Dick Cavett so respectful - called her Miss Bergman.

So did every interviewer who spoke to her. She had EARNED it through her long and exceptional career. She was a great lady of the theater by that time. Interesting how natural and unaffected she was. Both Hepburn and Davis were both still acting in their interviews with Cavett. Still hidden by their professional personna.

Well, there are those that would argue that the use of "Miss" has some undesirable connotations, though in situations/uses such as this, I have thought of it as being a complimentary honorific, implying that even actresses of advancing years are eternally youthful in spirit, unbound by time.

I wish that American hosts of TV shows today were more like him. Nowadays they are badly prepared, usually don’t know much about their guests and just want to be funny themselves. The guests never gets a chance to tell a story from the beginning to the end.

have nothing against the other celebs that were on this show but is this channel ever going to show the Dick Cavett shows where he interviews Jackie Gleason or Art Carney? How about any Honeymooners actors that were part of the main cast? These are rarities much like these.
