i'm actually pleasantly surprised and happy for the devs. this game went from a small dress up/fashionista mobile game to now having a full fledged open world game on new gen console. they've really taken off.
Is this the game that's reportedly going to be inspired by Breath of the Wild? I just saw something like.....2 days ago, and if this is it then I'm excited!
@@soulofartorias9928 i think that's the point. if it's catering towards the fans of the series then it's meant to be extremely casual. it is a mobile market that has gotten zero interactive gameplay.
looks like one of those fake mobile cinematics. no offense intended, im not the target they are after but i personally think that it is a shame not to turn it into a.... social/online multiplayer platform.
The fact that this came from just a simple dress up game....and it somehow became a fantasy open world that STILL keeps the dress up aspect....it's so weird but impressive
For anyone who is wondering about the game premise. Here is the gist from an interview with the game's producer (copy pasted from the love nikki fandom wiki): "There is a legendary suit that saved the world, which Nikki always wanted to obtain. Following her wish, Nikki embarks on a journey, and to find the legendary suit she is determined to become a Stylist. Stylists are those who are able to control special skills which come from special suits, and to become one Nikki ought to pass an examination to qualify as a professional Stylist. During the exam, she encounters a mysterious presence and accepts a special quest. Advancing through her adventure, Nikki reveals the secrets of the world." Btw, this is actually the fifth game from the Nikki Up2U series. It has a pretty long history: 1. Nikki Up2U ( 2012 - 2D) 2. Hello Nikki ~ Let's beauty up ~ (2016 - 2D) 3. Love Nikki - Dress up queen (2017 - Mix between 2D & 3D) 4. Shining Nikki (2021 - 3D)
@@caesard5641 That is so disappointing, I was in taken with Love Nikki, played it every day till 2020 when I had to drop it for exams and never got enough time for it again.
@@Tsumefan2 It is real. They opened a beta test China only a while ago and a public one just now. It does require a Chinese phone number to participate though.
Some odd years ago, I used to play Love Nikki, the mobile dress-up game religiously, but eventually stopped because of the slow creep of upped prices for literally everything, but I LOVED that game for quite a while, and I am very interested to see what this game has to offer. The trailer definitely leads to believe it has potential, but I'll keep my expectations in check for now. I hope it ends up actually being a complete game on release because this looks so fun and gorgeous.
It‘s so impressive that the devs managed to turn Love Nikki, a simple dress up mobile game, into a real next gen console open world journey!! Everything looks so fun! Can‘t wait for this magical experience~
It's so cool to see different outfits seemingly having different abilities. I bet stuff like 'outfit styles' will also play a big part in this game like in others. Honestly, I just wanna see if the Star Sea outfit comes back in this one like in other games cause I know they could probably give it a really cool power along with it!👀
For those wondering You play as Nikki. A girl that has infinite dreams to become anything in a world full of infinite possibilities Hence why its called Infinity Nikki
... So basically, she's a reality-bending eldritch horror. I'm calling the SCP foundation for countermeasures before that world is fully under her control..
I’ve played both Love Nikki and Shining Nikki for extended amounts of time so seeing them make an open world exploration game makes me so excited. I hope it lives up to expectations
From what I can tell, it seems like different outfits give you different powers or boosts. Thats a really interesting mechanic that I don't think has really been done before.
The funny thing is, One of the Game Designers of the Zelda BOTW, Kentaro Tominaga is working on Infinity Nikki! That's so cool!!! So you may feel familiar with some of Zelda gameplay such as the platforming, dungeon.
Oh, my gosh- it's turning into a real game??? I wanna cry, this is so fantastic. I saw the trailer and was like, "wait, is this the same Nikki? It couldn't be!" And then I saw Momo. We've come so far. I wonder if this is set in the past like Shining, or in the future like Love.
I was not expecting to see an open world game for my beloved dress up series but considering the world building in later games I'm very pleasantly surprised
Given how wonderful the Nikki mobile games have been, I'M SO EXCITED FOR THIS! This trailer looks promising for an open world mixed with dress-up game. Glad to see the money they've made so far has gone to further gameplay innovation. Can't wait to see more trailers and try this out!
when is it ever coming out ?? its been almost 1 whole year and the devs never gave any more details or updates on this game im getting so mad, why am i the only one who cares about this game..
i played love nikki RELIGIOUSLY in high school, and now that im in college with relatively more adult money, ive moved on to console gaming. im so happy to see this game coming out though and i WILL be tuning in
to me, it shows how SMART the developer work, and how amazing video game development tools helps to ease developer work. It looks like to have been made with procedural tools and/or "terrain painting/brush", and the assets even could be ploppable assets (maybe modified a bit) from asset stores.
@@moreuse even with that, most games arent that beautiful, despite that devs have the same tools, so i think we gotta give it to them, making the game as a whole look beautiful and coherent with the other aspects of the game isnt easy anyway
Sighs, 4 years it took to reach level 96 on Love Nikki as a V0 player then started to barely on Shining Nikki and now this beautiful graphic masterpiece comes out cries my heart 😭😭😭
If this game can do platforming, exploration, and simulation with a decent amount of minigames (activities) here and there, then this game will be alot of fun.
ive been playing the nikki games since 2013 and i cant believe its getting such a high quality open world game now.. it started from a simple game and im rlly happy that its getting more love and recognition now
Wow, I’m very impressed with this game. I can tell the developers put a lot of passion into this and time I don’t think it’s going to be releasing any time in the next year or two but there’s no reason for this game to not be majorly successful.
You mean artstyle ? Yeah this one is FAR from being amongst the best Level design looks kinda generic and zelda-like which is a bad thing if you seek satisfying exploration and immersive game world
Is it only Nikki and Momo? Do we get to see other characters too? Did the adventure take place in Miraland or new place? Hmmm.... A lot of questions right now. But the game looks beautiful, just like other titles. Btw, tomorrow (6/12/2022) gonna be Nikki,s 10th anniversary!!! Congratulations!!!
this is based on an app - game that I used to play where you dressed up your character, Nikki, and did 'battles' based off your outfit. This was done to progress the stories. Lots of microtransactions stopped playing it because of that but I loved it sooo much.
is the app a demo then if we've never heard of it!???? Its a mobile game???? soooooo if we gave the app a go..... it would literally be like this trailer???? looks fun! annnnd the infinite playstyles and abilities tied to your costume or outfit sounds amazing if done properly!???? sooooo the in game MXTs were outfit based!?????
@@antwango No it's nothing like this and the app has been out for a few years now. Yes mobile. It's called Love Nikki-Dress Up Queen. It's a pure dress up game and the clothes are beautiful. This looks like they took that character and the designs and evolved it to be a bigger game for more people to enjoy.
@@tomasito932 it's a purely 2D mobile dress-up game, the stories are quite interesting and the outfits are absolutely stunning. However, if you are a collect freak who must get everything in a game then it's not for you, you'll be selling an arm and a leg (might not even be enough) to collect everything. It's also very big for a mobile game--I eventually had to delete it because it was eating up my phone's memory to the point where I needed to do a clean up everyday for it to function properly (it was more than 3GB when I deleted it and gaining at every update, which happens about every 5 days) I'm quite excited for this version (kinda gives me a Lightning Returns vibe), hope it gets as many of those beautiful outfits as the mobile version.
Nikki ver 1, Nikki ver 2, Love Nikki Dress Up Queen, Mr. Love Queen, Shining Nikki, Love and Deepspace.. now I'm still patiently waiting for Infinity Nikki 😊
@@antwango The Nikki series, this is her fifth game. The last two games are in app stores as 2D and 3D dress up games (Love Nikki and Shining Nikki respectively).
Just saw the Cinematic trailer for this on the Playstation Japan channel, it looked like a movie! They should definitely make a full film from what they showed of her as a little girl looking for a flower. "Infinity Nikki: Nikki and The Goddess of Beautiful Dreams Trailer"
Wait is that the one with the yellow umbrella and grandmother?! I just watched a trailer and I’m trying to find what’s it about! Comment section is off and the title is I believe Japanese
Reminds me a of a less twisted version of Alice madness returns, platforming-wise is very similar right down to the dress gliding as well as turing small and large
Can't believe Nikki have gone so far 😭😭👏🏻 i've been playing Love Nikki since it's released in my country til now, always want to try Shining Nikki but my device isn't compatible nad now they are releasing an open world adventure??! Wow i hope some ytubers will post this gameplay once it's out😍👌🏻
Han pasado 10 meses y aun no sabemos nada mas del juego, solo leí que siguen en beta en China, solo espero no lo cancelen porque puede llegar a ser el juego perfecto para mi, ojala ahora en diciembre nos den un trailer nuevo 🥲
Dude what- this is so crazy cool. I was obsessed with the 2d mobile dress up game back when I was 13, I can’t wait to explore this whole new chapter in Nikki's universe. Its nostalgic and so uniquely new at the same time.😃Wow!
Graphic wise it's absolutely beautiful. Gamplay wise it looks like the game is filled with nothing and is in its beta play testing mode. But I'm looking forward to what it can become.
Yeah, everything is fine except the flow of the mc's movements, super stiff, there doesn't seem to be any momentum when moving and I feel that if I ever try it, it will drive me crazy
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think the intention of the game is to be a fighting game or anything like that. Mechanically, it looks like a game where you might use your character's abilities to indirectly fight back against monsters by interacting with objects in the world that actually do the fighting for you while the character mostly just dodges attacks.
@@Halwyn_Parrish Which is fine if that's what they are going for. But there's no point in putting all of this talent to work making such a pretty game only for it to not have anything engaging enough to either draw people to buying it (most likely $60+) Or to keep them playing upon purchase. While the target may be clear for what they want at the end of the day if the only people playing it were already Nikki fans OR people who like collection games then they would save a lot more money and time making a more simple looking game sadly. But that's just assuming the sales go down the way I am presenting them here and assuming there's nothing more that meets the eye here. Time will tell I suppose.
Update there have been several closed beta tests for PS 5 and PC in the past few months, a livestream of the gameplay and a in person beta test in Los Angeles back in May, don’t worry the game is happening.
@cloudb.1071 I'll rather play the perspective of a female character in 3rd person view than a male. Any day. But if the character starts moaning every a lot like in ff13 then that's a problem.
