Cheers for the heads up on the flowmasters you used. That really gives me an insight into the series I am looking to put on 450GT. Probably Delta Flow 50 series and cut the 2nd long resonaters right out, straight pipe it and open it up to 2.5 all the way and add the flowmasters either side. Cheers and thanks.
I used 3in steel piping that the shop had on hand. It took about two days for the car to self learn again after that it ran great! I'd recommend getting a hpipe welded in though. Might give it a better sound
Ravi Patel A simple muffler change should not have any effect on your catalytic converters. And if you are damaging converters, adding resonators would not solve the issue.
I did it just to please the dealership I know that after last point of emissions it shouldn't matter but they were not willing to budge. After 6 months of all testing they found that ecu malfunctioned due to a grounding issue and a coil pack wasn't operating correctly dumping fuel
Incorrect. The VH41DE and VH45DE are very well proven and reliable engines on par with the Toyota 1UZ (though not as well remembered). The VK45DE is the more problematic successor most known for its oil burning issue that clogs the cats (part of the exhaust manifold itself) and led to pre-mature engine failure. I have heard a few stories about poor grounding as well though (particularly ECU related)
