Here is a detailed video on how to replace the lower controls arms on a Infiniti G37/ Nissan 370Z.
On these cars the lower ball joint is one unit with the control arm so this will be the main reason you may need to replace it.
This is a lengthy process but can be completed at home in your garage with a variety of common tools.
Hope you find it helpful
Torque specs ( Foot Pound)
Sway bar end link ( from sway bar end) 62
Sway bar end link ( from bottom of strut ) 120
The two nuts and bolts on the semi circle bushing towards the back of the car 53
Lower Ball joint nut 100
Third connecting point toward the front of car. 89

@@peterkoud3035 I found the torque specs on a g37 forum I’m now 100% sure they were correct but it had said 100 lb ft for the ball join nut, Here is the link if you want to check it out www.myg37.com/forums/d-i-y-installations-modifications/275254-front-lower-control-arms.html

Thank you for the walk through, planning on replacing my control arm bushings with monoball bushing kit from SPL. Right now it's just too mushy.

Gonna be referencing this when i go to do mine, only difference is I own an X which complicates it with the driveshaft and strut wishbone. Should be a blast!

Same here, my inner tie rod went bad on the drivers side now I hear a creeking noise when turning left to right and over bumps. So I’ll be doing inner and outer tie rods and now the ball joints. Fun.

*Thanks for this. It is best one I've found so far for 2008 and later. My car makes squeaking/clunking noises when going over bumps. I've replaced the upper arms, struts, and sway bar ends but not the lower control arms due to it being more labor intensive. What caused you to replace yours? And, is there a way to test if it is the bushings or the ball joint before making such an endeaver? Thanks in advance.*

Months later, and I'm hoping you were able to figure it out. And to those wondering. Grab a crowbar to pull under the ball joint, there shouldn't be any movement, but if there is any, you should replace it.

Did the brake lines going around the rear most bushing on the control arm need to be removed or can you get the control arm off by going around them? Thanks
@thatguygrego1328
@thatguygrego1328 3 года назад
You can go around them, you only need to disconnect the brake line from the strut assembly and other than that you can get the arm out with the lines still attached to the car and calliper.

Are the lower control arms the same as a sedan g37 ? From a coupe cuz i got a 08 coupe g37 an most parts i see dont specify what it is for a sedan or coupe an some say sedan ?

I’m not sure if they are the same I got the parts from Rock Auto and on their site they specify for coupe or sedan so I believe there may be a difference between the two

I think this is what Ibneed to do. My G37x makes a clunky noise when I put it in drive and reverse. Like any shifting forward or back. Wben a squeeky noise when going over bumps Is the the reason you changed yours?
@thatguygrego1328

I changed mine because I was getting a squeaky noise over bumps for clunking you might want to check your sway bar bushing

Why did you replace the arm? Was a bushing bad or making a klunking noise?
@thatguygrego1328

Bushing was bad
@skinnywhitepipe1
@skinnywhitepipe1 2 года назад
Appreciate it thanks. Was it the ball joint or one of the other two bushings, and was it making noise? Reason I ask is because my 370 is making some klunking noise on the driver side when I hit bumps, and I can’t for the life of me figure it out. But something in the suspension. Already changed the end links with SPL

@@skinnywhitepipe1 for me it was the ball joint , it was making sqeeking sound but I also had a clunking sound that was from a sway bar bushing that was worn and loose bracket

@AhsenJabbar

@@skinnywhitepipe1 did you ever find out? If it makes a clunking sound over bumps like mine does, it could be the ball joint. Jack the car up a little and slide a long pry bar under the tire and try to lift the tire, if you see play. It is the ball joint

@thatguygrego1328
@thatguygrego1328 3 года назад
This was a RWD model
@frankiehuertas4943
@frankiehuertas4943 3 года назад
RWD. If you have an AWD I'm going to assume if you need more space to move around the hub assembly you may have to unbolt the hub in order to slide out the front axle. Remove The Brake Piston 1-unbolt the 14mm bolts behind the front calipers...slide off the caliper piston and keep held up with a zip tie to not stress the brake line. Slide off the brake pads. Unbolt HUB 2-turn the steering wheel sideways to give you space to fit an impact or ratchet and unbolt the 17mm bolts behind the wheel hub (there are 4 bolts) unscrew the abs sensor 10mm bolt REMOVING AXLE NUT 3- take a thick screwdriver and insert it within the disc brake rotor slot and the caliper bracket to allow a stopping point so you can take an impact and remove the axle nut (size 32mm). And voila AWD G37 front axle can slide out back. Pro tip...if your axle is not sliding out reverse screw a nut onto the threading and take a hammer to it. Also if you're doing all of this work our wheel bearings go out quite often might as well replace while you're dismantling everything. sorry for the length. This is a great video with all the necessary steps awesome vid. For those like me always looking for the AWD info.
