Hey man sorry to hear about your potential stress fracture. I've recently returned from a 2nd metatarsal stress fracture. Biggest change I've had to make is to take recovery more seriously. Particularly with calory intake before and after running. Best piece of advice I could give is give your body the time to recover from the fracture and don't run until you're 100% certain that all feels normal. We often kid ourselves and say there's no pain when there is still a niggle. All this does is delay the recovery even further. Rest up, eat well and you'll be back in no time!
Thanks for the kind words and really sound advice. Sorry to hear about your injuries - I guess sometimes we have to go through these things to start new habits which will help avoid repeat injuries in the future! I am pretty hot on getting in fuel before and ASAP after runs, but generally need to get in more calories I think. And yeah completely agree on coming back only when you’re definitely 100%… can be short term ‘pain’, but for long term gain!
