From Ingrid’s 13th annual Holiday Hop show at Le Poisson Rouge in New York City
I’ve been meaning to see Ingrid forever and she didn’t disappoint!! Jason making an appearance as a special guest was icing on a very festive holiday cake 😁. I can’t say I was totally surprised to see him given their recent collaboration. I wondered beforehand whether he or Sara Bareilles (to sing Winter Song) or anyone else would perhaps be there to sing with her.
It was a small venue and a raucous, jolly crowd dressed in their holiday best. There was one particularly annoying woman very close to me so I hope my audio recording of the show came out alright 😛. It really was one of the most exciting, joyous shows I’ve been to. I didn’t expect to be closer to Jason than I’ve been at the 13 shows I actually knew he would be there! (We got high fives during the show! My friend got a warm, embracey one and I got temporarily faked out lol. I almost fell into the person in front of me Jason 😝) We were lucky enough to get one of Ingrid’s guitar picks and a set list. I also bought a signed holiday album she released last year I believe, and a set of Christmas cards that had animated versions of her and Jason on the front :)
My friend and I were trying to possibly go see Ingrid and Jason perform this next week at the Today Show with Hoda and Jenna, but now we may not go into the city that early. We’re seeing Waitress again that night when Sara just happens to also be hosting the final Waitress karaoke! So we definitely KNOW you’ll be in New York that day J. Maybe, just maybe, you’ll stop by and cohost the karaoke for old time’s sake?? 😉
