that engine isn't op at all. Takumi is barely able to win races because of the rally gearing and courses with super tight 1st gear corners, the engine is the only thing keeping his fingertips hanging on in those battles. This is why its so cool. If it was op it would be boring af

What every stage of Initial D is good at 1st Stage: Storyline of a racer who at first wanted no part of it and also a love story 2nd Stage: Making you feel sad and depressed 3rd Stage: More plot, racing, and break up 4th Stage: Racing galore here and there 5th Stage: Super racing powers (?) and some more sad times Final Stage: Giving an ending (not the best ending but an ending nonetheless) and also giving the AE86 a good sendoff

First love hits you hard, especially in the teens, if you get cheated on it's really difficult to get over it, you may need years if not decades to heal the wounds, even then the psychological scars will always remain, at least takumi had proyect D to focus his energy in, those who don't have anything to pour their thoughts in end up damaging themselves with addictions or suicide, love can take you to really dark places...

Haha true Guess I'm trying to say this is a normal life situation of a boy not knowing what to do until he find something he likes, puts allot effort into, and learns the reality of life he lives in. Nothing extreme like being the savior/chosen one. Also some sport anime tend to use more drama like drama TV shows. Either the situation is forced in or it's a done and gone thing its never stick around for awhile or we never see the aftermath This anime have characters still struggling with aftermath of the situation just like real life unless it's wasn't that important

I know exactly, after I destroyed my car on ice, insurance fixed it anyway, my mum just told me "I'ts just a car" i really cried and flamed her "for women it's just a car but for me it's like a realanship is destroyed forever". A girlfriend can be exchanged easily but a car is as valuable as gold or even more for men xD. I had three GF after that accident but still drive the same car, doesn't that say everything...
My car broke since it was super old and when I revved to 8000RPM it quit and smoked up like Takumi but I didn't spin out like him. I just oversteered when the wheel locked up and stopped right after the "curve" corner.
Arguably the best anime about cars and racing -- the shitty love stories are shitty though. I mean they are realistic but then why are we even watching fiction if we cant even get some gratification on that.
This anime is pretty old so many things was changed. For example many girls started to be interested in cars. So you have all chances to get a girlfriend

This song that makes me accidentally drift through a corner on a motorbike....overtaking a toyota vios....in slow motion when i try keep calm trying not to fall i saw through the driver window of the toyota vios...the driver was looking at me jaw dropping wide while i over took him from the outer lanes from the corner and disappearing infront of him after the corner....in heart i was thinking lucky me....i didnt fart it up into skidding on the road....thank god....
