Many many years ago (2002) on a tag along I was instructed to utilise low range. Every single attempt failed, torque just digging down not driving forward. (Ours was Auto) Companion was instructed same in their vehicle, like me failed every attempt. (Manual) I knew what was wrong, so once the group drove off, I selected high range 1st gear and went straight over, taking a photograph of the convoy driving off to the west to prove we did it. Since that day, I've always concurred big red in high range. Rarely use low on any sand driving as torque delivery loves to dig, not drive. Yes, I do lower pressures, mostly 15 front, 18 rear on sand, go down to 12 on occasions to utilise lowrange when required, Nolan Brooke etc. deep water, soft sand.
