one of the key things that makes gambling gambling is the prospect of making it big making money back and such these currencies are not used for that so they are not considered gambling but more like those gatchapods u can buy at a store
This is also not how a middleman service is supposed to work. The seller sends the item to the middleman AND the buyer sends their item to the middleman.
exactly what i was thinking. idk why kids these days trying to reinvent words... edit: seems like ppl just don't understand what a middleman is. ever heard the word "agent"? if you understand businesses, then you will know that, in this situation, they will be considered as an "agent" or employee for the provider/producer or employer. in law, they are also more liable than a middleman if their "contractor/employer" doing something shady. usually "middleman" will "modify" the product to better fit the customer's requirements, including local laws. so the relationship graph will always have nodes with 2 lines/arrows between the nodes. this whole thing is just another scammer with a bit of pyramid scheme going.
It doesn't matter. Even if both do, if the middleman is on the side of the "buyer", then the middleman / buyer still get the sellers item, and the seller gets nothing.
Here's some context from someone who has been "involved" in this type of stuff: The base of it really is how NTTS explained; hitters work for Middleman to bait kids into using their Middleman service (they say stuff like "it's safer for both of us to use this MM" - which generally works). Something most of you were probably curious about is how do they get so many members, well it's pretty simple - they bot the servers. Most 'broke' MMS (Middleman services/servers) have most of their channels closed so nobody can expose them, however the bigger ones usually have auto-chats and auto-vouches (you can see the users account which all were made around the same day). The owners tend to either buy servers with members or buy the members themselves. It's popular because kids can get lots of items in Roblox games and it's just like the 'pyramid scheme' shown in the video. From my personal experience (I stopped now so don't flame me, just trying to help out now), I used to set up auto messaging on about 30 accounts in big trading servers and didn't check back until I got lots of DMs. Once I got the hits they piled up fast (did it for 2 weeks and about $200-250 but it depends on things like how persuasive you and the middleman are, and how believable the server looks) - ultimately it's not a way to permanently make money but I've seen people get hits for thousands of dollars. 🚨 How can you stay safe? It's really simple; - There's a server called KSF (.gg/KSF) which has all the hitters and hitter (MM scam) servers - Don't trust any MM server that has 50K/100K members (usually botted) - A lot of AMP (Adopt Me) MM servers usually have an invite link like (.gg/am_ // amd/ams/amp/amt etc.) - The biggest red flag is when the channels are closed and/or a majority of the server has suspicious users (once again botted) - Another thing is that a lot of the times the people inviting you/hitters have an extra role to get access to the hitter channels (however in modern MMS they usually blend in with the normal role) But the biggest thing I would recommend is to just stay away from crosstrading [if you REALLY want to / I don't recommend it but / you should definitely do your research on the server, and ask for proofs from the person (a.k.a. "join me ingame and show me that you have the items" since they typically don't, or ask the MM to show you proof they got the item / however this is just a small check of legitimacy as they usually have fake proofs like in the video] (Thanks for reading this, took me a while to write - spread the awareness and stop these scams 🙏)
That's one reason I love KSF Scammer Files. It's a discord server with a database of reported scammers and scam servers that can be viewed by basically any member. You can lookup a user id or a server invite, and if the result includes prior reports, the proof is provided with the response. It's awesome, and scammers can't get around it by changing their (or the server) name, as it's linked to the user or server ID itself.
@@scattagain honestly it could be a good idea. the guy has a high dedication and ability to work out ideas to figure out how to bypass and understand how the app works / code / so on, if anything he could find a job that has on job training for this sort of position or college if that's necessary for those kinds of jobs. now obviously he wouldn't actually do any of this. but that's not saying he can't, cause he could. just requires the time and effort.
If he does join FBI or the CIA, he might get hired for "CyberSecurity" on ALL social media platforms or ones he uses a ton, which includes Discord. So he would be a MUCH better Trust & Safety member than every single one of them on Discord's actual staff list COMBINED.
NTTS, as an ex-member of the roblox dark market, i greatly appreciate this video. Ive seen tons of people get scammed this way. I would’ve thought these scammers would not be dumb enough to name their channels so obvious. I also love how you tie previous scams, like the join servers for you scam, into this scam. From the surface level, i would have never known about these in depth little methods. I only knew how MMs are often scammers. Speaking of scammers…. There used to be an older cross trading server where the owner and mm owned an entire company cross trading. They started off legit, then they started scamming the people who actually paid them and trusted them. Eventually their server and company fell off.
As someone who used to be very active in the Project SEKAI community for account trading and has helped out as a middleman for friends, middlemen CAN be legit in certain communities. The gacha game trading community (Genshin Impact, Honkai Star Rail, Wuthering Waves, Project SEKAI, Bandori, D4DJ, IdentityV, ect.) is very tight knit to the point there are whole servers dedicated to reporting scammers and fake middle men. Especially when it comes to trading whales, large value account can be worth up to 200+ USD. I knew of Roblox trading for a while but it's always been kind of a joke in the SEKAI community for being illegitimate, to the point where SEKAI players who wanted to trade stuff on Roblox would just ask the gacha community middle men to do it, and they usually would. I knew the Roblox trading community was bad but not this bad oml
@@TheoSur I traded SEKAI and did account fc farming for about a year, and I only ever got scammed once. And even then, some of my friends were able to track my account and get it back for me People posted callouts on scammers constantly, there were whole Instagram accounts for a while dedicated to calling out scammers with proof. The community has mostly shifted to discord but the KSF Scammer files is fantastic for account traders. Super cute emotes too. I don't really trade anymore but I still use the emotes when I set up and mod in Welcome Home servers lol
i suddenly feel like radically discriminating against a group of people in order to amass a political following and rule a nation in dictatorial fashion
I used to be a middle man for practically every game that discord & reddit had servers for, still friends with many folks i met through. sad to see scamming has become more prevalent especially in games aimed for kids
I actually had my account used for one of these scams once! I had a few people friend me because they thought I was a middleman, and when I joined the server to say, "Hey I own the account this guy is using," the imposter was immediately banned. I didn't know this was a widespread thing, I thought he was just an idiot.
The sad reason Discord will never fix the join servers for you issue is because they think it's a good feature when it's not. I can't even imagine any sort of legitimate purpose that you'd be using a bot like that for other than to scam. If you want in a server you join the server
Ngl you should make a video where you go over your past videos, specifically ones outting bad actors on Discord and see if Discord actually did anything about it after you published your videos
On the topic OF poisoned items, people can actually TRADE these poisoned items to innocent people, KNOWING it can get them banned. It's honestly crazy.
Actually a few months ago I clicked on a discord nitro gift, because I thought someone from one of the servers I’m in gifted me. After I clicked on the “accept” button I was pretty confused, but I let it go thinking it was processing. The next day I woke up to my account getting added to an 18+ server.Over the week this kept happening.I realized that I was getting hacked and thank fully, I figured out how to remove it😭
im... pretty sure my cousin was at the top of one of these servers or something. All I know is that he made around $70k from shady stuff on Roblox. I think the cover story was that he was somehow "selling robux"? idk anything about roblox but i dont think that's how that works. I also know he wasn't a game developer
@@MEGABLOCKER it was years ago before I even thought about him being a scammer. I really don't know much besides that he had burner phones and credit cards and im pretty sure he wasn't even lying about the $70k
NTTS i just started watching your vids and they are amazing because they teach me stuff that i could possibly be unaware of unlike the ratters.. those are obvious.
0:49, I do think it is wrong to encourage this type of 'gameplay' to kids. But the reason Roblox allows it is because by definition you must have a chance to lose in gambling, however with the lootbox thing you will always win even if it's something worse than what you wanted. This is technically a loophole but all you need to know is that because it is not a textbook example of gambling, Roblox allows it.
Hi! A staff of a trading server! Middlemans are commonly impersonated and we often need to ban them from servers (they cannot appeal for the ban either) Just reccomend to use mutual servers if using a middleman, and to check out their proofs of their own personal middleman service server (all middlemans have it), and we always have a ticket transcript. Becoming a middleman puts a lot of trust on the user, so impersonating/faking is more worth doing since it usually requires over 30+ trades and verification in multiple servers. I myself do not qualify to become one in the slightest, so I cannot answer the struggles of being a middleman
I met a lot of roblox admins when I was a little kid, right around the time they removed tickets (TIX) from the game. They were straight up politicians and their masks were so obvious that even as a little kid I felt disgusted meeting them. I was in shock when I met stickmasterluke and was like ohh he must be so cool. Nope. It's exactly what you'd expect from a company like that.
@@Septembermoodddd Idk how to describe it other than superficial. Fake smiles and behavior, all on the surface. They just said what they thought you would like to hear. I asked about the tix thing and they just brushed it off and gave me the political response of "I can't say exactly but there's a very good reason why it was done!" and when I criticized the decision they just gave me the cold shoulder like "ok yeah move on kid". I mean he didn't even wanna talk about the games he created with me, I used to play them everyday after school and loved it. I was only around 9-10 years old at the time but even then I could tell it felt like a non-genuine interaction, and it became more clear to me as I started doing more activities and helping kids as I got older (20 now).
@@Septembermoodddd Right but you'd think people who create games would be fun and interesting and wouldn't be fake asf. At least that's what my naive way of thinking used to be like. I make an effort to never be superficial or fake with people...especially because of experiences like the one I had with the roblox admins irl.
15:56 the fact this bot is turkish and has a join command made SPECIFICALLY to make the turkish accounts join servers just makes me ashamed of being in this country.
Its funny i just saw the LcLc Hangout pass by, and im saying just like that for no reason, i found it funny because im one of the mods in it (and we have people banned for trying to cross trade on a regular basis, like once a week)
Another reason companies explicitly prohibit RMT is due to the potential of money laundering. Diablo III and Runescape have had massive issues with criminals turning ill-gotten funds into clean money. Goes like this: - criminal finds no-lives in game, usually high-level players that play for hours a day - offers to send them cash via mail. - in exchange, the player grinds a decided upon number of items and trades them with various alts controlled by the criminal. - criminal sells the items on marketplaces, making it appear as the funds were gotten by some no life clan or kid. scaling this up can be a bit tricky and can cause a significant loss of profits but for a criminal it's just the cost of doing business. any game that has any form of legal real-world marketplace for items is subject to this. these games have taken active steps to prevent it by outright banning second party trading or using AI to try and detect laundering.
speaking of roblox the service known as guilded recently forced us to make roblox accounts to continue using the service so now everyone is mad and is bailing on the forced change
So glad you're making this !! I remember commenting about this before !! I cross trade, and I've gotten scammed LOTS of times. A way to avoid getting scammed is a server called KSF.
I still remember going into these servers about 4 years ago and scamming kids for their adopt me pets. Honestly, I don't think it's a big deal, it gives them a lesson and I can understand if discord has other stuff to do than taking care of these little problems. Roblox also mentions to never cross-trade anything and if you decide to go against that, then you're at fault and anything that happens to you is your fault.
Is there like a legitimate good reason why the “join servers for you” actually exists? So far it’s always been something negative or pretty much “made for scammers”, but why did discord make it/ allow it to exist in the first place? And why haven’t they removed the feature cuz as we can see there are tons of scam servers.
It exists for the same reason why every other permission exists... If you can do something on your account then you should be able to delegate it to a bot
a lot of games which has 1 item trading systems have official middle men however these types of servers are built off the hiring team's trust so if a rogue mm decides to scam all they can do is ban them off the server because cross trading is illegal on roblox
With the Roblox rule, they genuinely don’t care. A famous dev Preston on Roblox was trying to make kids buy NFTs for pets, (which in reality didn’t work out too well) but they never ended up stepping in and did anything about it.
I love it when bro said "i get 50 bucks per day doing this!!". Like bro, a single shift working as a waiter and you get twice that, probably with less work too lmao. Why the hell would anyone scam kids for 50 bucks a day lmaooo
I mean if you're genuinely a 12 year old, that's quite alot that's like a 350$ weekly and 1500$ monthly, if u actually took that money to invest on something at a constant pace that could set you up for some very good income in the future, only problem is that none of those kids are mature enough to do anything with their money other than burn it all up
ive been playing adopt me for about 1 and a half years whenever im bored, and just knowing other people who play it, i have never once actually heard of anyone who used a middleman and didnt get scammed, im pretty sure every single one is a scam
Hey! I’ve been a part of these scamming servers, never participated in trading based on trust/another game, and I thankfully haven’t been scammed. I think it solely depends, there are legit people and there are bots.
The funny thing is that people call me a scammer when I literally give free items in games where you can make things as jobs- I'm sitting here like "bro you already have it in your hands how's it a scam?"
middlemen exist in other roblox games, but both parties send their item to the middleman. and they're also usually appointed by the official devs/game's discord mods.
one of the worst parts is roblox makes money off of this as u need roblox premium to trade avatar items and they probably use most of the money they make to get robux to gamble it all away lol
13:21 Fun little fact about Roblox: they don’t do anything about other websites that let you buy and sell items. They only care if you use the website, but even then, their moderation sucks
Honestly I don't can can't blame any of these scammers. I mean making about as much as a minimum wage job from scamming kids on adopt me is a shitty thing to do but at the same time I respect the grind
