I can imagine the pain of broken legs and the fear of being killed by predators

I’m not a fan of people interfering with nature but in this case, they should. It’s the right thing to do.

heartbreaking to watch this.....in pain

They jump on top of each other whenever they are crossing the river during the great migration meanwhile zebras always cross in an orderly way even though they're all in the mix. My guess is this injury is self inflicted otherwise if it was a victim of a predator it would've been eaten it by now.

It would be nice if they could put it out of its misery and still feed it to the Predators

Well its just not his day....worst part is waiting for some one to come along and eat me...

His life is over...😔😔going thru immense pain as well as fear of getting killed.. If he is caught by wild dogs or hyenas ,,he won't b able even to stand up against them.. Instead of seeing that brutal torture,,it'll b better that he may die very soon... Really so sad Nature has it's own laws

Everybody looks, nobody shoot em. Poor animal. Has so much pain with that broken leg. Just help em, shoot em. The lions eat it dead too... but for him no more pain.

Many of the comments here insinuate that I put this video up because I get some perverse pleasure in seeing animals suffer. On the contrary, I put it up only because it was the most dramatic thing that I witnessed on a week long safari. We knew that this guy was toast because he was limping heavily even before the lions attacked him and again, this is how nature works whether one likes it or not and we didn't fancy spending time in custody in a far-away land by breaking safari rules to put an end to it's misery. For me the more heart-rending scene was of a mother that had lost track of it's calf during the Mara crossing that was instinctively running back to the river trying to find it and then turning back to join it's herd again and again.

Better a lion put him out of his misery by asphyxiation then be eaten slowly by a pack of wild dogs.

Where are the hyenas and lions when one needs them to put this creature out of its misery. Rangers could do a service animal kingdom by shooting it and feeding it to other predators.

For those of you that think this wildebeest could have been treated by a vet then released in the wild. The wildebeest's right hind leg had a compound fracture and there is no way an injury that bad can be treated. If a vet were to "treat" it, it would have been humanely euthanized. Then because of the drugs used to euthanize it, the meat could not have been given to any predator, nor could the meat been used for human consumption. The best thing to do is to let nature take it's course and hopefully the wildebeest would be killed quickly by a predator.

That do not intervene law is discriminatory. I have seen vets treat lions wounded by prey animals. They don't have respect for the wildebeests. This wildebeest should have been treated by a vet and returned to the wild.

I'd like to ask you a question. You too know well that it's over for him, that paw was broken even before the lions. It's obvious. Why didn't you kill him right away? If hyenas or wild dogs caught him, he'll die eaten alive. I don't want to judge, I just want to understand. A big stone to finish it for sure you found it.

Tourist operators should have permission to shoot animal that are so badly injured. There is nothing "right" about leaving an animal to suffer like that. Interference, be dammed.
