Hello Matthew I learn alot from your other old videos I start with nano tank now I got a 125 gallon and very happy with it keep up the videos to keep people in the Hobby and we keep watching your videos. Thanks
You dont need RODI water for fish and rock only tank. Just use tap water and throw in some Seachem prime and stability until ammonia and nitrides zero out.
On the sps build you said orbit 4 but showed the orbit 2. Orbit 2 seems capable so did you mean to say orbit 2? Nevermind watched again and saw the disclaimer 😊
I was super lucky I got a 110 gallon setup it just costed me time to move it and my rodi that I already had setup for a smaller tank I have running and getting a new pump for the tank
Definitely, but it depends on the coral. The glow is designed to make phosphorescent corals pop, and while there are some soft corals that have this characteristic, there are definitely more sps that will benefit!
Hey Jamie, great question. I would need a little more information from you. Orphek absolutely makes great lights. I haven't personally used them, but have some friends that swear by them. When considering if you want more for SPS, consider these two factors. PAR and shadowing. PAR is easily measure using a PAR meter throughout the tank, but shadowing is a bit more tricky. When the hobby started making smaller light fixtures, puck style like the AI Prime and Ecotech Radions, SPS hobbyist noticed a couple things. First, their SPS absolutely grew but second, they grew in a different way. Single light fixtures cause lots of shadowing, which over time can lead to stunted growth in the shadow areas where PAR is significantly less. So, we have started using supplemental longer light bars, like the AI Blades. So this is a long way to not really answer your question, but I hope you know what to look for on your system. The more even the light spread, the less shadowing, and the better for your SPS corals. Happy Reefing! -Matthew
It definitely is quite a lot of money. But two things to consider. First, if you compare it to other high end tanks, it's significantly cheaper. And second, if you are willing to get used gear and clean things yourself, you can save a ton of money! :-)
So this video does not show the cheapest way possible. If you are willing to search for used gear and clean it yourself, and don't go with name brand lights... You can do this for much less money! So don't be discouraged!
