You see, a lot of this was actually intended. If you ask telvanni for advice or secrets they will tell you about command humanoid and charm. I believe one of the books mentioned the telekinesis disarming traps bit, or otherwise another secret or advice.
There are many advices. For example, warriors advise you to carry sujamma at all times in case you need to ultrakill somebody and enchanters advise you to fortify skill your weapons if you suck at them.
@burningsinner1132 only fortify skill merchant i know about is in one of the dlcs one that sends dark brotherhood ppl at you and u talk to a guard then u make it to that place u camt use levitate idk im high
Honestly, finding things like this is what makes being a mage in Morrowind rewarding. This is what researching magic should feel like, finding new and interesting uses for existing spells and creating new spells optimized for the function you discovered.
Dude exactly. Literally the most fun part of morrowind for me. Finding exploits that make the game more fun but balancing it to not make it game breaking.
I like the idea of going full warrior with only enchant for a magic skill. But focus on using spells firstly buuuut restrict my casting to only be from items.
Here's a neat exploit. You can have multiple of the same type of summon, so long each cast/effect has a different duration. (One skeleton with 30 seconds, another with 31 seconds...)
I think with my first character 15-17 years ago I beat vivec just by using all my summon items. I had something like 10 skeletons tanking for Dremora Lord, Atronachs and such, constantly replacing fallen ones, it was glorious.
A stronger exploit and this can be used for any summons, create a summon spell for 1 sec. Add a secondary effect of target soul trap for 1 sec. When you cast the spell, aim directly below you. It will perma summon whatever you chose, and the body won’t unsummon after killing them. You can farm high level equipment for enchants or to sell from either dremoras or golden saints. I farmed a bunch of saints for the Daedric tower shield.
Bro I just found your channel yesterday and I have to say that I enjoy your content more than every channel I’ve discovered this year. Your format, delivery, and general demeanor remind me of simpler times when my greatest concern was going to my friend’s house to borrow his copy of a small purple cheat code book for the day. All that to say, I’m immediately a long term viewer from here on out. Keep it up!
I knew I could command and pull the Cammonna Tong members in the Balmora Council club one at a time but now I have an absolutely dastardly way to complete the 'little story' mission :D
I'm sure it's been said, but one easy way to transport the mudcrab merchant is to move a fast travel NPC to him via command humanoid, casting command creature on the mudcrab merchant, then talking to the NPC and having them transport all three of you wherever you want to go. It's a much more magically economic option than buffing the mudcrab's speed for such a long duration. To go even further on being economic, you don't even need to cast command consistently to get an npc to follow you. So long as you're not heading through load zones, you can aggro an NPC via Frenzy and they'll hone in on you pretty much indefinitely, the Frenzy spell doesn't even need to last for longer than a second or two. This has the added benefit that the NPC doesn't generally try to defend you either, so you don't have to contend with your escort stopping every 20 feet to challenge a cliff racer to honorable combat. And when you want the NPC to stop trying to tickle your ribcage with their iron dagger, you can cast command to break aggro or drag them through a load zone. Magic has so many utilities in Morrowind, but not everyone is a mage. Thankfully a well crafted spell can break the game for the low cost of ~20 magicka pretty much right out of the gate.
you forgot about my personal favourite: restore magicka spells! using a drain attribute spell you can drain all of your intelligence and as long as casting it doesn't use all your magicka (it shouldn't, it only costs 10 to make a spell that drains 100 intelligence for 1 second) all of your magicka will come back once the spell ends
Hi! 😀 Dude, I share the same passion for Morrowind as you do, in general I'm huge fan of TES series but Morrowind has very special place in my crazy heart since the release. I enjoy your videos and your humor, always made me laugh. Huge fan, greetings from Poland! 💪
I was so mad when they fixed the training glitch. I found that one myself pretty early when the game came out, then I found out that it was pretty well-known years later. I decided to play again a couple of years ago and made all the Drain Skill spells only to find out they didn't work anymore... so instead I just make Fortify Skills for all the skills and cast them on trainers, this way I don't have to scour the waste looking for Master Trainers.
It still works. Did you play with OpenMW or any bug fixes? I know that OpenMW automatically fixes that bug but you can actually turn it back on in the options menu in OpenMW's Launcher.
It kinda seems like interest in morrowind spiked about a year ago, and has since fallen back off. I, of course, have no waver to my loyalty. Morrowind forever
I used "command humanoid" on 2 of the dancers at the House of Earthly Delights. I moved them to my mansion I commandeered in Caldera. The mansion is stocked with limeware and brandy and the best of clothing in all the dressers. It's one of my homebases. The other two are on the frozen island as the Factors Home and Castle Karstag. : )
My "completely nuts magic" moment in Morrowind happened in 2003-2004. My best pal in school droppes by my place claiming he discovered smth amazing. He proceeded to make a strange spell - just 10 dmg for 1 sec but... he set the area to 100. Then he levitated my character above Balmora and shot the fireball onto the town square. My jaw subsequently dropped as I watched the nuclear explosion unfold whilst hearing curses from numerous denizens below... good times, good times! :)
You forgot the soul trap + effect spell for permanent effects. Get soul trap + summon skeleton and you can get a skeleton army! I've used those to grind my combat skills for free.
@@remixgod4496 It depends on how you use it. For example summon spells done that way make permanent, multiple summons making you able to field skeleton armies. And skeleton armies are awesome.
I did that with my skills. I kept speed at 250 but everything else is at 100,000...same with skills such as martial arts. I can knock down any character one hit. One more hit, its an instant kill. I use throwing stars for instant kills. This was done AFTER winning it all naturally.
this is a really great channel, focusing almost entirely on the function of the game and leaving the lore of interpersonal and interfactional conflicts up to the player to learn more about in game
Try levitate 1 point for 15 seconds on target, it's like shooting fish in a barrel or use levitate on ones self and fly strait up they will follow and then fall to their death..he he he.
I cast a spell of levitation on the Mages Guild Master during the Arena Battle. We were circling blasting spells at each other and the audience 😂. All the way to the Cieling and finally dropped like said
I just tried the game breaking trick, and I found out something funny. If you're playing a Breton the 50% Magicka resist makes the Drain Skill effect half as effective, so you can only train with 1 gold per level up to level 50
Imagine back then so rewarding was breaking the game as a mage with spells, enchant and alchemy. You really feel overpowered and knowing something not everybody knows. "Oh you played as a warrior, so naive" "Oh you play as rogue, so charming". "Me? I played as a demigod, as expected of the incarnation of Nerevarine"
this is fantastic. I have obviously been playing this game witn innovation blinkers securely fastened to my brain. Thanks for the great video and ideas!😎🖖🏼
I remember in original morrowind you could also train maxed out skills so long as your stat was boosted above 100. Pretty sure this is also fixed in openmw
I used command creature to bring unique guars to party with Caius. There's one near Pelagiad, which doesn't attack you and doesn't despawn. Then there's that one merchant near Vivec which has that pack Guar (Rollo maybe??). Grande finale would be White Guar. There might have been one more I don't remember now.
As an alternative to moving an npc outside their shop, Telekinesis from behind a pillar while sneaking would be a lot cheaper mana wise. Or making a potion using Scuttle and Bone Meal.
I like this game. Best tes, no contest. Also admire creativity in it. Like eg disintegrate weapon or armour. You can make shiny knight stick to the floor and melt his equipment and generally toy with many aspects in game.
If you make any spell and add soul trap on target for 3 seconds, look down and cast it, the spell lasts forever. For example i cast summon golden Saint for 3 seconds and soul trap on target for 3 seconds, look straight down and cast it.... golden Saint is with me until it dies. I now have summon small army spell where I summon the top 7 most powerful creatures and they follow me everywhere
I savedTarheil, madehim follow me back to Ghorak manor, then went and made the mudcrab merchant follow me back. So Ghorak manor has Creeper, Mudcrab Merchant and Tarheil hanging around lol
Morrowind really is made by its wacky magic. Doing a 0-magic playthrough the game is quite bland. But the freedom offered by taking just one or two schools of magic is what makes this game, well, magical.
Charm Humanoid makes merchants buy high and sell low when you do business with them. If you don't want to kidnap Creeper or the Mudcrab, it's a very good investment early in the game.
I use the Morrowind code patch because I don’t feel like CTDing every 30 minutes. I think that might limit my options, but there’s still stacking potion effects, just killed Gaenor the other day by slamming 80+ bottles of sujamma within 15 seconds and hitting him twice.
Here I am, learning about these exploits and thinking prior to this that alchemy is already insanely easy to exploit. This is incredible yet ridiculous.
The soul trap exploit! Maybe you don't know about it... It might only work in vanilla... I used to use it on my original Xbox. soul trap on target mixed with any stat increase for 1 second. Look down at your feet when you cast it. It works with conjuration too.
These were all SOLID GOLD tips when i first played in 2003 ... the Telekinesis doors is champ moves. I really hoped that making a constant effect TK item was going to give me extra on touch spell reach .. but it doesn't do that. That would have been METAL
Well, it's not like Morrowind was designed to be played without breaking it. A wise man once said "Forget any notion of fair play or balance. If you can exploit something, you should. Because the alternative is being tapped by a bandit carrying an enchanted twig that paralyzes you for ten seconds straight per strike. The game mechanics are bullshit. Either you adapt to it and bask in its ridiculous glory and enjoy yourself, or you refuse to learn, die horribly, and complain." Which honestly reminds me of people who use mods to change the game in ways you can change yourself by raising your stats and skills like a normal person.
Can you do a couple morrowind playthroughs in ways you find funny or really enjoy. One of my favorites was a one punch build maxed strength and fortified hand to hand and one punched everyone😅
Doesn't invisibility work in the same way for sleeping purposes? I bet that would be bit easier in a pinch to get from a potion if you don't have 100% chameleon.
There's kind of a way around the open mw patch to the drain skill trainer trick...kind of. You use fortify skill class spells for 100pts for 1 or 2 secs on touch and then any trainer will train you to 100 in any skill you want.
Command and Frenzy not being crimes seems wrong... I can't imagine that kind of magic being legal in a civilized society. Charm, too. You can't blow a dart of xanax at someone irl to get what you want without repercussions. Or barge into their home and sleep in their bed. After 20 years I finally see how that being deathly criminal is actually pretty reasonable.
In the lore of the elder scrolls, magic is relatively rare. Wizards and sorcerers are mysterious and their ways are unknown. For day to day people they might know a spell for lighting a campfire or something, but not much more. Illusion magic is a lot like jedi mind tricks and impossible to prove if done right. There is also two factions with invested interest in keeping things like they are. The telvanni only respect magic power and will oppose anyone trying to curtail it. The mages guild want a monopoly on magic users, and limiting the spells of their members is also not in their interest.
Back in the day, I had this very strange thing happen in Morrowind. Namely, I used the Scroll of Icarian Flight in Vivec, right bellow the Ministry of Truth, and jumped. The floating rock stopped my progression but I sort of slowed down in mid air, like a feather effect, and my Athletics was increased to 1041 (by 1000 points). Any idea as to what had happened?
@@CoffeeNutGaming Slam them with a copy of "On Abolitionism" and they'd crap themselves. Might be a book from Tamriel Rebuilt, tho. In it Telvanni mage explains why it's good for the farmtool races that they are enslaved. The cats would just do crimes and drugs, wasting their lives away and the lizard scum would just be lazy and die to hunger due to their incompetence in finding food. I laughed my ass off when I found that gem of a book.
I'm not able to get the mudcrab merchant to follow me when I stilt strider from Vivec back to Balmora even when it's commanded. :( I was able to get it to follow me from its original location all the way back to Vivec's stilt strider though. Guess I'll just have to slow walk it back to Balmora.
I think if you're playing the game with the intent that it not be Brokenly-Easy, and you have 100% Chameleon spell or enchants, then you're high enough level & should have enough gear and gold to not have to worry about needing to squat in an owned bed somewhere just to level up on-the-fly... so yeah, "silly & pointless stuff" was relatively accurate on that one, still cool to know tho, lol.
Criminal tresspassing, criminal mischief, possible breaking and entering, admungst many other possible violations depending on what else you did in someone elses house. I dont find your arrest harsh at all for sleeping in someone elses bed sir. Harsh would be my reaction to coming home from work and finding some n'wah vagabond sleeping in my bed. Id have to commit 2 crimes. The first crime would be burning my georgia bulldogs sheet and the much lesser crime of foul murder.
I found that after maybe 10x doing the drain to train glitch, they just started charging more each time, went from 1gp up to 200gp in no time, have i stuffed this glitch up?
If it is possible to do within the system, does it still count as breaking the game? I would think breaking the game would be modifying important code that causes the game to crash.
Command would work fine in the next game because the ai would go back to its schedule. I would love it tho if you could pay resources to make a spell permanent
i have tried EVERYTHING even with cheats its not possible to lure the creeper merchant. How the fuck am i supposed to do this, i even looked his id up, he is lvl 5, so i make a spell for lvl 5 to command 10 seconds and nothing happens
Do you know if the spell soultrap on target added to fortify any attribute for 0 seconds still works as a permanent buff. I used that back in the day to have a hand to hand fighter knock characters through the air... good times.
Might be that your Command Creature isn't high enough level or the length is lacking. I bet that Command Humanoid doesn't work on that guy, so might be that.
Very easy. Create and cast "Command Humanoid 100% on Target for 30 secs" Once you have sold your artifacts and finished the True Flame quest, return to the Museum of Artifacts, and Taunt one of the High Ordinators. When taunt succeeds, cast the Command Hummanoid spell on the other ordinators and on Torsa Aram. Watch them killing each other until the last one, who eventually may attack you and kill him. Museum should be completely empty and you can get (steal) all artifacts back without a bounty on yourself.
