Una poesia, dalla prima all'ultima nota, in una Visione potente ed evocativa. Perla rara, La Fliter è stata allieva, tra gli altri della Westerkamp, a sua volta allieva del grande maestro Scaramuzza.
I recently heard a piece played by Ingrid on classic fm. I looked up the piece and found it was from her album Chopin complete waltzes. So what brought it to my attention ? There was so obviously and catergorically a duff note on the piano she was playing !!! I'll bet it was a top notch Steinway D or some equivalent costing perhaps north of 200k but with a duff note ?????? I purchased the album largely to confirm my suspicions and yes there it is throughout !!! She is a brilliant pianist though.
What a MAGNIFICENT SOUND she draws from the piano!. Comparisons are always foolish as well as odious but this certainly ranks with the best. My favorite Chopiniste will always be Guiomar Novaes, but at the same ti=me I will aways wish Novaes had been recorded under more favorable circumstances. VOX was a poor choice to preserve the work of one of the greatest performing artists who ever lived. THIS is absolutely splendid, but there will never be a Last Word in how great works should be heard. Hearing the many different approaches is what makes listening so intensely interesting.
NOVAES, NOVAES, NOVAES. The best Chopin player of this century. Tone, Left hand, Clarity, tasteful interpretation and depth of understanding. You are spot on. Richie k.
A solid dependable performance. Nevertheless as much as I admire Ingrid Fliter in Chopin, it is however the young fiery Khatia Buniatishvili in her latest Chopin recording that brings magic to this masterpiece for me. I realise there will be some who strongly disagree because Khatia can be wild and undisciplined, but when she has everything under control she's capable of great things. I concede that Ingrid Fliter has greater maturity and overall interpretative insight at this moment in time.
