Well I'm German and I like Diane Kruger, but the female star of Ingl. Basterds was -clearly was- Melanie Laurent! Her acting is so much more intensive and impressing! Very interesting person!
Gah....she's fucking adorable. And she seems like a really cool person to hang out with. Other than Natalie Portman like 15 years ago in high school, I've never really had a "celebrity crush"....but hell if I'm not totally smitten by this Mélanie Laurent girl. She's *so* my type...
I'm French so I already saw Melanie in several french movies. I really liked the way she was playing before this movie : she was already great, but now, in the Tarantino's, she is just amazing! I was so moved by all the emotions she shows and gives.. I think this is her best movie. Tu vas aller loin, Melanie, tres loin..!
Am i the only one that is kinda scared and at the same time atracted to her? She really has something in her look. Very menacing look. Maybe because she did such a great job at her role.
I get what you're talking about....though, I'm hugely attracted to that look. I like girls who have a tad bit of crazy lurking underneath otherwise overwhelming beauty. And Mélanie Laurent is about perfection in my eyes. :)
she was so great and beautiful in this film. she's my favorite for best supporting actress so far. also, her and marion cotillard are very close friends
I doubt she wasn't speaking English before the casting. The interview is 12 years old, in 2021. So that brings it to 2009-2010. Inglorious bastards is a 2009 movie. No way she has reached that level of fluency in less than a year.
wow she really is stunning, in the way u wud see an actress in a film noir type of settimg but at the same tym she seems to come across very demure and elegant. shes defo 1 of those natural beauties who would luk gorgeous in literally any apparel, mixed ensemble or jus a single sheet of bedsheet like covering! and her sunny disposition and warm and friendly demeanor jus make her all the more attractive.
@HeLovesCulture Exactly. At the end of the day, she speaks two languages where many people can only speak one (I myself only speak English and bits and pieces of other languages but I'm hoping to learn something fluent soon!) It's such a shame that more people aren't willing to watch foreign films just because they can't be bothered to read subtitles. And personally I think her accent is lovely!
i just saw the movie for the second time today, and had to see more shoshanna, so i found this interview..her character IS the movie...putting out fire with gasoline.... in a red dress!! too kewl!!
@ossares It's just, if someone is speaking your native language you have a pretty good chance of understanding them, and if you can't then that's strange from everyone else's point of view
@jalapenopecker she had already acquaintances in English but it was not are enough for speaking English usually, she say in an interview she has make 4 hours of English a day during 3 months before the beginning of the shooting of the movie in one big school in France specialized in the fast learning of the foreign languages
