In this video we learn how to do an initial call in the air requesting join. This is the call all pilots need to make in order to land at an airfield and the format of the call is the same for all airfields.
The initial call in the air is an important call to get correct as it allows the Air Traffic Service Unit at the airfield gain all of the details they need about your flight to help you conduct it safely. It also reduces your workload when done correctly.

Please keep these video's coming. Nice to see someone passionate about getting RT correct. I am gob smacked how sloppy radio is, especially instructors ! I believe Mainair has a very high standard in all aspects of training and run RT courses that prepare pilots for real world flying. Good RT, good airmanship, good preparation = good pilot :) What you say makes a lot of sense! and is helpful for newbies, please keep doing them, and throw in some of your landing away bits, as there enjoyable and informative.

Thank you very much. We'd love to do more videos but a few factors have stopped us recently. We'll try to get some more up as soon as we can but want to have good content that people can learn from rather than the odd video here and there. Watch this space.

Hi. Yes, we will eventually create more videos as soon as we get an opportunity. We'd like to create good quality content that people can learn from. One idea is a Manchester Low Level Route video guide as well as trip reports including planning.

Came across this vid - very good indeed. I was very keen to see more. You said from 15 mins onwards all the stuff you were going to upload soon regarding juicy topics - MATZ penetration etc. Imagine my, indeed anyone's disappointment (906 views) nothing has appeared in over two years. Had you not said you would do more and kept this vid as a stand alone, then that would be fine. The credibility of this vid goes out the window as you are unable to finish what you started. Not very professional. Neil Disappointed viewer
