I purchased my 2010 FX50S brand new and still drive it almost daily. The first thing I did when I got it was delete the resonators. This was done by a local muffler shop by replacing the resonators with straight pipes. This resulted in a true V8 sound…think AMG 6.3 exhaust sound. Total cost was under a $100.00!
@@benitogeorge6108 mine has been very reliable over the past 12 years and 113,000 miles. I had been contemplating selling it and getting a Model 3 Tesla, but I decided to keep it. Just had 4 Michelin Pilot Sport tires installed yesterday, so she is a keeper. Still love the V8 sound. My other car is a 2009 Carrera S ….Flat 6 and big V8, best of both worlds!
@@1995TypeR since it was under warranty at the time, I could not delete the cats. Muffler is still stock, so I believe the resonator delete is all you need.
I did the muffler delete and held off doing the resonator delete. What are the advantages of doing a resonator delete and keeping the mufflers on? Your thoughts are appreciated!
Fx50’s only come in awd but you get 390hp and man those post 2008 fx35/37 rwd models drive like a real sports car and just about as fast as the fx50. Still can’t decide between what I want. My rwd ex35 mom car is badass and can do donuts.
I disagree. The VQ35 and VQ37 series come nowhere near the VK50, the sheer grunt of the V8 outclasses the smaller V6s easily, they're nowhere near as fast lol - and I've had them all, in Z, G, Maxima, Murano, FX and QX.
@@goreallyspeed4819 people don't realize when they talk about VK50 that its from their racing division. I believe most of the FX50's owner don't know the engine is very unique, its only used in FX50. and this engine is a bit detuned from 420hp to 390hp for FX50
I think stock exhaust fx50 wins over fx37 hands down but with after market exhaust the fx37 has the unique sound of vq engine and the v6 can rev to the moon
@@G0ddEityawesome I agree, VQs sound like booboo if done wrong but done right, they have a very unique almost supercar-like sound that you can't get out of any other v6 motor
5.0 400hp awd, quite luxury package of stuff inside and all of that for like 20k? Still can’t understand why is this car that cheap, everyone says it’s reliable, it’s quite good in handling and also it’s fast enough for that money and type of car. Why is it so cheap?
@@zadguzel4854 They're two completely different notes. I have a 370z which has the same motor as the FX37, sounds great, but not V8 great. Looking to add a Fx50s for a winter car, would be quite the combo.
