Mana burn stacking Tri elemental cyclone slayer. Its pretty fun and comfy so far. Relic of the pact life stacking with kaoms heart carried my league start hard Trying to come up with a fun third build
MoM Archmage, using Svallin with one curse, frost shield and sigil of power. Using cannot be poisoned on ring, immune to corrupted blood and reduce bleeding on boots. 2 days without die running t16 8 mod, almost lvl100. After that I change to something to increase DPS.
The formula for effective block is super easy. You can calculate the damage you take with a single multiplication: Let's assume you have a 65% block chance with this shield. That means you're not blocking 35% of attacks, so to calculate your Effective Block Chance (EBC), you do 35 * 0.35 = 12.25. This means you only take damage from 12.25% of attacks. To find the EBC, subtract that from 100.
@@skyler1469 yes, and the comment is describing how you calculate it without PoB telling you. Block is lucky, rolls it twice and takes the best result (in this case, if the first roll says you don't block and the second roll says you do, then you block). So you calculate it by calculating the chance to FAIL to block, square it and subtract it from 100 to get the effective block chance. So a 45% chance to block when lucky results in effective block of 69% A 50% block chance when lucky results in effective block of 75%
the way i would think: 65% lucky block: rolls twice, so roll 1 and roll 2 could be block and no block case 1: roll 1= block/roll 2= no block 65%*35%=22,75% case 2: roll 1= no block/ roll 2= block 35%*65%=22,75% case 3: roll1 = block/ roll 2= block 65%*65%=42,25% sum all= 87,75% the rest is no block and no block, 35%*35%=12,25%
I yoinked your pob yesterday and just copied this build pretty much, holy cow it's so much tankier. Haven't died yet on this build after 500+ deaths as bow character. Thanks for saving my league
You are aware of Rearguard + Widowhail + More than Skill + Mystic Bulwark (e.g. via Anoint) + Block Mastery (1% Spellblock per 5% Attackblock) is even tankier than Svalinn? 75/73% Base block (Rearguard needs at least 22 attack and perfect spellblock rolls), which turn into 94/93% Blockchance after a single block recently.
Completely new to this game, went against all your advice and started with this build. Thanks for this update man, gonna continue to roll with this til I can clear T17's and all that.
I had a perfect roll of this shield a while ago and sold it for a div, I probably shouldve waited for someone to figure out if it was actually useful or not
If you are using axes ward is very good with it also. You can get chance to restore ward on hit, combined with block you almost always have your ward up.
this is the best shield for RF currently and sitting at 90 block with a big talent switch away from pohx build. Ive been using detonate dead of scavending with unbound ailments link and molten shell. The explosion is really great for clear and boss damage if there are corpses nearby
Nah. I tested it on rf and you need much more investment than shaper shield with life on block. I am sittin on 80% block chance and ubers are much more comfortable.
I'm actually not even using the trigger mechanic. I have Purity of Elements, Flesh and Stone and Haste socketed in my shield. I'm also using the other unique, Ynda's Stand and stacking up Ward with a really nice Armour/Evasion chest. I've got 5500 life, 600 ES, 2900 Ward with no flask and 3900 Ward when my Iron flask is up (triggers on taking a Savage Hit). Then I've got 82/80/80/76 for resistances. I'm immune to all ailments. I've got a tiny bit of spell suppression. I've got both life regen and some life recovery and my minions leech life to me. Finally, I've got a bunch of minions that are always taunting. So, yeah, lots of layers. I do have to be careful around DOTs as well, but not nearly as much as you did as in the video. That particular boss, I can ignore basically all of their damage. I still keep moving around, out of habit, but I don't think I need to.
This league block became my favorite defensive layer, its easy to get and pretty confy. Started with gladiator and swithed to frostblades, and just a shield with 45% block is enough to save me from a insane amount of deaths. Arround 35mil dps, 45% block and Cold dmg skill is more than enough to do T17. Made my first mirror this league with just this setup :)
Regarding Socketed Spells, what I noticed what also is useful when socketed: - Wave of Conviction/Frostbomb: 15% Exposure for Fire (Avatar of Fire WoC), Lightning (Default/Lightning Boosted WoC) or Ice ( Frostbomb) - Frostbomb: Disable enemy regen. - Conductivity/Flammability/Frostbite: Automatic AoE curse on being hit.
Went LS Warden on SSF because of your video at leaguestart, did 39/40 challenges with it (missing a power rune, lol) and it's been great, didn't swap to Svalinn until today but it seems insane - thanks for the informative content!
They're definitely reducing it to -20% maximum chance to block spell/attacks next league. Even then it will be quite strong, but you'll need to invest way more in terms of passive tree, gear, and cluster jewels. Play it while you can now!
@@PauloVictor-tz9bg -10 is 65/65, which is an effective 87.75/87.75 Block -15 is 60/60, which is an effective 84.00/84.00 Block -20 is 55/55, which is an effective 79.75/79.75 Block
I've been following the theory crafting version and its the best i've felt in POE. i always do bow builds that die in one big hit, but now i actually feel like i can progress through the endgame and make enough currency to support continuously upgrading the build as you continue to update it. thanks man, looking forward to the more complete update
Swapped to running this shield a few days ago on my LS slayer, holy cow I can't believe how strong it is for how cheap it was at the time (bought my mid role one for around 30c). While I did feel relatively tanky before using this, after getting it I feel damn near immortal, and I'm not even capped on block atm. Nutty item for sure
The monent i see "thing is lucky" i realize its fucking broken because when you have literally any chance based item the most busted legendary is a 57 leaf clover, wich is exactly what the lucky modifier does here
I used this in my pure Spectre build (Frostbearer) and I survived hits that I normally wouldn't be able to. Plus, having that triggering elemental skill upon block is really useful. I put Frostbite + Molten Shell with both on Lifetap support and it works wonder on survivability. I just need a bit more and I can beat Ubers (tried Uber Uber Elder once, messed up the timing of Shaper slam).
I am playing Pohx RF build without Glancing blows, but instead with doppelgänger guise (10% life regen) and 90% max res and according to poe basically 88%/90% block It is so crazy. Also, check detonate dead of chain reaction for the sockets. Also check The Hateful Accuser for permanent block uptime from bosses with enemy phantasms (also good for detonated dead) Also there is block/shield mastery? with 20 life and mana on block.
@@Lolcohol I love expedition now so much big bombs goes up and everything is in less then 5 second dead. When I am back home I can share my POB. And I am going for a little ES because I use divine shield and safeguard. Sometimes my ES is full up with RF active. And before I forget: I did with this already simulacrum all waves and only died once because I thought I could take in phase 14 all hits of the bosses. Dont know if it is really so good or if simulacrum was nerfed.
Swithed to your warden ls from poevault, started as necro zoo, holy S how comfortable it is compare to minions. Spend something around 30 div on it so far. Tbh stars aligned for it, cause i dropped fractured t1 max roll flat fire ilvl85 imperial claw, crafted it with essences and multicraft so far, later will drop more div into it to craft it properly ( veiled stuff). All and all, amazing build, thnx. If someone curious about budget: Top ilvl 85 base armor/evasion chest with t1 fractured cold res, crafted it to 200+life(flat+hybrid), t1 chaos res t1 additional phys reduction- around 8-10 div. T2 base armor/evasion gloves with fractured spell supress, crafted to playable state(not t1 life) - around 3-4 div Bought somewhat nice helmet(life, res) - 1-2 div T1 arm/evasion base boots fractured speed, crafted t1 life, t1 chaos res, spell supress and somethinh else, dont remember- around 2-4 div Insane ilvl 85 fractured flat fire t1 max roll imperial claw, idk how much it costs, probably 10-15 div , dropped from ritual. Essence craft - 4 div, cannot be changed+multi- 5 div. Amulet- 2 div Ring- 2 div Unique ring- 50 c Shield(dawnbreaker) +2 aura gems - 50c Stygian wise - somewhat 50-100 c Stormshroud- given by friend for 1 div) X2 double damage, end charge on kill, %intimidate +str small nodes timeless- 1 div Add catalysts, eldritch orbs, etc
I just got this shield yesterday! A pretty good roll too. It's not selling that well, so I kept it. I've been looking for a new, good shield so I might use it.
Hey Lolco. thanks for this tip but sitting in your pob im very curious from where you get your spellblock? im playing LS slayer and wanted to try this tech but i cant get more then 90 block and 45% spellblock atm. is it that you just keep overcapping your block to get spellblock. i havent done the cluster yet.
ive been playing gladiator which is even better. Has lucky block as his 4-pointer and can use Shaper influ shield with 5% HP on every block. And has unwavering stance very close to its start location. I mean, Gladiator is a class tailored to be OP with shield. This unique shield works on any character and isn't falling too far behind though. It will get nerfed in 3.26.
Just seeking clarification, the PoB in the description is the new setup we should aim for? I just started buying gear based on the PoB in the previous video with the large thread of hope.
I feel they may even nerf the gladiator ascendancy nodes. It is so good. Granted, you can still die, but I have never completed the final waves of simulacrum so smoothely. Block at that level is amazing.
Watchers eye with health from hits while effected with vitality. I personally have a lvl 1 vit i use. And have infinite health regain. Also shaper ring bases has the same ability mine gives 60 chaos resist and 15 hp per spell hit.
@@EffKayDownSouth Yeah I tried the gain +20 +20 from block mastery in the marauder area but it wasn't enough (including life on hit) to compensate for the loss of ES gain. Down around 400 depth I was dipping a lot more. I think it'd be viable with a prog for sure. Did you annoint the other life on hit node below duelist? Thanks for replying
@@snactimusmaximus Hi. No I didn't get around to anointing anything yet. Not enough oils yet. I am thinking of anoiting the Gain 30 Life on Block passive but is there another node that will give decent life on hit?
have been using your League starter LS warden till now, hella fun to play glass cannon kinda build, now it can be tanky. Nice video! just wondering can we mix match the build so it can viable to farm bosses.
Hah the previous version wasn't a glass cannon either but it wasn't a tank. I've been doing Ubers on this version of the build so it is capable of bossing :)
I'm currently using dawn breaker, and I'm thinking about switching to this shield. I use a bunch of mitigation with suppression, fortify, endurance charges, some armor, and arctic armor. I can't really scale evasion, but maybe I should drop it and just look into attack block. That's going to be hard for me to fit into my build anyway.
one quick question: do we take arctic armor or not? BTW thank you so much Lolcohol for making such a great build. I’ve been following this build since day 1. This is my first league and your build makes it such a great experience!
And to think I started using it on day 1 lmao. I literally have not died yet and I didn't realize my lightning res wasn't capped until Red maps. I have been using it with Ward and honestly it's f***ing busted man. The new Ward belt with a well crafted Evasion/Armour, body armour has me at ~4.1k Ward. With 2 sources of ward regain, I'm at 0.9 sec to have ward again, which is usually up by the time I get hit. I do not have a defensive buff yet I have not died even on uber bosses since when they finally get past my 91% effective block they hit that massive ward. I play this on a Pure Spectre build so they block any hits anyways so the ward is super effective.
Hey thanks for the build, just switched for a 1k death ele hit spectrum and having a nice time not dying now. Quick question, where do we gain elusive from? I can't seem to find it.. thanks
Hi @lolcohol, i'm currently using your updated build but can't get it how you stacked 5 auras like Determination, Haste, Anger, Tempest shield and arctic armour at once without increased reservation efficiency of skills ? Or you're switching between some auras? Thank you
Hey! I'm switching between them :) for bosses I use anger, Haste, tempest Sheild and when I get enlighten, also Herald of ice. For mapping, I use a similar setup unless I'm pushing for xp in which case I go Determination, grace, tempest shield and arctic armour
So which build is stronger? this one or the the last one you posted? Also I already have 84% evasion, 90% PDR, and 86/77 shield block. Should I just drop evasion and get Iron reflex passive node?
Since you have spoken about the defensive "issues" your approach has had so far, I am wondering whether you have seriously considered in PoB running a Slayer instead of the Warden. Slayer overleech will almost fix your "passive" recovery issue, since it lasts much longer than regular leech. In addition, Slayer is in a more convenient spot in the tree for the passives you have chosen on the bottom side of the tree. Although Slayer does bring in less dmg than warden its not subpar by any stretch of the imagination with frenzy charges + more attack dmg/AS from ascendency passives. Let me know your thoughts
Yeah Slayer might actually be the solution with the overleech. I got a Tides of Time belt from Uber Shaper yesterday which could also help solve it on Warden but there's probably a reason a lot of HC folks prefer Slayer over Warden
See I’m in the boat. I’ve been thinking on it and I’m probably going to swap the shield and take damage nodes away for the block nodes and maybe take the evasion conversion but I’m not sure. I’ll let you know how it feels compared to dawnbreaker tomorrow.
Noob question: why is Trinity preferable to Increased Critical Damage Support? Lightning Strike DPS appears to be lower when Trinity is equipped vs. Increased Critical... Thanks for helping me better understand this game. :)
I was really hoping with the Glad rework they were going to surprise drop a cast on block support gem but this shield is pretty cool. Was looking at putting together a Slayer build with it.
Hi, great video again, thank you so much. Noob question but i hope someone can help me. If i look at you PoB i can see 35,850 armour already without items (because they somehow not exported), but if i go to my PoB instead, i got only 1550 armour. Overall i have around 40k but you got a 85k+, just how? Where do you get that piece of armour? Hope someone will tell me and thank you again for the great content!
Become literally immortal or dual wield for some mediocre attack speed. What a choice... Personally, I think this should remain a Gladiator trick and not something everybody can do. Or they add block is lucky mastery somewhere in the passive tree so the shield itself is just one of many ways to do it.
Yeah it feels way too good for how common that shield is. I'm guessing next league it'll be something like "-20 to -30% to maximum block chance" which would make it more balanced. Lucky Block is so insanely strong that I'm almost certainly going to league start Gladiator next league
Recently spent 5 divs to get the very large thread of hope from last video, and now its gone xD. This is looking pretty neat tho, any specific reason for switching from claw to dagger? I was considering trying to fracture an imperial claw.
It doesn't have to be gone! I'm only using the large cluster because I couldn't find one from stupid Sirus who wouldn't drop it, so I had to make a backup plan. I will test the thread as soon as he drops it, but I do feel like the cluster is super nice for filling in attributes and stuff
@@Lolcohol It does fit very nicely, il keep an eye out if you post another update video. Managed to snag a fractured t1 lighting damage sai before more people figure this out lol.
Btw I meant that the Cluster is nice for attributes, not the thread! But the thread is still good! And good job on the Sai! I haven't found a good one yet
With higher gem levels, we need to spend more mana to build up stages, and at higher gem levels, we can't spend enough mana to get to max stages so we don't benefit from the Less Damage Taken at 4 stages. The damage we get from 4 stages at level 6 is actually higher than a level 20 with only 1 stage (which is realistically all we get with it at level 20) so it's best to keep it low level
I did a similar thing with cluster jewels. But without the anvil how do you plan on capping block and not using rumis? Or would you just switch to rumis and not have infinite block at all times?
You can check my PoB! We can get close to block-capped without Rumi's but you start hitting diminishing returns where Rumi's is only giving an extra 2-3% increased block chance, and instead opting to improve your mitigation layers makes more sense than that little bit extra from Rumi's. There's probably more ways to get even more block chance with more clusters like you said, but at some point it eventually ends up feeling like those points could be better spent elsewhere
