Thanks for watching! Ooh I’ve been meaning to try using dark sleepers 🤔. Do you have any recommendations on how to work those? I wanna get out there at night because I feel like spotties are more active at night, but I still need to get some lights to put on the boat first haha
@@CatchFishNotFeelingsYT So my go to colors are Wakasagi and Hanahaze! They always produce. I fish a lot of jetties so I normall cast somewhat parallel to the rocks. Maybe 10-15 yards in front of the rocks and SLOWLY creep it on the bottom back to me. I incorporate some hops but I havent noticed too much of a difference w hopping vs straight retrieve
I’ve caught a few mostly from the beach soaking squid strips. Finally got a couple on a small keitech and cool baits underspin. Haven’t been too lucky on my little Whaler. Need to try that night bite around the docks. Always go in the day and have only gotten them at the far end of Marine Stadium. Always scared to fish the marina on my skiff during the day cause of the no fishing signs.
Thanks for watching! I’ve definitely been meaning to try an underspin. I’ve usually stuck with a drop shot with a Berkeley mullet and I’ve had luck with a Wet bandit bait and jig tube bait (similar to hook up bait). Yeah I think I’m a whaler it’s a bit hard to fish around the marina. Most of the locals are okay with fishing in the dock slips and I’ve only been asked to fish elsewhere my a police patrolling on a bike. I think your allowed to fish at the docks at the end of slips, just not inside. If anything, a fish finder might be great to find eel grass and structure. Tight lines!
Thanks for watching! A 6-7ft rod works well if you’re fishing around the harbor. These spotties and other fishes tend to not be far away from the docks. A size 2000 or 3000 spinning reel works well and I’d recommend anywhere between 8lb-20lb line. These guys aren’t gonna pull a crazy amount of line out. Hope this helps and tight lines 🤙🏻
