I didn't attend a for-profit university, but I did attend the MBA program of a state school that very much seemed like a degree mill to me. Sure, I had a few classes in person, but the fact that I got straight A's in the program without trying that hard, wasn't allowed to take any more actual coding classes after they found I had taken one. It was all just a bunch of write ups on strategy and other vague business nonsense. Still a little shame if I ever mention that I have an MBA.

The best thing is, Howard is also the name of a university, so I initially thought she was talking about that. THEN the references to howard the ai come up and it goes off the rails.

The book "Bad Biz: Your Guide to Starting a For Profit College" by Corin Devaso is an interesting read. It's satire that shows how some colleges scam.

Building collapses always hindered my higher education pursuits. I don't know why it's such a taboo subject to even bring up when discussing the challenges one faces when pursuing a degree. I lost 2,729 of my closest friends to building collapses whilst in skool. FPOU is really onto something with the whole elimination of physical structures concept of higher education. After a while you don't even notice Howard, but you can never let your guard down and reveal your true name to him - once you do, he has power over you.
