For sure. Also about today's music, without autotune most pop singers would be almost as bad as her. What you hear on the recording is fake. besides all synthesized. Even live now have backing tracks...fake. But this is what millennials and gen Z listen to.
My son was sound asleep. I played this because I just heard about this awful rendition. He woke up dazed and confused and immediately started crying for 5 minutes straight. Wow. Woke a sleeping baby up. Terrible.
"Drunk" people do not just start singing completely out-of-tune. The "drunk" story is a "face-saving" excuse by her people. The REAL reason this happened is because she CAN'T sing and her whole career has been made possible courtesy of AUTO-TUNE (which didn't work properly here).
I agree, I viewed some of her other live performances and her singing is pitifully bad. There are so many great singers who can't get their big break and get recording deals and somehow this person does. She's living proof that life is not fair.
Agreed. Its buIIshit that she was drunk, I don't buy that for a second. She should've just said she was trying out like a Courtney Love Punk Rock thing, that's all, just own it.
I thought they were saying boo. I’m hard of hearing, can you clue me in when she was saying “star spangled” i heard a crowd roar and it sounded like they were telling her to “STOP” at 1:28. Were they saying that? 😳
Dead Wrong. Those were Baltimore Orioles fans yelling O! It's tradition in Baltimore where in a part of the anthem Orioles fans yell O! for the Orioles. Yelling O has overflowed into Baltimore Ravens games, other sports teams from Baltimore, to nationally knowing who are Orioles fans and/or who is from Baltimore. After this performance of the anthem however, yelling No would be VERY appropriate.
What a disgrace to our beautiful national anthem and how disrespectful to all the brave veterans who fought for our freedom. This is unbelievable to me.
Not sure where the 4 time Grammy nominated came from but my goodness she was terrible! I don't like when artists try to change the anthem and make it their own. Now Reba McEntire singing the anthem at the super bowl was fantastic!;
Poor NL. First she wears that BP jersey they gotta wear tomorrow night, then your girl sounds like she's hurling the song. NL loses by 100 tomorrow night. Don't even want Elly playing after this. It's bad juju.
Yep... I was listening with my husband and immediately said "She just changed keys twice, and it's only the first line." Shameful. The crowd should have taken over.
1. She thought she was killing it. 2. Drunk or not, that does not stop natural talent. Her voice simply is not qualified for the anthem. 3. At this point it is a mockery and disrespectful to the anthem the bad quality of performance some of these celebrities have delivered.
To fail like that at such a HUGE national, televised EVENT must be devastating. I've never heard of her and likely will not after this. Her performance was, to put it mildly, unpleasant.
WOW….. I don’t think anyone has ever butchered the anthem THAT badly. The player’s faces even…. They were all just like “is this supposed to be a prank or something?!”
It was basically like a Punk Rock rendition of the National Anthem; had a Cindy Lauper/Courtney Love kind of vibe to it. The news media made it seem it was the biggest disaster, ever. Not terrible.
Is she actually Supposed to be a singer or just a girl they grabbed from the sidewalk? Either way her rendition perfectly captures the state of the country in this time
