Ain't that the truth. I'm almost half way through and I have filled in so many learning gaps in the past half hour watching this than I have in the past 5 years learning OSPF. He explains things in a way that while he brings you along, he breaks things down into segments and each segment flows into the following to where you are left with little to no questions/doubts. Bogart is simply the man.

It might sound ridiculous, but I like it dumbed down. I like it simple and understanding logically what the purpose is for protocols, services, etc. Keep it straight-forward without the fancy fluff terms.

Thank you. I am preparing for a Juniper certification, but since this is vendor neutral, it helps me a lot, so thanks.

I really enjoyed this one, Keith. Thanks! I always had a hard time remembering 1/2/3/4/5 types, but the diagrams helped tremendously. Still a rediculous routing protocol with NSSA/Totally NSSA etc, but this was half the battle 😝

That's a cool LSA workshop which explains the roles of LSAs in a great detail. I believe, this webinar is helpful for anyone who needs to clear some confusions. Do you provide CCDE bootcamp on INE or do you have such plan for the future Kevin ? I am really interested in this program after passing CCIE exam.

at 34:46 does anyone know to which router 22.22.22.1 belongs? It's not present in the topology from what I see. [edit] Okay now I see the topology has a typo. The interface facing R2 on CSR2 should be 22.22.22.1 not 22.22.22.22.

When we connect 2 routers via serial link and configure as P2P network type, there will be 2 entries in the LSA type 1, one entry is point-to-point and another is stub network. Even though we have only 1 physical serial link but we get 2 links count, We have OSPF neighbor the other end but it is considered as sutb network, this is really confusing.

Are Type 1/2/3 LSA received by 1 Router forwarded forward to another Router? If CSR1 and CSR 2 in Area 51 were DRs advertising their respective networks, how do they learn about each other's networks if BDRs were not forwarding them back and forth?

great video lessons as always! can't thank you enough, Keith! just a quick one, tho. on 24:14 - (re. LSA MAX AGE), the lsa from R2's link to R1's G0/2 has already reached the 1800th mark (1821 to be exact), but it looks like it hasn't been purged and is still on sequence "2A". what happened there? was the max age explicitly configured? i would really love to know Sir.

how do we reduce type 4 lsa translations
@networkgeek5091
@networkgeek5091 4 года назад
Hey Keith,Thanks for the tutorial although I understood the mechanism of LSA you explained, but still struggling with this that y Area 51 needs type 4, Type 1 LSA and Type 2 LSA are combined to build Type 3 ,Type 3 are advertised by CSR1 to Area 51,Then by this logic Area 51 should know how to reach ASBR
@networkgeek5091
@networkgeek5091 4 года назад
or is this the case where CSR2 in Area51 doesn't know the router which is generating type 5(but it knows sw2 from type 3... and it's the same who is sending type5) and type 4 act as a lookup for type 5 generating router?
