Because Atrocitus recognizes Grid being a robot and robots can't have feelings, well with an exception of Sonny (I, Robot) and Andrew (Bicentennial Man) 😅 But Grid could be reminding Atrocitus of the manhunters who killed his family centuries ago, so he feels angry towards Grid rather than want Grid to feel anger.

How does a fear gas affect a 100% machine entity? Like I know mechanically Scarecrow has to assume his fear form. But lore wise, Scarecrow should always appear human to Grid, shouldn't he? 😅
And should also probably die instantly. He’s just a guy, the only thing that lets him fight the other characters is that they’re under the effect of his fear gas the whole time
