Our GDP Growth is likely to be at or below zero on the next GDP report. I think that is why Powell has been making the comments he has been making. Consumer spending is in freefall. Wages are actually dropping... It's going to be bad.

Your going to need that interest to pay the higher prices that comes with higher interest rates and now the government will tax that money too. The only time inflation is actually good is if you can generate more money on interest than you spend and that has to have taxs figured into the calculations.

@@christiangardener6073Why is that? Higher interest rate means lower price level so you spend less and grow your savings faster, the only issue is it’s harder to keep your job and find a new job, but if you can keep your job anyway then higher interest rate is a good thing.

Wait today PPI up and trending higher. Business being squeezed by higher wage issues some material cost & supply issues. Would not be good to raise rates even though cpi cooler. Just going to cause cpi to reverse and go higher if they do. Imho still not high enough unemployment that’s what’s going to really suppress both cpi and ppi… But hey I’m not Wall Street

When I use to live in India that’s exactly what they used to do “shrink flation” the size of cookies became smaller and lot of other stuff too. It was just ridiculous and the price remained the same. So this is happening in America now. So we have joined the ranks of under developed nations now. Welcome to new America where every commodity will be scaled down but the price is not going to change. The quality and quantity is going to be horrendous.

Inflation, debt, and no savings hurting USA both government and citizens. Government must stop overspending. Taxes need to increase vs printing money to get out of debt. Physicians and others taxed over 50%. Many people moving to tax friendly states. In UK some wealthy leaving the country because taxed too much. How much more can you tax the rich as the poor and middle class are maxed out paying the hidden tax, inflation. Even if people moved to Mexico to work and live you must still pay USA taxes

We already just been seeing employers being too agressive with hiring due to business demand and now that has slowed and employers notice that they now have too much employees and no business which is why they are now laying off, going bankrupt and shutting doors. What about cumulative inflation? We are still feeling the lingering effects of high inflation from 2-3 years ago! I highly doubt that they’ll cut rates.
