Ok, just to stop any confusion the gear system will only work for casual games. In competitive mode (which is ranked) the gear effects and abilities will be turned off, but your look will remain. As for micro transactions, Injustice 2 will not be pay to win, there will be source crystals which are purchasable, but they can only grant shaders and premier skins, so only cosmetic not gameplay. Any other questions, I'll be happy to answer

I wasn't initially on board with this idea, but I actually really like the gear system. If you want to play fair there are ranked battles or just don't equip any gear, and if you fight against friends who are total noobs you give them an edge for an extra challenge and to not beat their ass so hard

I hope there's an option to turn off the stat bonuses when on multiplayer. Don't get me wrong, it is awesome that they actually do something, but at the same time, there should be a way for players to test each other on pure skill if they want to.

Redhood1997 That's Red Hood's symbol. It's just not the character Red Hood. I want him as a separate character. It wouldn't make any sense for him to be a skin for anyone, not Batman because they don't fight the same and he doesn't use batarangs, not Deadshot because Red Hood never ricochet a bullet before. Not that I'm aware of.

Ben Parsons Because Ed Boon has confirmed that in interviews. The tagline for this game is "Every Battle Defines You" and they mean it, every single battle gives you gear. It needs to be that way because each character reportedly has hundreds of different gear pieces.

pooballify They said the gear changes to the stats minimally effect gameplay, but new moves do change. However, adding new moves takes away old ones. It is very balanced, and should be fun!

Hopefully they've since changed it, but the beta was VERY unbalanced towards players with more powerful gear. A 30% combo with gear could be buffed to 40% or even 50%. There were some players who were using characters with almost doubled health because of their gear

A REAL ONE They have a mode where you can keep the gear but it won't affect your stats.
