According to the Injustice comic books that take place before the game's events, the Green Arrow from the Regime Universe stupidly tried to hold Superman's parents hostage as a way to restrain his actions... It didn't work. In the already tense hostage situation, Green Arrow accidentally (?) shot Pa Kent with one of his arrows, and a pissed-off Supes basically beat him to death. So yeah, maybe the regular-universe GA should be careful about going toe to toe with a Superman who's had five years to practice killing superheroes...
