The S&P 500 moved 8.9% higher last Month, achieving one of its best monthly performances in history.. which is an indicator for profits to continue to improve. I just want my money to keep outgrowing the inflation rate. I'm still looking for companies to make additions to my $500K portfolio, to boost performance. Here for ideas...

A lot of folks downplay the role of advisors until being burnt by their own emotions. I remember couple summers back, after my lengthy divorce, I needed a good boost to help my business stay afloat, hence I researched for licensed advisors and came across someone of utmost qualifications. She's helped grow my reserve notwithstanding inflation, from $275k to $850k.

The American government should be ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES for allowing seniors to have to work for food and basic necessity. If the government can support a war...then the government should be able to take care of American seniors who have worked all their lives. This is very DISGUSTING.

#1 - They're not allowing seniors to have to work. There are government programs, like social security and medicare. #2 - I thought republicans don't like "entitlement programs". They already complain about social security. Heck, former Texas governor Rick Perry called it a Ponzi scheme! You can't have it both ways. Either we're supposed to "pick ourselves up by our bootstraps" or we want a socialist government, something republicans hate. Sorry, don't know what to tell this woman.

Both my children are in their 30s and I have already told them that they should be prepared to work well past retirement age because they won't be able to retire at 65. Some people who read this will say, "then they need to start saving now for their retirement" but the truth is, most Americans today cannot afford to save any money when they have to support families on low pay.

This is why behavioral health clinic are overloaded and suicide statics get higher. This is an overwhelming situation that our country and even the world are facing right now. Wealthy politicians from both parties destroying this country. I am single mother and work 10-hour days just to survive. My job is mentally and emotionally exhausting and the demand to perform at unrealistic and superhuman levels has me to point where I am facing severe anxiety and stress and that is on top of already living with mental health issues. I stress knowing I can barely support myself and my son and have no opportunity to save. The thought that I have to work until I die and that my son will probably being doing the same is severely depressing. I am sick of politicians making decisions for the country and corporate greed and the media celebrating the Kardashians and other celebrities who want to make comments on work and struggles. I will say growing up in the 80s and 90s and even 2000's life was happier and normal. This is despair and chaos.

it’s not a coincidence that millions of people haven’t been able to save enough for retirement, employers have successfully kept a mass pool of essential jobs at a low paying rate to save money and pay share holders. This results in desperate enough people to take those jobs so they can eat, keep the electric on and not be homeless. Education costs have been raised to a financially unattainable rate for those who live check to mouth- even if they had the money, the system that has been purposefully sculpted as we’re experiencing it today ensures you have no time to improve. Improvement is the loss of an employee in servitude. Shame on you for blaming victims of a calculated bloodsucking system.

At 60 (I'm now 65), I took my retirement savings and purchased a condo so that he could live with me and I could care for him. My son and I are literally dwelling in the retirement funds that might have cushioned me in my old age, and SS isn't enough to sustain us. Sadly, few bothered to prepare for their own well being. I'm 69, worked like a demon as a hairdresser for 20 years to pay off my house in 14 years, invest, save and prepare for old age. What is baffling about some of these retirees is how they don't know of the programs that can help them. It's great this person was willing and able to go back to part-time work. Many retirees that make average income on social security do have a difficult time. However how is it that they don't know about renters assistance? How is it that they don't know about property tax reductions? How is it that they don't know if they're not making a certain median income that they can get free healthcare? How is it that they don't know that if they're not of retirement age they can go on SSDI or SSI? There's a lot of how is it that they don't know. Here's one example. Every state if a retiree owns a home has some type of program to reduce their property taxes. However the government says that usually only 60% of retirees ever use the program. When a person retires they can't retire their brain! You got to think man. Social security is not even considered income as the government would classify income. That means if you work part-time the income is below the federal poverty level. That opens up a plathora of federal and state programs. However the media never talks about any of this. They only talk about how bad things are and that's the only thing the media is good at.

WHAT renter's assistance? The emergency programs from Covid are all running out and there hasn't been a good solution for that problem for years. Now everyone needs it which makes it a forgone conclusion people like us are just doomed to die on the street. The government has robbed the welfare programs like Social Security for years and we're all paying the price now, except the damn crooks who spent us into this mess in the first place. The sad thing is everyone believes we have adequate welfare programs to assist the needy, but once you start earnestly trying to get the help because you need it you find out it largely doesn't exist.

Without getting into specifics; at least a part of the issue is the person themselves. My brother and I are nearly the same age. Talk about a "Tale of Two Cities". He always smoked pot, partied, laughed about going to college. He'd only talk about it so our Mom would give him some old clunker. He wet nursed pretty much his entire life. Finally started working half-time when he was mid-30's. I did the exact opposite. Retiring as an FDIC Bank Examiner after 33 years service, and I work in the Treasury Dept of a major bank. Suffice it to say I'm doing fine and do not need to work in retirement. But, hey, I'm late-50's and no sense chasing a white ball around swacking at it with a club all day. Maybe in 3-5 more years. Oh, my brother's solutions once Mom died and no longer gave him $ ??? The first was to literally fall to his knees crying, begging, clasping his hands. Begging me for money. I told him to get up and at least try to act like a man. Suddenly the tears disappeared and he was fine, BTW. Then, his fallback plan ? He had it all figured out. If I would only work an extra 8 or 9 months past whenever I planned to fully retire; giving the $ to him, why... I'd "Save his life" !!! Wouldn't I do that for my own brother ??? Sniffle, cry. "Fox you" was my response. Then, he referenced knocking himself off; and I told him to make sure to do it outside so he would not mess his house (which Mom gave him) up.... Just ticks me off. As an aside, I haven't spoken with him in three years. Stunningly, he managed to find a full time job and is apparently getting by OK. This is via his daughter, whom I get along great with. Anyway..... All this "Oh Gawd, Oh Gawd ! Whoa is me; no one Nevah did Nuthin' foH me !" BS is just that. At least in his case. Ticks me off. By the way, I got a baseball bat up the you-know-what. Mom's rationale before she died ? She said I would always be fine, but my brother needed "A little help". OMG.

The other; not so bad financially; but morally, uhm.... Let's just say she has hit on all her sisters husbands (one successfully that we are aware of). So, yep. I also have to work a part time job 3 days a week at a hotel overnight so I can do my school work as it would be a job I can do my school work while working as a hotel isn't the type of job you have to find something to do to help with the insurance premiums and then I drive Uber/Lyft on my time off. If over 66 at least the Social Security isn't penalized working. between ages 18 and 65 they had 47 productive years to provide for the time when work was no longer an option. They had 47 years to buy a home and save, if they didn't make enough they had 47 years to get some education to earn more, work over time, a second job to save. I was a single mom and a hairdresser and I bought a house and invested. I'm 69 now and set comfortably. NONE of my peers at the salon where I worked ever bothered to put away a dime.
