@@peeerlyb.7762 actually what she did on Netflix shows is very risky. Not just for herself but also for other stars and for Netflix itself. The brand can sue both her and Netflix.
I don't really understand why people are going crazy over her "faking an image". Creators have been doing that to please the audience for years, that's how social media is. Plus people are always comes off as different online than real life.
Exactly! If they want to cancel her because of faking a persona then why not give that same energy to other influencers or even idols to take accountability.
Faking a persona is another issue but the serious thing she did is doing overhaul youtube reviews saying it's original, where she bought it, saying her dad bought it for her, showing receipts where basically this are all lies. And the result is she's taking youtube revenues out of it. Aside that it's illegal promoting counterfeit products by doing vlogs and wearing it in international show which is Netflix.. that's just not right. Actually she admitted that she lied and deleted a lot of her videos already.
@@lubdab I agree, I’m baffled as to why Jia and her team have the guts to pull that on international show. I’m glad that she apologized and take accountability for that. Idk if she really sold herself as ‘rich girl’. She definitely liked calling herself ‘hot girl’ and its a little sad to see that she feels the need to get fake designer items to complete the hot girl image, but I like watching her for her personality and style ( not the designer ones), and also for how often she uploads, which shows how hard working she is. I hope that from this experience she will learn, besides imo she handled the situation fairly well and the apology seems decent enough. Hope that she will continue making videos and promoting herself
All I know is she wear pretty clothes and I don’t know why she feel the need to lie to people about owning Chantel clothes and bags. I find nothing really good about these expensive stuff. They are only expensive and desirable because rich people want to wasted their money.
She made RU-vid videos saying she was wearing the last piece dress in the country (which was fake) she also carried Chanel paper bags in the show I don’t know why and she claimed those items were real so how are u thinking she’s not claiming ? well, Jia really promoted herself more as a hot girl and in the show, with Eunbi she was all about a hot girl that's her image. And on a Q&A she was asked if she is rich or not and she answered that she is not rich but her family always provided her with everything and was supportive of her decisions, so she is grateful to them( something along those lines). She never said she was rich and even if she pays monthly rent she still pays money it's not like you get to pay less if you pay monthly. And if her company paying for it then the company's also making money from her they won't do anything for free. So cancelling her seems too much to me.

i don't mind fake designer items cause not everyone can buy the real thing, even i have a fake gucci bag my aunt gave me 😭 i'm just a bit disappointed that she continued to lie about it
If you have a fake gucci bag, would you go around telling people that it's fake. The moment you buy and uses it, people are going to think that it's the real thing. Jia is already reflecting on what she did. And by the way @Princess, the apartment is not "Cheap." It cost $4,000 to rent that one-room apartment. Mortgage payment on a whole HOUSE that you buy is roughly $1k to 4k already. Normal rent cost in Korea is only a few hundred dollars, not thousands. That apartment is not "CHEAP," it's extremely expensive because a lot of popular Korean celebrities live there with high security. There's nothing wrong with renting an apartment.
@@melody3014 yeah of course you won’t go around telling people that its fake but it goes both ways too. don’t go around telling people the item you bought is real when its not 🤷♀️ although yeah i agree with the apartment because i think she lives in gangnam
Princess What a funny comment. Her apartment isn’t cheap. Plus she clearly said in IG that PARTLY of the ‘fake designer clothes issue’ is true, and that means not all of her clothes are fake. And even the Single Inferno started, she already had many subscribers and viewers in her yt, and I can say that she had money lol.
Is it weird this makes me love her more? Like the fact she managed to make everyone idolize her and pretty much exploited the Korean superficiality is fascinating to me tbh
What's wrong with renting an apartment? I'm so confused. She's still living in the apartment, and it's not like she rented it only for a few hours to make videos. Jia is also right about her apartment's worth to be around ~3 million. Her company also confirmed that she's paying for it by herself. $4,000 a month is still a LOT of money to rent an apartment. Jia is definitely rich but not ultrarich. Jia also explicitly said that she is not a "golden spoon" in her old video. She never lied about her background or her rich family. People just kept assuming things because of her image, even though she already denied it. The only thing she did wrong is buying fake goods. I'm not even surprised at this point because in Asia, fake designer clothes are rampant. Do you think she would buy fake clothes and then say "oh they're fake." It's just common sense at this point. Influencers and even normal people would buy fake designer clothes to look good without breaking the bank (ex: it cost $4k for a channel tshirt/top). I have family members and friends in Asia that also bought/wear fake designer clothes. It's everywhere you go, even at a normal supermarket. Sure it's morally wrong/copyrights or whatever. The only difference is normal people wouldn't be called out and exposed. Jia is already reflecting on it. I don't think it's necessary to witch hunt and destroy her whole career
People are angry she didnt disclose it as something bought by a company ig..but idl i dont think its problematic...company or her own, she live there, its still like..in a sense... Hers?
You have a good point! But Jia rent/bought the apartment by herself. Her company didn't buy it for her (they already confirmed this). I doubt that they'd be willing to spend $4,000+ on a luxury apartment when rent in Korea is only a few hundred + they're a small company. Knetz are upset because they thought JIA is the owner of her apartment (you can buy it fully for $3 million). They're basically upset that JIA is not an ultra rich/billionaires like they thought she is
Louder for the people in the back! Also in one of her videos she did mentioned that most of her outfits she has are not branded. IDK probably I’m reading too much into it but in a way she already hinted so many times that she is just well-off, not ultra rich.
The problem is she made the fake designer clothes look better than the real stuff 😂 You can’t deny her allure and presence. Not forever, it depends on what you've done. I have a feeling she won't be cancelled "forever". Besides, the time people did actually got cancelled was when they were dealing with illegal activities (drugs, yadda yadda), bullying so it's not like people who did actually get cancelled didn't deserve some aspect of it (although cancelling culture in of itself can be very problematic).

I don’t know why people are mad at her for “faking her richness” when there are literal tutorials everywhere for how to make yourself look richer- a trend very popular in Asia too. The only issue is claiming it’s real designer when it’s not… but overall presenting yourself as “rich” isn’t a crime

Most foreigners won't understand the seriousness of this issue because a large part of it also has to do with the Korean advertising law. If you follow K-media you would have noticed that almost all k-dramas and variety shows do not show branding either by using black tapes or blurred out in post production. Brands and logos are only shown when the show has received sponsorship from those brands and this is declared at the end. I don't know the intricate details of the law behind this because I'm not a lawyer, but trust me it is a very sensitive issue and is taken very seriously to the point that there have been cases where very big Korean influencers had to close down their channels for simply failing to make proper declarations about sponsorship deals in their contents.
This happens in our country, too. So it's no surprise that they are strict with counterfeit and genuine luxury items. Lol in some parts of the world competitors can casually namedrop other brands, but ofc that isn't the case everywhere that's why issues like these arise

people really picked and looked for anything bad to find about her. she never said she was rich. she fit the look because she was beautiful. she still ate up the fits and why would anyone care if its fake. people are really trying to bring a beautiful and successful woman down
buying fake is very problematic, imagine someone stole your idea and then go and make money with it+ counterfeit industry found other illegal activity such as selling guns and human trafficking
she said she had a apartment that cost 3mil dollars a month, wore designer clothes, used expensive things, ofc ppl were gonna think she was rich ?? and she knew that too, that’s why she bought all that stuff. i’m convinced that all of her stans are mentally ill cuz y’all are very hard headed
As a fan of hers before the show I agree that maybe she bought into this whole 'rich girl' image but I definitely don't agree with the extreme harrassment she's been getting.. it feels more like a witchhunt than calling out her behavior at this point. It's also interesting how South Korea netizens have much stronger opinions about this than international fans, guess it's a cultural thing

I find it hilarious that Korean people dislike her for "faking a personality" while stanning kpop idols 🤪 there's nothing real in that industry and also Korea is literally designer knock-off paradise, I'm really weirded out by the hypocrisy like wtf🥴🥴🥴 leave song jia alone 😔. Last but not least, she always introduced herself as a "hottie" rather than a rich girl (? If you're a follower of her, you'll know
This is bullying.... no matter if they are a celebrity or not. Just because of fake brands and all- it’s not necessary to take it to this extent and people are not ready for that conversation.
I’ve been in a relationship for almost 4 months now and to be honest… he definitely looks a lot better with a mask on. But I love him anyways, he’s a wonderful person and I don’t judge based off of physical appearances. He’s so good to me and i’m happy to be with him ❤️
That is such a sweet comment~I also think people become more attractive physically when we start to find them attractive internally. A good personality totally changes the way you view someone even physically.
I look really good with a mask on, i don't take off my mask most of the time when I am out. I remember there was a guy who told me I look pretty (I was wearing a mask) and I was like "I bet you'll change your statement once I take off my mask lmao, if you are interested in me by my looks, then I would like to tell you reality isn't what you are expecting it to be"💀
This is ridiculous. She is a very lovely charismatic girl. Are they gonna check her underwear too?? Those people are lame. Wow!! We will continue to support you lovely. Things are changing around the world. So you will continue to thrive. You will not get canceled over something dumb. Keep posting. Dont let no one discourage you.
She owns only 8 fake designer out of 500, and she didn’t even say that she’s rich nor state that she wears only designer brand but she said that she buys it if it’s pretty. It’s just the netizen mind that needs therapy! And it’s nothing wrong to live luxuriously even if she’s poor and if she’s paying her rent then she owns the house! People really need to learn to mind their business
Maintaining her lifestyle is very hard at an early age. I always had a feeling that this isn’t real but i still love her and support her, she has a great personality and good relationship with her family and followers.
I don’t see a problem with her faking her luxury life because she’s literally not hurting anybody. As long she’s not hurting anybody, it should not be problem because there’s a lot of people that wears fake brands and she’s not the first or last person to do so. They really need to give her a break and let her live her life lol !

They get more worried about fake brands showing up on tv, than them being colorist and phobics about certain topics. Liiiiike where are there priorities at? 🤨
I feel there’s a difference between wearing fakes versus acting like they’re real. People want honesty and the influencer is one who influences and that people follow. Then to have discovered the lies reveals they were following someone who was lying to them.
Poor girl she's recieving too much hate and now she deleted all her Instagram posts. I know it's not a good thing to be fake but she's not hurting anyone. I wish her to be strong and not get depressed poor girl 😢
She’s hurting the brands she made hauls and reviews on while knowing there were fake. And maybe she didn’t hurt anyone with this controversy but with her promotion of ed, “eating 3 meals a day makes u fat” “just don’t eat and u won’t gain weight” etc
I think people took the digging into her background too far when they looked into her financial status, her house, and her family. That stuff has to do with her privacy. I don't mind that people buy fake designer things. The part that I think is/was wrong is/was that she pretended they were legit/real designer items and made a profit from videos she did about the items.
I mean if she’s posting all those things on social media sooner or later ppl would found out that it’s fake, did she think all ppl are that stupid??? 🤣🤣🤣
Wearing counterfeit products is one thing, but doing overhaul youtube reviews showing off this pieces of items is on another level. Like, what the heck.. Building an "image" based on this kind of lies and getting revenues out of it.. SMH Really embarassing. It's a disappointment to the viewers who knows what Song Jia.. err.. Song Hyunji really did. Confidence my ass! ㅎㅎ
She got famous because of her personality. If fans are only following her because they assumed she was rich(which she never claimed), I don’t think it’s her problem...
There’s nothing wrong about wearing fake designer except for like fast fashion, but putting that aside. I believe that trust and honesty between a creator and their audience is important
rich people buy fakes too, they mix their things with authentic and fakes, but you can't really notice because of the quality of the fakes they buy. and they're rich so one wouldn't really ask
I don't know...I'm conflicted because I liked her content way before Single's Inferno and I knew her already from Chuu's channel. I personally don't really care if her items are fake, but I can understand why some people would be bothered by it. At the end of the day, Jia's still pretty, she knows how to do makeup and she's fashionable.
I watched her ‘what’s in my bag’ video where she showed some of her luxury bags and there’s one knock off bag, she did mentioned that one bag is knock off, she bought it because she thought it’s pretty. I think she does have a lot of luxury items but at the same time she also have fake items. But after her letter, now everyone thought everything she wears are fake. I know this whole situation is kinda embarrassing to her image, I feel so bad for her. I hope she will come out with her confidence and try to fix all of this things. Fighting Jia. 💪🏼
The fact that they also dug stuff about her parents show that these people really want to destroy not just her but her family too. If they have these much time on their hand they should help police solve a crime that hard to solve.
More than her reputation, I think this controversy damaged her credibility. I thought that she wasn't particularly honest when she openly denied having any cosmetic procedures apart from rhinoplasty, while it was obvious that she had more tweakments. Of course, she isn't obligated to divulge anything but to lie on national TV without batting an eye is what ruined her credibility for me. Ji A has been dishonest multiple times despite being aware that thousands of people are going to be watching her. It's just sad. Since she's been caught lying in the past, people will hereafter doubt everything she'd say. In a way, I also feel bad for her. She, like everyone else, had her own insecurities, maybe her wealth and image is one of them. I hope she'll reflect on this and learn to love herself for who she is.
Yeah seemed like she had her nose, lips done aside from her eyes, probably did something else to her face too and also her body, the most obvious one is the chest.
@@user-hw7dz7mg5n I don’t think she’s had her eyes done because her eyes are asymmetrical and if she had them done they be more symmetrical she’s also shown photos of her dad and her dad has really big eyes like her
