There seems to be a lot more parity between cars in IndyCar which is why the casual or new fanbase probably enjoy the races more (closer finishes and more wheel to wheel action). More F1 races considered "boring" because of the lack of parity and the huge gaps between teams I believe. But I have to say, the "entertaining" F1 races are my absolute favourites! I love IndyCar though I can't stand Nascar racing!
Being at the race was a blast. Both before and after many of the drivers were out and about and you could shake hands or give a high five. Crews after the race were available to talk and I chatted with one of Hinchcliffe's mechanics about brake rotor wear patterns. It was great atmosphere and just a lot of fun to be there. And yes, the cars look really great again.
I really hope Indycar becomes more popular in Europe and The Netherlands. I know so many people getting exited for boring F1, while almost no one even knows what Indycar is.
I'm a F1 fan since 2015, and now I'm going to start following the next indicar season, despite this F1 season is one of the best seasons in the modern era
Geric47, Road America is an AWESOME track in a beautiful state of Wisconsin. Every turn is a terrific viewing place for the race car action. you NEEEED to go!
Yeah agreed... I'm a casual race fan and trying to get into it more but Nascar is just too dang long.. i like how this and F1 you can watch the whole race and even the post race in an appropriate amount if time
What a great sight that is at Road America, gorgous venue, great crowd, camping, tailgating and ohh yeah that performance by Rossi was kind of impressive as well.
N Johnson F1 should forget racing, Indy Car is faster and more exciting. The cars look pretty similar too. Anyone who doesn’t watch Indy Car or F1 would think they are the same sport.
Evan Nagy indy cars are actually faster than f1 cars but f1 cars reach their top speed way faster. and they have better downforce so an f1 car would smoke and indy car on a track like this. On an oval track indy cars would win because they have more time to reach their top speed and would eventually pass the f1 car and stay ahead
The Yung tr both cars are incredible, F1 is faster than Indy Car in a Circuit and Indy is faster that F1 in an oval like Indianapolis or Pocono. But you can't say that IndyCar is, in general, faster than F1. One is faster in the circuit that the other doesn't use or it's not thought to race there. In my opinion, the engineers build the car to win in indy 500 and they modify them to race in route circuits. Resuming they are pretty the same, but with different technologies.
I'm an F1 fan but have admit I think this track is probably the best one in the world. When I used to to play Forza I would just run lap after lap here solo just trying to improve my time.
That would mean massive modifications to the track which will be costly and that will destroy the magic and unique vibe of the circuit. 40 years ago, yeah this would've been a potentially good replacement to Watkins Glen.
I want to say that as a product of watching Indy car races, my fanatism is increasing. The worst part is they, here in Europe, we only have the races. There isn't a channel that let us watch the qualification.
This was exciting! I like seeing an extended highlights video, it's like a movie, you know stuff happened between the crucial moments, but cut that out and still tell the story. Maybe F1 channels should do this. I'll definitely be watching more Indy.
I’m Gen Z and I’m getting super hooked on INDYCAR. Probably because I found out about the old Marlboro/Penske cars and Nigel Mansell’s T93/00 I used to be a die hard F1 fan, used to watch the old races but modern F1 is so boring because the cars are so long. Battles and overtakes are almost impossible.
@@gustavoechevarria9369 that's fine with me. Besides they have social media and millennial drivers on lock down. That Gen is aging now. We have something f1 doesn't the 500 no race even comes close. Keep spreading the word 1 person at a time.
All people complaining about F1 need to realise that it isn't a spec series and should never become one. It's not only a drivers' series, but also constructors'. Also, cars are massively faster than IndyCar, therefore drivers need to be better overall. Not saying that IndyCar is bad, but they are completely different series
Napa better wise up and stick with Alex for next season. I do not want Penske getting their greedy paws on him. They already have Newgarden, Power and Pagenaud. Seems all too cliche. Dominant driver goes to Penske, no no no.
Edward Peraza if he wins the championship it should be easy for Napa to sign on full time. I think Michael would pay him out of his own pocket to keep him. Indycar needs to implement a cap no more then three cars per team.
@@gstate4ever Add to the fact that Honda will also do everything to keep their star boy Rossi. It's a lesson learned after Simon Pagenaud, who was one of Honda's star drivers about 5 years ago when he was still driving for SPM, was snatched up by Penske.
@@gagemcpherson4454 yeah I noticed. But I figured if enough people ask, maybe they will, unless there is some sort of legal issue with NBC and IndyCar with thier agreement with broadcasting. Who knows.
@@LordJLawI hope NBC opens up next year by not only helping the IndyCar series broker international TV deals (not just Viasat or Sky Sports F1 which offer amazing coverage) but also allowing them to post all the races on RU-vid as they did before this year. NBC and IndyCar need to realize that for the sport to grow, they'll need to make race weekend coverage more accessible and they need a whole lot of promotion to do it. That's why accessible TV and live streaming deals do the best promotion.
There are three in the booth and 3-4 on pit lane. Road America is the "transition race" for NBC this year as Marty moves to NASCAR. The pit voices are calling the action as they are sitting on the pit box with notes. The producers make pit lane integral to coverage and not an afterthought (see FOM TV-Sky).
NY Fire Dept. Chief: Drivers, start your engines! Drivers: We would love to...but we are locked in the cockpit and need about 5 dudes back at the engine to get that done. Why not get rid of this nonsense? Its ridiculous. At least make it accurate!
