for your reaction to this one. Can you imagine being Ivan and getting to accompany Angelina when she sang this? The first time I heard this I cried through the whole thing. I felt she really had lived a million years ago and I felt all the pain she sang out.

I introduced a friend to Angelina with this song. I wanted to show off another tune but he only wanted to hear A Million Years Ago. Again and again and again.....like forever. She must be some kind of CIA psy-op agent thats' rewiring our brains.
Most people are really impressed by her low register in this song and it's terrific, but the way she sings the chorus ... ? Sorry I don't have the words to describe it. I sometimes think, "I'm going to make it through this without crying." Then she sings that "I miss my mother" line and just breaks my heart.
When she covers ballads by any top artists like Adele or Rhianna, she simply proceeds to own them. The emotions that she invokes is just so more intense than the original artists renditions. The are great, for sure, but they in no way reach the level of excellence of this young girl.

One of the most beautiful covers of a song ever, hard to say that because this young lady just takes these songs to a whole another level. The most pure, unedited, unadulterated raw vocals you will ever hear. No nonsense, a guitar, a mike and Angelina. Nice reaction again Cliff. There are some good singers out there now, Dimash, Diana, Aurora, etc...none of them can put the emotion into a song and make you feel it like this young lady.
Why did I not notice this song at all in the past? By chance one day I heard Angelina singing it, and suddenly it's one of my favorite songs. What is she doing? She is music.
The guitarist, Ivan Menendez, in an interview said he was unfamiliar with the song but that they played it a couple of times before making this recording. You can see Angelina checking the lyrics from time to time. A true prodigy.

A ton of emotions thrown at us. A world class performance in a minimalistic setting.... and then a cheerful "Bye!" at the end. A fun fact about the guitarist, Ivan Mendez: This recording was done in Los Angeles, where he lives. They had this session in the evening after Ivan had ended his work for the day. He didn't know what songs they were going to do that evening. They hang out a bit where Angelinas family lived in LA at the time before they started to work on the music. She suggested this song, but since Ivan had never heard it before he had to learn it on the spot. Then they pressed REC and this is the magic that came out... He is just brilliant when it comes to follow Angelinas lead.
I agree with the suggestion, " I'm Still Holding Out for you " . A Million Years Ago is one of my all time favourite Adele tracks, but I couldn't ever listen to it again having heard Angelina's version....she is off the scale!

What a great song, what a great rendition. Cliff, it's OK that you close your eyes sometimes, the problem here was that Ivan the guitarist was so captivated by Angelina's singing that he closed his eyes, he almost got lost in there. I can't imagine what it would have been like if Angelina didn't need to read the lyrics and that Ivan could have kept his cool... - but perhaps the rawness of this performance adds to the magic...

Her special skill is that she is a storyteller. many artists simply sing words and put on a show. Not Angelina, she tells the story of the song, she reaches into our souls, with her sincerity.
