I'm off social media besides youtube and quite honestly sometimes I'm happy ab situations like this. not that I don't want people to make money, but it sucks that it's usually privileged people finding relatively easy ways to make money meanwhile working class people don't have the LACK OF DIGNITY to just become influencers and continue to suffer in regular people jobs. It's dystopian. the rich get richer and live not only out of touch but a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT WORLD than that of regular / poor people. EVERYONE can live in / see the idealistic rich people life, yet nobody chooses to watch the unaesthetic, draining life that most people deal with. We only see the same things repeated and idealized and in the process we're all becoming the same boring person and eliminating the voices of struggling people. I don't like it here and I miss ACTUAL casual Instagram. I miss when we were having fun online and that's all it was. (not to invalidate how creepy internet also could be at that time but ykwim. we CHOSE to share stuff that WE thought was fun, and there wasn't much else to it. just genuine self expression)

the problem with a lot of influencers is that they have no control over algorithms or payout changes on the platform i.e youtube got significantly more strict on its content about a year ago a lot if channels vies dropped or tik tok changed its payout style

I’m very selective with the content I watch, especially on RU-vid. I avoid influencer type of content, especially the unrealistic ones. When I say “unrealistic” I mean I cannot relate. Consume content that teaches you something, you can relate to, funny, or makes you comfortable. That’s the best advice I can give. P.S. - I get that influencers deserve to be paid well. However, us working class people deserve to be paid better too. So, when we hear about influencers complaining about their finances. We feel some type of way😃💯

I know it’s easy to be mad about the guy complaining about the 4k video. However imagine if you work everyday making videos not knowing how well they are going to do and on average only 1 in 500 goes viral enough for a big payout. You’d be disappointed too if you spent weeks chasing that viral success only to see that the payout for that success is now way less than it used to be. Let’s be real there are almost no creators on tik tok that are worth anything they are all just gambling on that algorithm jackpot, so I’d be pissed to if I was gambling and the jackpot got smaller.
