What the son did is betrayal. Yes the mom did a right thing by disowning his child. A hardworking parent doesn’t deserve a betraying kid.

She should have asked them to pay her a huge sum as salary for looking after the child. Then she could have enjoyed the company of her grandchild and earned enough to take care of herself at a later date.
