I carry small portable fan. Surfaces acclimatized to ambient temperature. Cool the surface with fan. Different material transfers heat at different rate. Thermal cam can pick that up nicely.

It always depends on how much you can spend :D if you can afford then go with the T3S or T3 Pro, but if on the budget then choose the T2L. by the way. I am running a crazy promo for subscribers. Could you tell us whether you can manually set the temprature range on both of these? and can you to link them to a computer like webcam ... ive heard that they can be setup like that without the settings control. it would be nice to see a video on that , thank you for this video it is pretty informative

I was searching for programs that can make it work on windows but nothing yet. The PC recognizes it but has no software to process the data. If I ever find any I will make a video about it., would be an interesting topic.

Thankfully it's powered by the phone. and it has insane low power consumption. I cannot even compare it to FLIR Compact Pro because both T2 and P2 are far better than FLIR compact pro.

I was trying to connect it to a PC with some free software I found. maybe I did something wrong. it was recognized by name but did not give the image. Thermal cameras detect IR radiation differently than a digital cam detects light. So they need dedicated software that turns the changes in electrical resistance in each pixel into colors that we can understand as a picture. And I will keep looking for software that can allow them to be connected to a PC.

Hi this is a great video. I would like to ask if you can see your water pipes through the wall? I'm thinking of using it for leak detection in my home. Thanks for your response.

Directly you cant see pipes through walls. What these cameras see is Infrared radiation, So if that pipe has hot water running in it then you can see a hot spot where the pipe is if the wall not isolating too much. If a pipe leaking and any humidity go through the wall surface then you will see a cold spot. so technically can be used for leak detection

Can the app integrate the phone regular camera image with thermal IR camera image like the FLIR application?

No. But you know why FLIR using that? Because FLIR is trying to cheap out on the manufacturing by installing an example (FLIR One PRO) a low res 160x120 sensor coupled with a 1 dollar VGA camera and giving it a fancy name MSX to maximize profit. In the case of P2 or T2 256x192 you don't need an additional camera to enhance the details cause it's already 2,5 times more pixels than a 160x120 sensor. MSX is a marketing trick.

Hi. These cameras are not mountable to drones standalone. they work with the phone only. For drone-mounted cameras, you look at thermal camera modules that will be a future video/topic. But I created a Discord channel where everyone is welcome to join. Creating a community to help each other with info and ideas. All of these models are good for that. Thermal imagers do any job that has to do with temperature difference visualization. So if you have a leak under a hard floor and humidity able to pass through to cause evaporation then it shows up on the thermal image as a colder spot. If your budget allows you then no doubt go for the T3S. But if you want to save money that T2L. T2L is very well optimized for short circuit detection down to the macro level.

@@BushMasterThermal Thanks :) Well the T2S has a higher temperature range and 1c more accuracy. But for just watching stuff and not measuring the T2L is a little better, both have their own advantages

is there a reason you used screen recording instead of regular in app recording? Does the app let you record video without timelimit? i`m asking because the hti ht-301 seems to have issues as soon as the shutter clicks the app stops the video because of recalibration

Good question. Yes. The app is a bit buggy and recording and sometimes photo taking is either not working or app crashes. but depends on phones. at the moment I'm writing this response I'm using a POCO X3 Pro android 11, every function and both cameras P2 and T2 are working perfectly. also, I wanted to show the full interface in the video cause the app recording only records the actual view not the full interface

@Haroldo Hilário I think for T2 in the Xtherm app no manual temperature setting. have temperature correction but that did not make any change. But coming up in a week maybe 2 weeks with a new video about that T3S and after the T2L (T2L is basically the T2 search but a different lens) and then i will look into the software a bit more. T3S definitely has functions like that with the paid software. i will see what can i cook up :D

the widest FOV in the T3 series is the T3S. 23.6 degrees, i think that's optimal. why do you need wide FOV? i mean it means less detail,

I am trying to figure out wich I should buy: *Seek Thermal Compact* or the *infiray P2* They both cost roughly the same and have about the same resolution. The image from he P2 seems a lot clearer though. sharper and less lines and noise. however the seek has a much wider temperature range wich could come in handy: Seek: -40 to 330 C P2: -20 to 170 C P2 has a way higher framerate Seek: 9 hz P2: 25 hz Please help me choose!

Seek thermal compact have 32136 pixels. P2 have 49152 pixels. way better than the seek thermal compact. also that 9hz is terrible. and....i can give you discount on the P2 :D

Sure it's possible. it's in the settings as I remember. I don't have the P2 anymore so I cannot demonstrate it but I remember there is. Every InfiRay software has that option. Just go through the settings if you already have the camera and you will find it easy.

@@eeincredibles With cameras like this you can take pictures and photos of any hot object. but not too hot I mean 400c plus. you cannot point it to the sun or things above like 1000-1500c cause that would damage the sensor, due to the nature these sensors work. thermal cameras are not like a normal digital camera sensor. cameras that can measure to 2000c are industrial thermal images and they start from like 1500 dollars a semi-decent one. :D

the difference between T2 Search and P2 is not that big but the T2 search is better. manual focus, 12mm lens. But very well depends on what you want to do with the camera. for SMD and phone repair i recommend the T2L. for fun or basic home inspection, i recommend the P2. and for outdoors to see far I recommend the T2 Search

All tho the resolution is the same on both As you can see on the video the T2 is way better at finding small shorts because of the manual focus. But you can also work with P2. Takes a few minutes of practice to get used to but you can locate any short as well. The T2 is for more spoiled eyes :P :D Hopefully soon I will make a review about the T2L, it has manual focus and in price is between the p2 and t2 search.

P2 is cheaper by at least 90 dollars. so the T2 search is a better choice if you have the money for it. Because of the manual focus, T2 also better for electronics repair. P2 is more for general inspections but its super small,

This was a board with damaged LGA socket traces, so I just replaced some good components with faulty ones and turned it into a short circuit demonstration board :D

@@FreeFrag777 Oh, I see what you mean. i forgot that in the video I was using a Z97 board. That was damaged for real. the 3.3v rail, The Z97 chipset was shorted to the ground. that track is going under the CHIP

Maybe like 20m. never measured. but it has fixed focus.

@@dic-vr2mx It means you cannot change focus, So let's say example the focus (The distance to see clear) is set to 20cm to 20m before and after that range the view is blurry. With manual focus or like in photo cameras automatically you can compensate to alter that range of clear view.

@@dic-vr2mx I think as I tested P2 can see like 80m with no problem. but if you want to see far then get the T2 Search, it is designed to see far, a very good option.

I made all the tests in the night time and I'm living in an urban area so not many animals here to detect apart of dogs and cats :D Birds also hiding that time on rooftops. Are some shots in the video at 27:53 where some dogs running around about 40 meters away from me. they can be seen clearly. so I guess birds as well can be seen with as good details, Coming out in less than 2 weeks with a new video about the T3S and later the T2L. with them i will try to search some smaller animal around, birds maybe squirrel if I'm lucky :)

Way too lengthy with little substantial information. More like a commercial product show than a review and test. As the specs are quite identical, the main difference seems to be the lens and the focal length. Alas, there is no test showing how this has an impact on practical use. Also, the P2 is specified with a higher temperature range of -20..170 degrees C as opposed to -20..120 degrees for the T2.

If you take the time and watch through the video you will find all the "substantial" information. with test videos in different environments, scenarios, and distances. All information that need to know and what I know is there to anyone :) That's exactly why the video is lengthy, to cover 2 cameras. If it would be any shorter than it would be a Commercial product show. Chapters included. And yes. you can see the impact of the focal length difference in practical use as seen on the test videos. example short circuit detection tests.
