Amusing. I am only discovering the Scandinavian comedy scene. Another stand up comedian from Iceland, appeared as a guest on a TV show last night. This is what led me here.
@@mrunalturalkar8405 Ari led me here and I was searching for Ari Ari which is an Indian metal song by Bloodywood, a metal band....I don't know how I landed here
I think her husband is a son of Magnús and she adopted his surname when she became an American citizen Edit: Yep, it seems like this video is on her channel and her given surname is Kristjánsdóttir
@Ben Ghazi How tired was I when I typed that? Let me try again. It looks like she got married in the States and decided to change her last name, even though she could probably retain it.
@@Erik_Emer Yes, you can retain your surname and some people also choose to hyphenate, like Inga Kristjansdottir-Magnusson, but it's also possible for some not-so-bright people here to get confused is two spouses have different names because they are accustomed to women taking their husband's name and haven't adjusted to the 21st century yet. My mother kept her husband's name after divorce so there wouldn't be any issues, legally or socially, with her having a different surname as her child, which would be ridiculous in Iceland because many people have different surnames than their child. However, keeping his name causes a little but of confusion because her ex husband was Arabic and she is clearly white.
Hahahahahaha snillingur!!!! Btw, með þetta "grænland allt í ís og Ísland grænt".... Vá hvað ég var spurð oft að þessu þegar ég bjó í Alabama!!!! I feel your pain :) En vel gert, flott uppistand :)
Just out of convenience i would think. Magnusson sounds like a real name. I've heard of Icelandic families getting into trouble at airports e.g. because no one has the same last name except for the children which can raise questions while traveling abroad 😆
Not really, I’m guessing her father in law was called Magnus, as Magnusson is a typical name for a man (son of Magnus) The tradition in Iceland is to be named your fathers name + son or daughter. Her channel is called Inga Kristjansdottir, so I would rather think that her fathers name is Kristjan. One of my middle names are Thorsdatter (daughter of Thor) because my parents liked the tradition even though we are norwegians
Considering germans & scandi's are supposed to have THAT type of humour, she certainly wasn't bad considering she's just learnt the language! A few small imperfections like timing/ flow, mentioning the vikings a bit to much, it felt too forced etc. but overall more than decent
