INFJs and ENTJs in relationships 

Well. I am an INFJ and I'm kinda "crushing" on an ENTJ for it's assertiveness and I'm borrowing the energy from ENTJ of moving faster.

Sounds like you both have a good relationship which is nice :) I do think INFJs and ENTJs can bring out the best in each other, they are a perfect mix of challenging each other but also understanding where the other comes from because they both have Ni. It would be interesting to see what is different with an ENTJ female and an INFJ male, if you come across one it would be intriguing to see what, if anything, is different. Thank you for sharing, it's interesting for me to hear from an ENTJ female what the relationship dynamic is like

@@stephkeller2837 Between 2 healthy types it could work. It didn't for me. In the beginning, we brought out the best in each other. At the end, we brought out the worst.

@@ienigma220 I can definitely see how that could happen. You do need to have both people ready and willing to change and adapt in order to make the other person happy. If one isn't happy changing at all then it probably won't work

I know it’s not a one size fits all answer.However, I love human behavior and learning to strengthen our weakness to become a better person for ourselves and for others. Of course you can, I will answer the best that I can. That is really good to hear; we should always be improving ourselves. I would say that the guy is probably trying to read you. Maybe he wants to learn more about you because he finds you interesting, and a way some INFJs do that is to watch your reaction when they say things so they can figure out if you like it/are interested/don't like it... Does he do this whenever you talk, or do you notice it happening when you are talking about certain things? See if you can find a pattern; he may do it more when you talk about your job, or your interests, or your views on the world, or maybe it's all the time. If I was doing that, it would likely be because I am interested in an area and I wanted to learn more about your views or feelings about that area. Hope that helps a bit

@@stephkeller2837 Ty- It’s been said that an INFJ is interested with you more thank a friend than they would reveal more personal information. How would you know what u heard from them is personal?? They open up to random people with what I think is personal. From you what were some examples of how you would know that they are sharing personal information to as oppose to just friends? This one touches a LOT. I recoil bc well … Amd ENTJ likes the sere personal space unless they like u -- that’s the exception.

@@lisaalvarez1142 @Lisa Alvarez In my experience, I will only share personal information with people I don't know well if I think it will help them in some way. So if they are going through a break up that they are finding difficult, I may share some of my experience and what I did that helped in order to help them as well. I wouldn't just share personal information without a reason. I believe it is a sign of vulnerability, so I would share in a personal relationship to show that I trust the other person and I value the relationship. I think being vulnerable is a massive part of being in a personal relationship, especially an intimate one, so it's a way of testing whether I think this relationship is going to work (if I don't feel comfortable sharing or if I share and it gets used against me/spread to other people, then the relationship probably won't work). So I would look for whether the personal information they are sharing is relevant to your conversation, and whether you are going through an issue that they are likely trying to help with. If they are sharing because they want to vent then that is also a good sign; I don't tend to share my problems with anyone because I don't want to burden others and I know they've probably got lots to deal with too, so if I share personal problems then that means I trust the person and it will be a very close relationship. It is really good that you choose to accept people no matter what. Sadly, there isn't enough of that in our world. Accepting people for who they are is one of the most important things in a relationship, but it does take maturity to do so. Thank you for your comment :)

Haha I see. As an INFJ , have to tell me that its different for every INFJ in these little thoughts and habits. I don’t believe in rebirth and i like to zoom out occasionally but not for that long . Hope u meet someone interesting and compatible later!

@@youniqca1489 some thought process and habits are definitely understandable; however, watching ceiling for hours kinda looks a little weird especially when that overthinking is self destructive. I did know that INFJs are deep thinkers, but messing up everything good in life due to overthinking was something new to me. Surprisingly, so far most sites says, INFJs are perfect for ENTJs. They take off the ruthless edge of ENTJs, but I did meet 5 more INFJs apart from her and from personal experiences, it seems ENTJs and INFJs aren't a good match for a romantic relationship. As for me, I gotta keep hustling.

I would say, based on the cognitive functions, INFJs and ENTJ probably aren't the best match as their Fe and Te will clash a lot. Personally, I have developed my Ti a lot so can relate to his Te and explain my values in a way he will understand. But I also have an ISTJ dad so I learned to do this from a young age. Possibly this helps, because I wouldn't suggest an average INFJ who is highly sensitive to be with an ENTJ, and from my research most people think it's not the best match. I think together they make a brilliant team, but there is a lot of areas that both parties need to be willing to adapt and work on in order to make the relationship work.

@Steph: Keller you're perfectly right about clashing Fe and Te. Sometimes INFJs do understand why ENTJs do certain things, but still it's not appealing to them. From what I understood is, since INFJs are deep thinkers, they work in a grey area between yes and no (precisely, may be, could be things) which doesn't work with ENTJs. Also, that grey area isn't exactly justifiable which makes it difficult for INFJs to make others understand it. And OMG, do they get offended when you confront them about that grey area! 🤣 Steph, I think you're doing great! If you keep explaining your emotions more vocally, it would always work like a charm. We aren't feelers, but we understand if explained well and with a gentle persuasion. For the match, I don't think it's impossible, if both handle it with maturity and understanding about how both's cognitive functions work, there's a substantial amount of potential in this match. For example, imagine a lifelong feeler who couldn't make certain rational decisions at work to become successful or a lifelong thinker who offends most people perpetually by being blunt and rational/emotionless!

Oh nice. Is your experience anything like what I have shared?

My mom can be pretty blunt so that doesn't always sit well with my highly sensitive nature. I do like that she now understands my need for solitude, though it wasn't always like that. She used to get on my case for not having more friends when I was really just content being alone most of the time.

@@strikingly105 I am glad she is beginning to understand you more. It can be difficult for extroverts to understand our need to be alone a lot, that it actually makes us happy to spend time alone. And yes, being blunt is definitely something ENTJs like doing a lot. It can be difficult to hear but I like to think that at least I know my ENTJ partner is being honest, I don't need to worry about him sugar-coating things for me. Thank you for sharing, it is nice to hear another INFJ-ENTJ relationship as they are both rare types.

It can be a difficult relationship to have at times, but incredibly strong when you can make it work
