Couple of changes since this was made, bowfa with full crystal is a solid budget option for inferno, it is solid DPS on the waves and about 10% worse on zuk than tbow (dramatically better than acb). Zaryte vambraces exist now as well, so those in combination with assembler are better for DPS on jads and zuk, barrows gloves still perfectly acceptable.
was going to add as well, use amethyst darts when learning now instead of rune, as they are cheaper than rune and slightly better now that they exist. Then switch to dragon
I recommend using Eldritch Nightmare Staff over SGS since Inferno monsters have far less Magic defence over Melee defence. It's spec Invocate using 55% of the spec bar and restores 50% of damage dealt in prayer points. Lightbearer ring from the new raid Tombs of Amascut I recommend if you want accelerated special attacks. Blowpipe spec heals you.
Might be useful someday you never know, gonna send my first attempt later today and I watched this first way back when it first came out, now it’s gonna be helpful to me
Really nicely made with good info, glad to have another useful Inferno Guide out there. Few things to note: Good old Veracs Helm certainly cheap and underrated compared to Justi Helm, also a little nitpick for 13:00 with blobs - they check your prayer on tick 1, and attack on tick 4, with 2 ticks inbetween each for a total of a 6 tick cycle, i.e: | check two three attack five six | repeat, wiki description/in vid isn't right with the timings. Assembler is a max hit for potted with rigour on ddarts & likely for bat drains in some scenarios (minor but there is a difference), I'd agree for first cape it is non-relevant though.
I know it's old, but this is hands down the best tool I had getting my cape. I legitimately have referred people here, to this specific video, in-game as my advice to them. Got my cape a couple months ago, couldn't have done it without you. Nothing is a substitute for experience, you won't get it until you do it, but this video gives you the perfect feeling of what it's like so at least you know what you are trying to get.
Gnome easily makes the best osrs guides out there. The man doesn't miss. When he makes a guide, you know it is 100% thought-out and not missing anything. I'll use this to get mine when I finally have a tbow.
You really don't need a Tbow to do it. Tbow just makes kills a bit faster but it's absolutely not needed. You just have to ride out mage kills and zuk a little longer that's literally the only difference and the only time you would even use it. And to tell people they shouldn't go for the cape without a 800m+ item is pretty ridiculous but that's just my opinion.
Awesome guide. I love how you make it slightly humorous at times, emphasizing that it's just a game, a failed run isn't the end of the world, learn from your mistakes. Gonna max in about a month from now, chill a bit after that and go for the cape. Coming back to this guide then!
I just got my cape today, but it’s still nice to revisit all the inferno guides as a sort of victory reaffirmation that all I had learnt was put to the test.
I probably will never have the mechanical skills to get an infernal cape (horrible at prayer flicking and any tick mechanics) but I shall watch this whole thing because your guides are perfection... and your voice is so relaxing hahaha!
This channel is a serious hidden gem. Most guide channels are just reading off wiki pages, but gnomonkey gives detailed, invaluable information that comes from his own experience that you often can't find elsewhere.
Im so excited to see this. I am still a long way from trying, but thank you for reaffirming my idea that I should grind for money and get a tbow first. I have finally started learning TOB and your guide for that has been a massive help too, so I am sure this one will help me out when I come back to it in a few months.
I have no plans to try inferno, but I'm still watching this video. I see other youtubers doing inferno so it's nice to have some context as to exactly what they're doing and why.
Thanks a lot gnomonkey. I'm currently going for the Infernal Cape on my Iron and I'll be using this as a bible for the duration, along with the other great tools you mentioned!
Nice guide. Only change Id probably make is leave the SGS at home. Waste of an inv slot if you’re good. And waste if you’re learning because it slows down your progress to getting good. If you dont camp specs the restore is better. But camping specs = learn way slower and much longer for cape in long run. You should have more that enough prYer for a run even with close to minimal flicking
I am starting runs today with bowfa and Crystal armor. I decided to just try and send it with what I have since I am already decent at flicking pray. I think I am gonna opt out of bringing sgs because I don’t see the sgs making the difference between success and failure. I’m going in with the mind set that I am just going to get comfortable flicking multiple mobs at once.
Great guide. For anyone struggling to 1t flick use the metronome plugin that makes it very easy. Also you didnt touch on it in the guide but when you're 1t flicking and the mager resurrects a monster, keep the rhythm because it will line up normally
For anybody who thinks you need 99 range and magic or 90+ defense. You do NOT need even close to this high of stats. 85 range and Hp is plenty if you can just be calm and prayer flick correctly. Bring lots of blood barrage if you can’t flick well and you’ll be fine. If it can be done on a 1 defense pure, then it’s really not that daunting, just keep that In mind!
With the new rune pouch able to fit water runes, would you recommend ditching the kodai for an eldritch staff so you gain access to the passive extra prayer specs for net 0 change in inventory space used? (i.e. use the eldritch nightmare staff to cast barrage rather than the kodai) Or is the extra magic accuracy of the kodai valuable enough to warrant its usage.
I found that bringing a robetop is a complete waste of inventory space. Any attack >0 is enough for the nibblers, then just remove gear for healing... Try it yourself, it works.
Got the Infernal Cape on my 6th attempt, Thanks for this guide. This alongside xZact's guide + a lot of raw gameplay footage helped me feel like I have done the waves/zuk fight multiple times already. Attempt 5 I PBed wave 63, Attempt 6 I beat Zuk. You guys can do this.
So your PB was 63, then you beat jad/jads/zuk on your first try? That's pretty inspiring and gives me hope. My pb so far is 60, I posted the clip on my channel lol. I make a lot of stupid moves when things get intense and tend to freeze up a bit.
@@Hugs_4_Bugs_ Yeah my PB was 63 and I completed triples and zuk the next attempt. I spent a lot of time watching good capers like 25x and xzact. I probably watched like ~25-30 hours of gameplay. Good luck man I was scared to attempt it but it was a super satisfying grind.
@@Hugs_4_Bugs_ the waves are the hard part, mechanically the Jads and Zuk aren’t too difficult, just takes nerve! I PB’d at 64 then died to the single Jad a few attempts later just down to nerves lol ! Anytime you get past wave 63, you’ve got a decent chance of getting your cape so long as you can stay calm. Im starting to get to the wave 60s consistently now and feeling confident the next time i reach Jads. Just takes that 1 decent run!
I just locked myself into the inferno grind cause I'm about to max and didn't wanna do it w/cheese cape. 3 attempts in. So much salt and impatience. Waves 53-59 have wrecked me. I don't think people like me were meant to get this cape haha.
You don't need prayer flicking or any BIS gear to complete the inferno. The only gear that is mandatory is the twisted bow. But other than that, you can trivialize the inferno by simply waiting for your health to regen behind a pillar. For instance. My first inferno took me well over 4 hours to complete, because i didn't consume ANY brews until i was at least at wave 60+. If i got low during any of the previous waves, i simply just sit afk and wait for health to respawn. There is no time limit in the inferno. You can trivialize it by doing this.
And on wave 64 where u were tanking both range and melle how did u know u would be able to flick them both? Like the ranger came to u at the right time
This just confirms why its so annoying when people crashing you at bosses like bandos, rip on you for not having an infernal. Like bro how am i gonna get an infernal without the GP from bossing first. The stigma for not having an infernal cape is so toxic. Fair enough if youre maxed combat, done all quests and have all the GP you need then why the fuck would you not be attempting inferno, but people forget that it took a long time for one of the best players in the game to beat it and it shouldnt be treated as something youre expected to be able to do easily, if at all.
"Being able to alternate prayer every 1 tick" what about people that has 90 ping as their best? We got delayed clicks that make it impossible to flick 2 monsters
