Beardyman was doing loops before they made comps for it. He also uses a lot more equipment than just a looper thats why he doesnt compete. Hes just too big. If you check out his underbelly club videos he does. Some mad improv genre melding.

I don't think he invented it, as there were other loopers around his time, but he is definitely one of the pioneers of the modern looping scene, was looping before it was really even a thing, and he carved out his own niche within the super early looping scene.

I'd say BEARDY has a stronger improvisational muscle than Harry Mack, not when it comes to connecting words and the poetic side but sheer control of his instantaneous musical processing, both are legends and inspire me immensely

Considering he has to use all the technology which changes and evolves with time, and his ability to synthesise his voice into any sound and any style of music instantly, I agree... Harry is the goat of freestyle, undeniably, Beardyman is a phenomenal musical talent that can't really be compared to anyone out there.

He's such a musical genius. Whenever he puts out a video, you never have any idea where it's going to go, but it's always somewhere good and weird and strange and funny and I'm always down for it. I feel like I just woke up from some kind of insane trance by the end of all of his videos.

Beardyman was a judge at this event, and did a non-comp show. (You can understand why he's a judge). 2x UK beatbox champ, 3rd year, he comes in with looping on chaos pads, and has never stopped. That rig is a custom built Appleton production station that's been in years in the making, including wiping and starting from scratch. As said before, the godfather of live beatbox loopping. Oh, he has some talent

BEARDYMAN was a judge on GBB 19 Loopstation, you can see him in other videos sitting in the Judge table, also AFAIK all his stuff is freestyle, there's no stablished routine. Much love man keep it up!

Glad to see someone discovering what is beardyman ^^ after this, he took into the beard the way the loopers and beatboxers did and worked with transitions. And in my mind he evolved even better with smoother transitions between mixes. Instead of lots of noice and boom new song start/structure.

YES YES YES YES YEEEEEESSSS! Thank you! Beardyman is imho the G.O.A.T. (except maybe Pentatonix) but hardly anybody has ever heard of him. Thank you so much for doing this. Edit: Oh btw, yes everything he does is improvised. ;) Watch his older performances where he picks random, made up song titles plus genres from the audience and just creates amazing tunes out of nothing. For example the "One Album Per Hour" concert. It's just amazing :)

beardyman got to the level where the equipment in existence couldn't keep up with him and do what he needed so he literally learnt to code and worked with some people to create a software to use. He calls it the beardytron. i first saw beardyman in 2010 and he's continually blown me away. his understanding of music is crazy. he can create anything on the spot to sound just like it. in his early sets he'd incorporate humour too, and he's a funny guy. so talented

Beardyman has always been my absolute favourite since I first discovered him 2007ish - he just has an innate understanding of musicality that can often be missing from the overly technical beatboxers. There are definitely better beatboxers, but none can make music from their sounds the way Darren can. Seen him live twice now, once when this 'loop station' setup was brand new, it kept crashing and hanging lol, and once recently which was basically a full on D&B/Jungle rave!

Doing Bestival MainStage and Glastonbury with a mic; the first mainstream showcase Doing beatbox tv ads and tv shows; first person since Winslow on police academy He’s inspired who knows how many musicians The dude literally set the path for how beatbox battles are now (technique+rhythm etc over just rhythm assist for rap) , loop stations competitions, and mainstream beatbox (RU-vid twitch etc etc) Any beatboxers that don’t know him need to know him.

You should check out his youtube channel. His current setup is so wicked. He can create or recreate any music using just his voice and his custom developed equipment in seconds. (he has employed a company to create a custom software just for him, that makes him be able to create whatever he wants) He is insanely talented.
