Live on Tamborine Mountain back of the Gold Coast Qld. and went to a local mechanic here today to check the EGR valve etc. (throwing some codes) and he didn't even know where it was!! Whooopps! It's been a godsend because I got pissed off and decided to research it all myself and found you on Dr.Google... (been going to a Toyota dealer on the goldie) for years and will not trust them to do my injectors etc. as I am at 269K, readings are still good on my injectors... anyway I will leave all this to when you get back to work... Hi Anthony I hope you are well On my prado I have a problem blue smoke when I stop for few hours than later its back to normal Been clean all system Gr valve and fit news turbo and still smoke like a train ! It's only 100k on clock Do you think it's injectors? Thanks all best
Is it all good just to power wash the engine like that?just wondering does it get into electrics or do any harm in anyway,just been a bit hesitant to just blast mine.

I have a question for you... During the video at 10:50 to 11:10 while the engine is idling we can see that it's vibrating quite a lot. I have the same problem. At 110k I changed the injectors since one out of four was completely out of specs. Unfortunately the vibration didn't stop. I have checked everything and I can't find the reason of this vibration. Neither the authorized dealers can. The engine is performing well so I have stopped trying to find the issue. Do you have any idea why this is happening? I am plugging in techstream that I have and a have no issues shown. Now at 215k the engine keeps having the vibration which is almost vanishing when the temp is up to normal operation level.
Hello mate, I have de same problem like you, everything is running good but sometimes, especially when the engine is warm, I m have this annoying engine shake. I changed also the engine mounts (original ones), but nothing. Did you found any solution of this? Thanks for your time.
Hi Anthony, I'm trying to diagnose a 2005 petrol v6 prado grande with a vrey rough engine, the roughness is more noticeable while idealing and at the slow speeds/low rpms. The problem started as a very low vibraton feel inside the cabin, and since then I have replaced all six ignition coil (Bosch BIC724) with no real difference. Recently replaced the spark plugs with Denso Iridium TT Spark Plug IKH20TT and since then the the roughness has become more apparent and the car feels low on power and now it runs like a tractor... No codes, no check engine lights, but one of the apps I use to read codes has shown negative test result on ”oxygen sensor heater” as I'm using a elm237 code reader, this may be to do with the fact that this car hasn't got a sensor like that hence unable to read it? I'm no expert so not sure. I have checked the transmission and engine mounts and there is no unusual movements or cracks in the mounts... average fuel economy is around 14.2l per 100, when the issue first popped up as a mild vibration, it was only noticeable while idealing and we have driven from Melbourne to Sydney and back with out any issues. But since the sparkplug change, its has become really worse to a point that car is not pleasant to dirve. Odometer reads 280k and car has been regularly serviced and well looked after. I suspect the next step is injectors, and its possibly still running on factory injectors as we have not replaced it in the last 6 years. I have checked the fuel filter and both the in and out side of the filter had discoloured fuel with a lot of blackish suspension in it... no real big visible particles in the filter but the fuel looked bad at the filtered side. I'm changing this today. Car has a leaky valve cover gasket and I'm replacing it once the part arrives. No head gasket leak, oil and coolant levels with in limit.. Sorry for the long post, any inputs welcome
