0:48 I just realize how crazy Takumi is, Impact Blue has been practicing for years on that mountain pass trying to perfect every single corner, including C-121, which is a corner that, before this point, only Impact Blue was known to have cleared nearly perfectly. And some 18 year old high school student from Akina who showed up literally a few hours ago in a little 86 comes along and pulls this stunt absolutely flawlessly.
@@aavysantoruf5084 But that's not taking into account that this was Mako and Sayuki's home course, where they had been driving for that entire length of time. Takumi up to this point had only ever raced on Akina, and moreover, this was a different style of race as well, being a cat and mouse style rather than a time attack, due to the narrowness of Usui's roads. Those differences stacked against Takumi are what helps to make his early stage mystique so much more powerful, what with most of his early stage races being against much more powerful and modern cars, that, and there's the fact he eeked out the win against Shingo as well, during the gumtape deathmatch.
This was one of mt favorite battles from the show! The Sileighty and Mako and Sayukis voice actors singing the song just hits differently! Loving these animations!

That part at 1:51 really feels like a part from Initial D Stage 5 . Tho the rest of the video feels less fast but more realistic tbh . It would be so good to remake all the cgi of the first stage with this aspect your work is amazing man
Initial D basically makes all the cars go at impossible speeds around corners so having it be somewhat believable is a nice change of pace especially for a fan animation.
Love the new animation! Something I would've liked to see though was when Takumi and Mako barely passed by an incoming car. Although that scene wasn't included, it won't take away at how amazing this animation is. Keep up the great work! I also like the detail of how Takumi performed corner 121 better than the Sileighty.
It was phenomenal, I will give you a little constructive criticism and it is the following: -Usui does not have as many curves between loops, in them, there are straights of at least up to 9 meters - Some scenes are very static, I mean, the two cars are shown skidding in the same place, without any change, like a gif. - The start of the skids is unrealistic, and as the suspension works in general, it lacks realism. - I think you can save resources if you make the night darker, type, the fourth season of Initial d, and adapt the vegetation to that darkness That's it, I really liked it, you should talk to some graphic companies to launch a car anime hahaha
i didnt want to be the only one who commented on the movements of cars, when slamming on the brakes, the cars nose should dip hard, and quick, Believe it or not, the original season did this really well, it showed the movements of the cars quite well. Another thing, when entering the corner, they go wide on so many of the corners, many of these corners they are going to be looking for cutting. Also when sliding, make the front tires change angle, feeling for grip. When drifting, people do this to make sure the car is heading in the right direction. what i mean is really evident in the first stage, look at keisukes fd3s, you can see the rear inner tire is almost off the ground sliding into the enterance to the corner. overall great, but needs a bit of work.
The battle between the AE86 ans the Sileighty was one of my favorites. First time viewing it gave me chills. This one did the same. Good job, this is amazing!👍
The fact that you guys made this masterpiece in a month is just amazing. I really wish i knew how to do animations with blender, and you guys inspired me to learn this.
Gotta love it, we gonna make a whole battle stage for this. I mean you got all the clips but I’ll happily make a compilation of all of them into one giant battle stage. It’s a work of art as always
If initial d was revived for another season (prob won't:( ) this would be a good choice for animation looks. 1. It's so smooth 2. Perfect colour of the whole effect 3. Cars have such high detail Nice work 👍
I think what made this scene with c-121 so amazing was the reactions of mako and sayuki. The slow motion, the closeup of the 86 taking the best line and coming out of the corner gaining on the sil80 made this scene. This is amazing work, but if I can offer this bit of criticism, the addition of these elements will give the scene context and make it much more epic
The SilEighty, one of the unique JDM cars. Pop up headlights are too expensive to some to repair so a Silvia front end used as a cost effective alternative. Kids Heart said to made only 500 official SilEighties making it the genuine ones among the rarest of JDMs. Great job mate, you capture the scene well. They're racing on Keiichi Tsuchiya's home turf.
I don't know if you're planning to do any of the battles after the first stage but please do Takumi vs Wataru. It's one of the best battles in the entire show! Also maybe something from Wangan Midnight.
